  • In this Range Report I get back to my roots as a fan of the 1911 and shoot one of the modern offerings by Smith & Wesson. This is the SW1911ES. A CCO, or Concealed Carry Officer, 1911. Essentially this is a Officer sized frame with a Commander sized slide. It offers many advantages of both sizes of 1911 and makes a great concealed carry pistol. How does this gun stack up to my favorite Colts? Well, these are my thoughts and experiences.

Great review, seems like a pretty accurate gun.

Wow, this is a blast from the past. I bought this gun around 15 years ago (it has been out of production for over a decade so the only way to buy one would be used). I thought it looked cool and it was the third gun I purchased. That was basically a mistake. I had frequent failures to feed with the original (ACT) mags, and did find it a bit snappy, and it has basically sat in my safe for years. I live in NJ and couldn't carry here until 2 years ago. I have been planning to sell it.
However, I recently took it to the range and it ran like a top. I use wilson combat mags now with the polymer follower (the colt mags you used are failure prone). So, I am now going to install hogue grips and see how it feels and may carry it occasionally if I can get a few hundred rounds through it with no failures.
    Cool review.

I’ll stick with my Sig C3 1911. It replaced my Springfield V10 Officers…. Reloading is still infinitely faster than a six shooter. 😂 Thanks for the video

    I may be wrong.
But I think it's the way she holds the gun

Good morning, Jason, now your channel has been up lifted by the topic this morning. If you get any haters on this video, just tell them Dorothy & Toto will be visiting them, real soon. I have not as yet put a S&W 1911 in my gun vault. By the way that lovely 1911 actually shooter better than you. By the way John Moses Browning is not interested in your pinky, just saying. Cheers. did pick up the brass, 45ACP is no longer "cheap"
