    exciting products from Svs…. I really hope they are working on in-wall & in-ceiling speaker as well. I would love to do ultra towers behind my screen to compliment my pc4000… then svs in-walls & in-ceiling for atmos. Please SVS, more architectural speakers for those of us that prefer the clean look of concealed speakers!!!!

    These inwalls look great. It's amazing how expensive inwall subwoofers can be, so happy to see SVS in the inwall game!

    • @robertmedina3195
      @robertmedina3195 Год назад

      Well if the prices are what I have seen in rumors these will not be competitive in my opinion. You could buy Monoprice in walls for far less. However Monoprice has awful customer service in my EXPERIENCE. So I'm a huge SVS fan. For those wondering I own a full ultra system 5.2.4 with Klipsch ceiling speakers until SVS finally makes some of those...that's what I've been wishing they would make.

    • @commanderrussels2612
      @commanderrussels2612 Год назад +1

      @@robertmedina3195 SVS isn't the cheapest but is reliable and has good service, I'll pay more for that in it's going inwall especially, but yeah it needs to be competitive. I hope the price is around 1,000-1,100 because with an external amp there is chassis costs there. My experience buying inwall subs is they're super expensive for what you get.

      "The SVS 3000 In-Wall subwoofer pricing is subject to change and currently set at $1,299.99 for a single subwoofer and amplifier, $1,999.99 for dual subwoofers and amplifier. Estimated shipping date is Q1 2022. "
      You can certainly buy a lot of subwoofer power for that price. JBL might be another good consideration but I don't know too much about pricing and performance of their in walls.

    • @commanderrussels2612
      @commanderrussels2612 Год назад

      @@robertmedina3195 Yeah, so duals are a better value for sure. $1000/sub for a good inwall isn't crazy. If it performs like a SB-3000 Micro it wouldn't be a bad choice.

    • @TylerStout
      @TylerStout Год назад

      @@robertmedina3195 I think you're really underselling the SVS in wall sub. Yes it's more expensive but I'd expect you're getting a lot more subwoofer than Monoprice's best in wall subs. Monoprice's Monolith Dual 8" sub is their current best at $550/ea and that doesn't include a 600w amp. But the main takeaway is that the SVS is using a 2500W amp and dual 9" drivers are 26.5% more surface area than dual 8" drivers that combined with probably higher excursion means that they are likely to have as much or more output than the petite 3000 micro (with dual 8"s in likely a smaller enclosure) that plays down to 23hz +/- 3db whereas the monoprice is 36hz +/- 3db and also a mountain frequency response instead of flat plus no SVS app. I would be shocked if Monoprice is in the same league in terms of performance/sound quality and the better comparison is probably JL Audio which their single 8" with amp costs $2800 so if the pricing you stated before is correct you're talking half off for same performance or likely even better. So yeah if you don't need quality bass definitely save a buck and go monoprice. And for reference I sold my only SVS sub so I'm far from a fanboy.

  • @caczech
    @caczech Год назад +2

    I've slowly opened my mind to SVS sealed given my current room limitations. It is somewhat intriguing, based on their website, some of the sealed subs say that "expect lower extension if you have a smaller room." A final decision (another attempt) at new subs won't come until spring of next year. Regardless, SVS recently found their way back into the top 3 choices.

      @caczech Год назад

      @@L3x4Pr0ne ... Oh it'll be either the 2 or 3000 here. That and a Minidsp 2x4 HD. But Rhythmik got in my radar recently too (they have some comparable products).

    • @TylerStout
      @TylerStout Год назад

      This is due to room gain. Escentially depending on the longest dimension of your room determines how much room gain you get with smaller being better. So a 10x15 room would have less room gain than a 13x13 despite it being a larger volume of air. SVS has a great article talking about room gain and how to calculate how much you would get. However if the subwoofer doesn't have enough output you wont get enough room gain depending on the room. I like to look at CEA-2010 data and see where the subs start to lose output then use that find the correct size room for the situation. Something like an SVS SB1000 will start to roll off around 40hz near it's limit so using it in a room where you're room gain starts at 40hz will help to fill in the missing output from the lack of the port. I usually say SVS SB1000 pro is best in a room smaller than 14ft ideally 12ft and a sb2000 pro is good for 16-18ft. This also only applies to sealed rooms as open concept rooms are very unpredictable in terms of room gain.

    The need for higher and higher bit depths isn’t based on scientific reality, but rather on a twisting of the truth and exploiting a lack of consumer awareness about the science of sound. Ultimately, companies marketing 24-bit audio have far more to gain in profit than you do in superior playback quality. Consider that a very quiet room in a typical home has about 30 dB of background noise. That means that to hear any quantization noise on your 16 bit recording (e.g. a normal CD), you’d have to turn the volume up so that the loudest sounds are at 126 dB. That’s about the threshold of pain for most people. So unless you plan on playing your music so loudly that it makes your ears hurt (and you have equipment that can produce that volume), 16 bits is plenty.
    By the way, the 174 dB you’d need to hear quantization noise with 24 bit is loud enough to literally KILL you. There's 0 chance a pair of bookshelf speakers can come remotely close to those DB levels. Same holds true with cables digital signals are in bits (1s and 0s) as long as a cable can handle the data throughput there's no difference or need to buy these 'high-end ' accessory cables. Let's stop marketing hype and get to real world information necessary. The average home theater will not need nor discern any tangible differences.
