Yup! They expected me to work as a student. I did work in unpaid internships that got me nowhere. Even as a student no one hired me for lack of experience and time. It's ridiculous!
Stop that man! do not hope for that, Take responsibility, and take action! you have what it takes to make it in what ever you choose to do. The only person stopping you is you. Stay positive! Attitude is very important
Jb Alvarez if you really need to go to culinary school and become a cook. It might not be the best job, pay being low and risk of being burned or cut. It's still better then jobs in the video, there's always work in the cooking industry plus its a life skill and the place you work at could provide you with meals.
Accurate video lmao! And no, this doesn't only apply to "art or psychology majors" , there's a ridiculous amount of people with business degrees who struggle to find jobs because there's so much competition! It's not really easy for anyone unless there's a high demand in your field.
There is always going to be competition, and that competition will continue to grow and there will be more and more.Do yourself a favor and stop making an excuse for yourself and others.
I'm gonna be graduating this semester with an accounting major and I relate. Majority of my classmates already have jobs lined up and then there's me :'(
This is so true....I've been in almost all of these positions. But have hope all because I landed my dream job a few months ago and couldn't be happier! Keep optimism because those bad jobs don't last forever!❤️
PuzzleMessage Her character is of someone who wants to be a unique, little snowflake and who doesn't understand the difference between employable skills and useless skills.
this video makes me feel so positive even though i have like 10 assignments and tests coming up soon and the fact that i am completely sleep deprived and that i still don't have control over my unhealthy binge eating sessions i get when i procrastinate
grism13 we are artists; main reason we took our major is because of passion and creating something we love. And it doesnt have to be always who gets the highest paycheck. Artists are attention-seekers in a sense of giving awareness of what they love and passionate about. The art vs science feud needs to stop to be honest. One cant relevant without the other. Stop being jerks!
I'm studying science and I still don't see how is the degree going to work for me lol. It's not like all science graduates get in a job in a lab or money for their own research. So you're either an employee, teach or have to find a sponsor for your own research. That doesn't sound ideal to me either. Both fields are great, arts and science, but both fields are also very very hard.
To all the future graduatees out there like me, its okay if all of these jobs happen to us. This is reality. But as long as we have special reason why we do it, we can make it ❤️
It is better to have a job, then to have no job correct. But you cannot just accept these jobs. YOU NEED TO CONTINUE TO FIND SOMETHING BETTER AND DON"T STOP TILL YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE! YOU ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE TO DO SO.
Richie Falcone Yup, correct. Tho I didnt said we should "stay" in these kind of jobs, still we should strive for better I believe you but more often than not, no experience-newly graduates experience having jobs like these admit it or not.
"The liberal arts (Latin: artes liberales) are those subjects or skills that in classical antiquity were considered essential for a free person (Latin: liberalis, "worthy of a free person")[1] to know in order to take an active part in civic life, something that (for Ancient Greece) included participating in public debate, defending oneself in court, serving on juries, and most importantly, military service. Grammar, logic, and rhetoric were the core liberal arts" From the wiki. Your most important job isn't being a worker or an employee or an entrepeneur. It's being a citizen of a democracy. A free person. Although our current economic system forces you to spend most of your waking hours in some meaningless job with dubious social benefit just to survive.
I'm glad everyone who didn't major in liberal arts or gender studies have steady and secure well paying jobs in their fields. You're negativity is appreciated But what do I know? I have a BA and work in my field. After working these jobs. 😊
This is too real! I just got home, from a job I hate and I am eating a pint of ice cream as I watch this!! But it's not all bad, I applied to my dream jobs while I was at my hateful job today!
Chris Garcia it's not about the degree subject it's about your plans after you graduate, if you do an English major and then become a teacher you have more prospects than someone who does an engineering major with no work experience and with no future plans
It took me two years after graduation to get a job in my field. My advice: NEVER give up! Go on every job board you know, visit your local job and family services, go to job fairs, mail out your resume to different businesses if you have to. Good luck!!
Hey I graduated in May this year with an environmental science degree and now I work as an environmental planner for an environmental consulting company. I had a pretty average GPA and no work experience prior. And I didn't even get it by knowing anyone in the business. There's hope! Also it probably depends heavily on your major whether or not you get your "dream job" straight from college. I'm lucky in that environmental jobs are growing pretty rapidly.
It's so sad, college doesn't teach you skills applicable for graduates to get real jobs. And half the internships out there are bs. The only way to get a job in a real career is teach yourself the real skills and network with the right people. Other then that...you have to hustle. Most kids these days feel too entitled to work hard or don't know how real the real world is til after graduation. Pro tip: Can't find a job in a "real" career, find a job that pays the same or better. Examples: waiters in high end restaurants can make six figures. High end strippers make six figures without ever sleeping with guests.
The point of most college degrees is not to train you for a job! That's what trade school and such is for. Higher education is for learning general abstract things and get you into science and research
Graduated in May and all I could find initially was childcare for 8.50 an hour. Now I'm a sub at a way better school for 14 an hour and applying for grad schools. Yay?
Was never great at uni, so at 18 decided to apply everywhere in Finance (my major) to try compensate with. Now 22 and work in my dream company and dream job :)
I've had all of these jobs while going to University. Feel like Im 4 years ahead as I've already got a permanent job lined up because of all the jobs I've done
I started writing articles and product descriptions for different companies after I graduated, so I'm very happy that I'm not able to relate to this. I did use to work in a café though, which was an absolute nightmare.
Not really. In the west. There is gay marriage (which shouldn't be a thing because it is religious act) people are allowed to burn flags of their countries and women are allowed to do everything without male guidance. How is that bad? Islam prohibits women's rights. End Of Story
I can see my life from now although I am still at university that I am going to end up in some trash.Studies for about 13 years to go to university then finds out that simply he or she didn't accomplish anything! Just wasted time.I hope u get a good job.
"they smell fear" x,D couldn't find a more accurate description of a corporate chain restaurant manager Also being ranked into a server is an outright PRIVILEGE because the money they make on tips is $100 a night MIN.
God this is incredibly accurate. My friends and I graduated and I'm at the restaurant, one is pushing papers and burning CDs at a law firm, and another is at a call center
i was worried this was going to get all weird and "eventually you'll have babies!" like most other contraceptive advertisements. but this was actually really lovely.
Telemarketer, assistant, barista, server, stocker. Is it bad to say I've done ALL of these positions? I graduated hs over 10 years ago n stuck with 1 of the 5. I make 20-30 bux an hour, so I'm happy with that, I make more than my bosses. I love my job, I meet a ton of interesting people, hear a ton of different liife stories, and for some reason people still pity the position I have. I'm simple tho, I may not make $1000 a day but I also don't work all day either to achieve that. 40 hours a week is enuf for me. I love the people interaction, the job is fun and laid back, and I make more tthan minimum wage. So my words of advice: don't let anyone tell u ur job is bad or less than u deserve. If u love ur job and make enuf to get ahead, enjoy it!
I started my degree at 22, had work experience before college, went to school throughout college, graduated and applied to jobs that said I had no experience. I also know people who have taken the certificate route and have "experience" and still make less than $20 an hour. I graduated 4 months ago in law. With honours. I work in a callcenter
:/
Fio fml I graduated in law too and I'm still jobless
Xena T yup... they want 2+ years experience... entry level.... are you kidding me lol
I need a degree + 3 years of experience for my dream job. Plus tons of talent... I'm fucked :D
Yup! They expected me to work as a student. I did work in unpaid internships that got me nowhere. Even as a student no one hired me for lack of experience and time. It's ridiculous!
Yo, I'm about to graduate, and this honestly just depressed me.
Cristina Dolores Garrido Same
Life is depressing. I have a Master's degree and have so far only managed voluntary work and temporary contract work.
Randomicity912 Low-key mentally vowing to either not take no for an answer, or become a trophy wife.
Cristina Dolores Garrido hopefully you learned the most important lesson that school has to teach. Make the right connections.
I think we are in the same boat... Without a paddle... Going nowhere.
At least they have a job :(
Not setting goals high enough
this was such a awsome video... life aint easy but this actually gives me a bit of hope
hope for what ?
Hope that I will make it in life 😂😂 Richie Falcone
Stop that man! do not hope for that, Take responsibility, and take action! you have what it takes to make it in what ever you choose to do. The only person stopping you is you. Stay positive! Attitude is very important

Job posts be like.
Req. 5-10 years of experience
Job Pay: 12$ an hour.

so did u get a job?
Jokes on you..

Louelle Alngog no we are just realistic.
joshua powell no you're being jerks.
a random dude no, but after i graduate this year i'll take film. And stop belittling the art/creative industry

Jurikeh What is that? Something with art?

I'm not from U.S so I never heard of liberal arts.. well I google it then
"The liberal arts (Latin: artes liberales) are those subjects or skills that in classical antiquity were considered essential for a free person (Latin: liberalis, "worthy of a free person")[1] to know in order to take an active part in civic life, something that (for Ancient Greece) included participating in public debate, defending oneself in court, serving on juries, and most importantly, military service. essence174 did you get the job??
no, but I am still applying. I will get my dream job soon!!!
you'll get there.
The five job you have after majoring in psychology or art.
Mark Jones too true 🙈
Then they're the exception not the rule. Plus, having a degree doesn't really mean much, if you don't understand anything. :)
There are a ridiculous amount of jobs in psychology what are you talking about
+Diana Gorab dw you got drama
Leah Fortner you must not be a psych major, because they all require either a master's degree or 3+ years of experience
"The five jobs that barely support you, let alone a baby"
omg thank you!! I was wondering how plan b was connected to this video LOL
Buzzfeed actually made a good video for an advertisement..... wow.
these apply if you're a gender studies, sociology, history, english and fuckimg art history majors.
Chris Garcia buzzfeed doesnt have common sense

The retail part, where the chicks knocked over the bottles. Too fuckin' true.
Why is Buzzfeed stressing me out to find a job just like my parents are EVERY DAY. Did you talk to my parents @Buzzfeed.

Do not relate. you need to prosper

thank you BuzzFeed. I needed this video
Yep, currently working in a call centre
THATS THE ADVERTISEMENTS THAT I LIKE
I love the two best friends💖
Good lord I do not miss the stress of college/figuring out what to do with my life. Your 20’s are a nightmare full of self-doubt and depression.
God this is incredibly accurate. My friends and I graduated and I'm at the restaurant, one is pushing papers and burning CDs at a law firm, and another is at a call center
I LOVE this video so much! I relate with it in a great deal! I've had almost every single of these jobs plus more!
...watching this in between submitting job apps.... fingers crossed that now that the holidays are upon us, more positions will be opening up...
It feels like an eternity since we had a nice video like that (idk its not creative but nice)
That's true though I work in a call center and trust me it's not the best job ever but I need the money so I have to stay strong
The sad but true reality, no one's going to hand you a briefcase after graduation. Its going to take time, and dedication to find that career.
Last year in high school 🙌🏾
This video keeps reminding me how much I hate working in customer service
Felt like that was all edited together really well
doing the call center job right now inn college and lemme tell u it truly kills
The story of my life right now!
awww this is really heartwarming
That's why you get internships during summer in college!!!
I'm graduating this semester and pretty sure this will be me after. Almost cried when she said that last line at the end :'(
Already had three of those jobs for a year each, left by myself not fired. Graduating this year 👌🏻 three years experience? No problem
"I think there's milk in my latte" killed me
FML all that for an ad CLASSIC BUZZFEED
i used to work as a barista at a coffee shop, so exhausting ...
Another good buzzfeed video
Girl Code ♡
Carly & Nessa
i was worried this was going to get all weird and "eventually you'll have babies!" like most other contraceptive advertisements. but this was actually really lovely.
LMAO when she walked into the plant
I work at a fastfood place $10.35 Aud an hour (or $7.90 USD). Life is great....
is this for graduating college or high school
this is sooo true! i work as telemarketer and retailer after graduate😅😅
Telemarketer, assistant, barista, server, stocker. Is it bad to say I've done ALL of these positions? I graduated hs over 10 years ago n stuck with 1 of the 5. I'm simple tho, I may not make $1000 a day but I also don't work all day either to achieve that. 40 hours a week is enuf for me. i almost cried from the realness !
true, amazing and #Motivating
I started my degree at 22, had work experience before college, went to school throughout college, graduated and applied to jobs that said I had no experience. I also know people who have taken the certificate route and have "experience" and still make less than $20 an hour. This is all a lie, even nursing grads have a high turn over rate and end up working in call centers. It's who you know not what you know and the job market is a burnout.
I LOVE THE GIRLS FROM GIRL CODE!❤️
Lol I needed this back in May
Currently at the retail job part of my life 😒
I literally choked when her boss ran into the plant
She is adorable!
I'm pretty sure life is not a fun set-piece sitcom where strangers inspire you to persevere (in your not actually that bad job) just when you need it most and artistic drifters sing songs for you.
I wouldn't know, necessarily, but I get a feeling this isn't how it works.
My life right now, but luckily my current job isn't as bad as any of these.
The actress was really good!
I totally relate to this right now... :(
this was....
surprisingly funny....
I was expecting a pun or joke when I hit Read more XD
I sure do enjoy a good pep talk when I'm talking to my bank
I love those last 10 seconds 😂😂
I have not graduated yet but I've had 4/5 so far
