That was a great episode, loved Jodie moaning about giving the NC back 😂confidence is everything on a bike and when you can't flat foot it makes a lot of difference. 👍
I am lucky enough to own 3 bikes, one of them being a Honda NC750X. The NC is my 'go to' bike of the three. Incredibly frugal, and does pretty much all I need. It's my second NC, but I opted against the DCT this time as my last one had issues with the DCT locking in 6th gear.
You Tuber Scott Warner 'Nothing To Prove' mentioned during a test of the Moto Guzzi V7 850 that the NC 750 was a competitor. Just as I decided to trade my CB500F on a new NC-DCT Honda discontinued the bike in Canada and they were instantly gone from dealers. I now have the V7 and it's very nice : Comfortable seat, low CG, effortless handling and shaft drive. It's so comfortable, I like it so much, it's a keeper. It's also got a huge range with excellent fuel economy and a 21 L tank. It might be worth a look if you haven't considered it.
There are always pros and cons with all bikes and it depends on every individual, as to which they prefer. I do agree with Jodie that the front of the NX500 is not pretty and Honda have made an error. The last incarnation of the CB500X was much better looking but that`s my opinion and others may prefer the new look. That swingarm on the NC is shocking for a Honda. Nice to hear the chat, as usual.
5:05 I have done over 1200 miles on my brand new 2024 NC 750X DCT. And I love it. However, the low centre of gravity claim is total bs in my opinion. This bike is as heavy to push around as the 2024 Honda Hornet 750 which does not claim to have a "low centre of gravity". The NC 750 is a 220 kg bike and you need to show maximum "respect" when you push it around to park it. It is just as easy as any 750 bike to tilt it over, and trust me, you do not want it to land on top of your leg!
@nicksepisode - Slow speed manoeuvring is also exactly the same as the Hornet 750, in my opinion. There is no noticeable difference. I know because I did my training and passed my test on a 2024 Honda Hornet 750.
For the way it rides I’d say the nc750x is the prefect candidate to be a dct. I rode a manual one but due to low revs I found I was changing gear very frequently whereas with dct you wouldn’t notice them. Also dct is much better in sport mode
Bought my 23 geared model nc last year, Nick and Jo, after watching you ride your old nc.. so it's good to see you test riding the 24 bike.. It's the Swiss army knife of motorbikes, l have upgraded the screen to a puig touring screen the bike is almost a perfect bike for me now... all the best
The Tiger 🐅 660 is similar to the NC but you get the benefit of a Triple & has 17.5L tank & do 200miles easily. The seat is to high for Jodie & is upswept so no good for short legs but NC be great for Jodie & Tiger 🐅 660 for Nick both similar Sport touring bikes but the Triple be more fun when you want it to.
NC = nice, sensible, practical, economical, built beautifully, comfortable, high tech and priced well. Every reason to buy one really, but I can’t help feeling it’s dull! That thing that you were saying about how a bike makes you feel is SO important (to me too!). You are never going to look back as you walk away from it are you! Hehe.. The Yams were the other extreme, but prob not an ideal all-rounder. By the way, I’m loving these vids! 😅
I disagree. I think they look great, and I think the designers' of the new BMW GS 1300 did too from sideways on. When I had Mine I had as many comments of "Nice Bike" as any of my Other bikes the black one looks particularly "Cool" IMO, not unlike the much more powerful BMW XR. and if you get the revs up on the manual version it's not dull at all it has a satisfying rumble as it passes at lower speeds too according to bystanders. As you can tell although I am now a BMW owner I am fiercely loyal to my old NC and I miss it. Not least because all my other bikes required panniers, tank bags or tail bags to carry anything. Unlike the NC with its genius "Frunk".
Hi John thanks for your comments, i always value viewers opinions, i really like the look of the new nc 21> but i guess that's subjective. the yams did wow us, but they could get us in trouble haha - glad you like the series - more to come
I think whatever bike you have, it’s the best bike….horses for courses….I returned to riding after 43 years of not riding….the DCT took a bit of time to use at very low speeds….but you get used to it….it is just a great bike, manual changing is a breeze if you want….once run in, it just purrs….but yeah we all love bikes, all have good points and not so good points…..hehe….just count ourselves lucky that we all ride.
Both nice bikes, you wont go far wrong with either. I was seriously considering a new NC750X recently whilst on the hunt for a comfy long distance bike with decent weather protection. In the end I bought myself a lightly used manual NT1100 (9.5K miles on it) with the full voyage pack and a few choice extras included (Official quick shifter, H&B engine bars, front n rear cameras etc) .. it cost the previous owner over £15K all brand new .... it cost me just less than the price of a new DCT NC750X. Fantastic bike that ticks all the boxes for me .. comfort and weather protection are outstanding, the engine is smooth with plenty of grunt and practicality is high with the included full luggage set. Only downside is the weight when manual maneuvering .. but when riding it's no issue at all and the bike is extremely well balanced. Well worth considering when you're thinking of bikes like those in this video 😉
I have had my 2019 NC750X from new and love it. I have thought about getting a new DCT version, but i think I would need a colour tft, cruise control and an upgraded swingarm to do so. That swingarm (it's the same on mine) has no business being on this bike. Really lets the model down imho!

And notice one more IDIOTIC thing : the inflating valves on these bikes - on the NC, with a single brake disc - it is BENT, while the access is, anyway, easy from the empty side.... On the NX500 - with 2x front brake discs - the valve is STRAIGHT - while the access is, pretty crappy on both sides !!! Obviously NO ONE notices these things, before they need to inflate the wheels ! 😆😆
I am, pretty much, convinced - those Honda engineers DO SMOKE some "good" stuff 🤢🤢
I love your write ups. You're not wrong, though
I'm on my 3rd NC750x DCT if you rode one you know
3rd one, what have you been doing to them haha
You can change modes just drop throttle off
Nice one
