Van Gogh draws with such deftness that his creations are not just good, they are better than good. In short, they extend beyond the. simple reality he is trying to depict. The result is an extra degree of expressiveness.
This is a brilliant and invaluable resource for anyone who loves art; I had no notion of how prolific Vincent van Gogh was or of how fine his draftsmanship; a fact which happily gives the lie to that old cliche about impressionists and others of their persuasion not being able to draw, "properly."
His portraits are obscure and were an unanticipated delight, although I can imagine that few if any of his sitters can have been much flattered by them at the time, nonetheless there is an uncompromising honesty and a brutal beauty about all of them that still has an emotional power to move and to engage.
There's also an an irony here that for all these people's skepticism and incomprehension about his paintings, he's nonetheless made them immortal after the fashion of so many great artists.

What a fantastic world of amazing views on his paintings. I can't understand why his art has been misunderstood at the time, they're such peculiar and such original expression forms.. Like a diary, a collection of artworks depicting an ever changing world around him through the eyes of an ever changing universe inside. a tormented and brigtly enlightned soul at the same time.
He was not comprehended by others who didn't have experience with the new art culture being created. Plus Vincent was difficult. It has taken time. Now a visitor to the Vincent section at any museum can barely get through the herd of admirers and their cameras to see the paintings. But , at the same time Cy Twombley goes unrecognized for the strength of the art. That's life

Do you see the train at 3:28? It is on an elevated track. Also, Vincent created about 900 paintings and 1100 drawings so this is not the 'Complete Works'.

@@Whoisrem Yea, he was the most amazing neoclassical, painter IMO "The Death of Morat, ayyy sh*t man that's a great painting, then Delacroix's romantic prolificlivity. Van Gogh pound for pound is the most expressive painter to have lived, but I also liked Munch and Klimt.
Almost all of Van Gogh,s portraits have the same glum expression. I wonder what that tells us about what,s going on in his mind. Probably not very much.
I seriously question the title that this is the "complete" collection,.. and it would have been nice if this was presented in chronological order...

Many of Van Goth’s paintings have a childlike charm that might lead some people to call him reckless, freakish, or even mad. I submit that this characteristic of his is the result of a zealous attempt to achieve exactness in his images, or, perhaps, to attract followers.

Огромный недостаток подобных вернисажей в том, что не даются данные о о картинах, такие как : название картины, на каком носителе написана : холст, картон, стекло размер. Какими красками пользовался мастер : масло, акварель, темпера, гуашь и пр.
Авторы роликов не учитывают что их смотрят не только артпрофи, но и просто любители живописи, а также студенты изобразительных факультетов, для которых эта информация ОСОБО ВАЖНА.

Unfortunately, the title is totally incorrect. This is undoubtedly a beautiful collection with that being said these pieces are in NO way the complete works of Mr.Vincent VanGogh. Your video is promoting Mr. Vangogh's art exclusion. To insinuate that these are his complete works as fact is false and misleading and deceptive to the uninformed. To put together only 800 pieces of an artist which produced thousands of paintings, drawings, prints and watercolours and to call these his complete work is simply ill informed and deceptive. You must have knowledge of his prolific ability as an artist. I am sure others in the art world would agree. He painted OVER a thousand paintings alone how could this even be close to being the complete works of Vangogh. I would recommend a title change at least out of respect for someone who suffered in life from the misunderstanding of his work. Should he suffer misrepresentation in death also. This needs to stop. It's time to get it right and stop spreading incorrect information about artist. There are many, many more pieces.
