So check this out I use a pump that feeds one end with the push button waters and back in the barrel so when it’s hot the water stays cool and it helps from freezing also
Is there a way to heat this system in the winter time? Or will you switch out for heated waterers? I’m definitely gonna do this.. i have many coops/runs that will need water supply. So this maybe the easiest way to achieve it for them all
I’ve been talking to rent a coop. The plan is to drop in a heater and then wrap the pipe in their insulation wraps. Also thinking about a pump that keeps the heated water circulating
I periodically bleach my rain capture barrels. I use garbage bins & flip the lid over & drill a giant hole and cover & seal in fine screen to prevent mosquitoes.
The black is going to make the water hot all the time in the summer. Living in Texas this would be very hot water. My chickens love cool water when it’s 110°.
I’ve had it set up for a few months and no issues with it being slimy or dirty. The rent a coop system unscrews very easily so I’ll probably pull the barrel off a few times a year to wash it out
I tried 4 different water feeders and failed miserable when the nibble breaks and you lose all the water out of your barrel.in 100° whether or in 20 ° whether you are definitely screwed.

Thank you so much! What are your thoughts on a water circulator and heater for the winter? Love you videos and book.
So happy to see you.😊 Thank you Sister 😊❤
Hello 🎉
Wow!!! Thanks!! Already got mine ordered!! This is what I’ve been looking for! Simply amazing!!!
Thanks for all the info.
We live in South West Ohio. How does you stop it from freezing up in the winter?
Love it it’s great!! I’ll remember this video so when I get my coop, chickens I do this for the water.
Love this! Silly question perhaps! Could the barrel be kept inside the run so I don't have to cut a hole into the hardware cloth? Thank you!
Absolutely! Good idea :)
@@purelychickens How did you end up fixing the hardware cloth? I love this idea!!!
Thanks 4 sharing . Always helpful information 👍👍🐔🐓🐓🐥
Perfect!

Black is to keep the sun from making algae grow in the storage. Try placing it in shade otherwise.
Mine is in the shade so no worries there! You can use a different color :)
How often do you clean out the barrel? Thinking about using this setup

Rent a coop ones never leak for me! Others have
Isn’t blue the accepted color for potable water?
You can use either…blue is better for long term storage but I have a lot of chickens so they’ll go through this often enough. It’s also in the shade 👍
Yes, keep it out of the sun!
I’m thinking black will keep algae down 😊

I don't have as many chickens as you do but I have 34. Was the kit enough for your or did you buy extra cups/nipples?
Keep the barrel 100% out of the sun. Also make sure it is food grade plastic.
You need a tripod so you can work, still talk.
