  • I have a more detailed video on the way we set up the PVC for our rainwater collection.
Also, here are the links to what’s being used with the IBC to filter!
    IBC covers: www.amazon.com...
Fittings that allow us to use a hose pipe from the IBC tote: www.amazon.com...
    Taste Pure filter: www.amazon.com...
    TastePure sediment filter: www.amazon.com...
I thought the sediment filter filtered down to 5 micron but it looks like it’s only 20!
    Thanks for watching!!

Awesome setup! The nice thing about rainwater is how soft it is naturally. Well water usually needs treated because of how hard the ground minerals make it. Take care on this next bout of cold we're getting.

This is true! I think even if we end up with a well, we will still put those canister filters in line. At least to soften it up a bit. You take care too! This one is gonna be colder than the last!

That is awesome, thank you so much. So that first flush do you have to take the cap off and let it drain after every time it rains? Or is the first flush just for the first rain storm of the season. I just ask bc it seems it'd kind of be a pain for every time it rains. Also it was the leaf eater i was wondering about bc i've seen them but never knew the name. Thank you again for all the great ideas like you helping me into canning i've done a little so far but this spring i want to start a garden and do some canning from that ideally. Now to get into water bath canning lol

We just have it unscrewed slightly at the bottom so it’s a slow drip to empty. I rarely take the cap fully off to clean it 😂 I need to do that now actually.
I’m so happy for you! Starting a garden this year is exciting!! I’ve got to get a little more of this land cleared before I really get to working on mine here. For now, just gonna be container gardening veggies.

@ReWildingOffGrid oh yes i'm a widower and by myself so i'm probably going to do something like container garden that sounds like a good idea. I also want to plant some dwarf trees like apple and fig i heard they grow good here.
