I love how Ayato’s humility is reflected in his teaser. Everyone else airs their station or has something of meaningful visuality but this one was very plain, almost dull, which perfectly represents how he sees himself: just a normal person.

Ayato is morally ambiguous and I love it. All he cares about is protecting the people he loves and he’ll resort to any means to do it. Kinda like Childe, but less bloodthirsty!

Almost everyone seems to be slightly obsessed with some shtick, pursuing some gimmicks and ignoring the “boring normal life”, while Ayato here is just being normal and doing what he has to do while admitting his limitations as a human. A surprising depth for a Genshin character.

Ayato being a politician is probably the type to put his people's needs over all else and he seems like he understands that this kind of approach can cause conflicts in the future. I don't think the trailer is supposed to make him look like a workaholic but rather someone with very slightly extreme views

I know a lot of people keep trying to draw the connection between Ayato and Otto, but I seriously don’t see it. minus sharing the same VA (which a lot of characters do from Honkai and Genshin- Paimon and Rosaliya, Noelle Lumine and Lilya, Lisa and Himeko, etc) there’s hardly any resemblance, hell we barely know anything about Ayato yet

I know I am going to be extremely unoriginal here, but Chris Hackney's vocal performance is so DAMN good. Yes, Akira Ishida is also fantastic in the role (even if I can't unhear Akaza in his performance), Hackney sounds so refined and elegant in the role. It's much different from his work as Dimitri and especially Khun and Giacchiao, but it works so well for the head of the Tenryou Commission. Now all we need is Tara Platt and Joe Zieja and we can have a Three Houses reunion in Genshin!

I used to like JP Voice-over more, but I can’t stop to hear in Akira Ishida performance Dostoevsky from Bungou Stray Dogs (screw me, I know, but nothing can do) Chris performance is totally nailed it!! IMHO:) He gives those vibes of cool persona who can have secrets behind the curtains. Like we all know, Ayato has exactly this kind of personality.
I KNOWWW! Such a skilled performance by him. He gives complexity to Ayato's character: gentle and reassuring yet authoritative, vigilant and commanding respect. Crazy how he can make him sound like a genuinely nice guy but with a darker side to him, like he could be really intimidating if he needed to be.

Ayato cares for others and makes sure that everyone has a home to come back to. He’s like me when I fight robbers and muggers with my Taekwondo skills, except I don’t use weapons.
Personally, he's the most relatable character in Genshin for me. I know the feeling that I must work hard for the sake of my family and friends, to the point that many looks up to me, and I often need to remind them that I'm just an ordinary person. The burden of responsibility can be rather crushing, stressful, frustrating, draining so much time and energy to the point that it can be rather unhealthy. However, people in position of power always need to stay calm and behave accordingly, doesn't matter how much it hurt for others to say bad things about us. Because we do this for the better good, for people that we love. The difference is that, Ayato get paid and I'm not getting paid LOL

I went from being super hyped for Ayato in his faceless and early reveal era, to not as hyped, to incredibly hyped again Absolutely pulling for him, don't even care how good he ends up being in game
After reading about him on wiki, seeing how beautiful his design and voice are, I have to say he's literally my favorite character in the game. His world views and general attitude not only align with mine, but he also has one of the greatest designs as well as a compelling backstory. What an amazing character, I love Zhongli's and Raiden's complex storylines, but Ayato is the closest to the most human as well as his ideology is one that I genuinely believe people should ascribe to irl. All of that while again being a hot dude with dope drip, one of the stronger characters when it comes to meta, being from Inazuma which works well for me since I'm a lowkey weeb (the guy is the literal head of a ninja clan), having my favorite element, elegant yet swift fighting style, using my favorite weapon type of the game... I couldn't ask for a more perfect character. I will get him to c0, but on his rerun watch me getting his c6 because my god, he's THE perfect well illustrated character of genshin so far.

I know I am going to be extremely unoriginal here, but Chris Hackney's vocal performance is so DAMN good. Yes, Akira Ishida is also fantastic in the role (even if I can't unhear Akaza in his performance), Hackney sounds so refined and elegant in the role. It's much different from his work as Dimitri and especially Khun and Giacchiao, but it works so well for the head of the Tenryou Commission. Now all we need is Tara Platt and Joe Zieja and we can have a Three Houses reunion in Genshin!

I used to like JP Voice-over more, but I can’t stop to hear in Akira Ishida performance Dostoevsky from Bungou Stray Dogs (screw me, I know, but nothing can do) Chris performance is totally nailed it!! IMHO:) He gives those vibes of cool persona who can have secrets behind the curtains. Like we all know, Ayato has exactly this kind of personality.
I KNOWWW! Such a skilled performance by him. He gives complexity to Ayato's character: gentle and reassuring yet authoritative, vigilant and commanding respect. Crazy how he can make him sound like a genuinely nice guy but with a darker side to him, like he could be really intimidating if he needed to be.

Personally, he's the most relatable character in Genshin for me. I know the feeling that I must work hard for the sake of my family and friends, to the point that many looks up to me, and I often need to remind them that I'm just an ordinary person. The burden of responsibility can be rather crushing, stressful, frustrating, draining so much time and energy to the point that it can be rather unhealthy. However, people in position of power always need to stay calm and behave accordingly, doesn't matter how much it hurt for others to say bad things about us. Because we do this for the better good, for people that we love. The difference is that, Ayato get paid and I'm not getting paid LOL

After reading about him on wiki, seeing how beautiful his design and voice are, I have to say he's literally my favorite character in the game. His world views and general attitude not only align with mine, but he also has one of the greatest designs as well as a compelling backstory. What an amazing character, I love Zhongli's and Raiden's complex storylines, but Ayato is the closest to the most human as well as his ideology is one that I genuinely believe people should ascribe to irl.
All of that while again being a hot dude with dope drip, one of the stronger characters when it comes to meta, being from Inazuma which works well for me since I'm a lowkey weeb (the guy is the literal head of a ninja clan), having my favorite element, elegant yet swift fighting style, using my favorite weapon type of the game... I couldn't ask for a more perfect character. I will get him to c0, but on his rerun watch me getting his c6 because my god, he's THE perfect well illustrated character of genshin so far.
