His main purpose was to store the electro gnosis. That was his "ambition" and he finally got that chance. He had thought that he finally achieved his purpose, and finally showed that he was strong enough for the gnosis. But it was only for a second. He failed. His purpose was to store the gnosis for eternity. And he wasn't able to complete that. He has now been rejected of the gnosis 2 times now. Once by Nahida right now, but previously he was discarded before he even got a chance, by his own creator, his mother, Ei. He was just stripped of his ambition by a God. Does that sound familiar? Let's see if he gets another ambition. Also yeah, I cried when he sounded so sad.
i think regardless of what others say, this series of cutscenes prove that scaramouche and nahida are very well-written. scaramouche because the story allows you to sympathize with him even though he's been a little shit and got what he deserved, and nahida because she was actually threatening and wasn't as much of a pushover as people expected her to be. this definitely is one of my favorite storylines so far in the game aside from the chasm's.

I rlly feel bad for him. his past is so saddd and u can tell the desperation in his voice, he just wants to fulfill his purpose and have a sense of meaning. and the way he’s like “please, not the gnosis”. 😢
For the first time… in my life I felt really sad to the point I cried… This ONE BOSS is special all the bosses I defeated playing games made feel victorious but this made feel super guilty… The light on his eyes… and his broken voice I didn’t knew if I was doing good…
I feel so bad for him, all he wanted was to have a purpose and to prove himself worthy to Ei after she abounded him when she thought he wasn't good enough. Everything he worked so hard for was taken away from him yet again. "I'll never go back!" His VA did such a good job of catching the emotion in this scene
He was still a harbinger without the gnosis[and more powerful than signora], just losing the gnosis hurt him so much emotionally that he completely gave up
This had me in tears when this happened. He's in so much pain and all he wanted was love and adoration, so desperate to get it from anywhere. I love Wanderer so much.
THE SCENE WHERE NAHIDA TOOK THE GNOSIS FROM HIM WRENCHED MY HEART OUT OF MY CHEST. I CANT STOP REWATCHING IT. THE LOOK OF DESPAIR AS HE TRIED TO GET IT BACK MAKES ME SO SAD
I feel like a lot of people hate Nahida after this, but you can see her slightly hesitate when Scara begins to plead. But I think she realized how stuck he was in his ways and how he needed to change or he’d never feel complete even after his ‘ascension’
Nahida's matrix and gathering of wisdom from everyone was op tho. Literally an entire nation pondered on how to kick Scara's ass and dhe was able to process all of it
During the whole thing, I was admittedly fed up because of Scara’s dialogue. He really took the whole “god” thing to the extreme, to - what I’m sure - was his own view of the gods. But when push comes to shove, he’s more similar to mortals than he likes to admit.
Honestly, Scaramouche needed this loss as a wake up call. Nahida and him aren't that different, so it's interesting to see their different approaches to their own situations. He deserved and needed this loss to finally understand himself and to let go of his past, that's probably why he will get an anemo visions. Anemo represents people who need to free themselves from something, but also people who have already freed themselves.
words can't describe how bittersweet it was to watch the heart-wrenching scene of his desperation to get the gnosis back omg. that was his whole life's work an purpose - to attain the gnosis and become the vessel of it like he was supposed to be all those centuries ago. he rejects humanity but he has such a human ambition☹ he denounces his own humanity, especially his emotions(because that was what made ei decide to let him go) when he's one of the most emotionally driven characters in the game! it's ironic, really. he's beautifully written and i will continue to yap about that till i die
He probably wanted the gnosis, because the gnosis symbolize his ambition. Basically without it, he thinks he's not worthy to be a human. Or maybe he treat the gnosis as his "heart" to feel that he's a human just like others. But when he received an anemo vision, there's a chance he treats the vision as his new "heart"

His voice actor is insane. They did such a good job. At 2:38 he sounds so crazy and arrogant. and then when he got the gnosis taken away he truly displayed that emotion he had it was just so good
that final scene for scaramouche is some of the craziest voice acting I've seen in this game, it worked so well
This cutscene is probably one of the saddest ones...it really shows the despair he felt and how much he craved having that Gnosis. The "That's mine!" part especially hurt.
“Reality… is pain!”
Bro lost the 50/50
Qiqi:
NOOO FUCK THIS I ACTUALLY CRIED WHEN THE GNOSIS GOTEN TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM, IK IT WAS THE RIGHT THING BUT THE EXPRESSION ON HIS FACE

i can't believe its been a year since this arc. i still come back to watch the cutscenes every once in a while. this was when genshin was at its best era and i was so excited as an early scaramouche fan.
It's been two years now
honestly genshin would never feel the same again after Sumeru (at least for me)
@@ayoc5760same.. I agree. I have stopped playing genshin for a while.. but I might come back if there is any major scara content (he MIGHT be my favourite..)
I fell so bad for him... don't worry Scara, when you come home I'm gonna give u all of my love so you will never be sad again 🥺
With an Anemo Vision, that shows that he has found another ambition, because visions are bestowed to those who have strong ambitions.
Lets take care of him
I'm play Aether but I create Lumine ID just for him😂 he need so much love

@@js4nev48how is this comment corny 😭
ill never get over how good scara's eng voice actor is
Ironic that the cable behind his back snapped. The puppet's string snapped, rendering him, 'lifeless'
I've never seen a desperation portrayed so strongly in this game
What I believe is that Scaramouche didn’t want the gnosis for power. He just wanted memory of his mother…
Good Job to Scara’s VA. Made me cry an ocean
Also yeah, I cried when he sounded so sad.
same :(
i think it was because he saw it as his “heart”, his sole purpose for existing
i think regardless of what others say, this series of cutscenes prove that scaramouche and nahida are very well-written. scaramouche because the story allows you to sympathize with him even though he's been a little shit and got what he deserved, and nahida because she was actually threatening and wasn't as much of a pushover as people expected her to be. this definitely is one of my favorite storylines so far in the game aside from the chasm's.
i want to give him a hug and tell him it's all okay, even if he hates it. this scene was so sad, we won but, it didn't feel like a win. ):
Scaramouche: a fight between gods
Nahida: in your dreams
Nahida: takes the gnosis
Scaramouche: windows xp shutdown sound
the moment when all of sumeru worked together in helping the traveller find a way to defeat the balladeer through the akasha GAVE ME CHILLS. an amazing ending to the sumeru chapter! i dont think it could have ended better than this tbh
RIGHT! Gives the same vibes of when we're fighting Ei and Miko shows up to help the traveler and have them seek out the hopes of the fallen
i don’t see someone evil, i see a kind soul who’s been hurt too many times and has gone dark and been corrupted. I rlly feel bad for him. his past is so saddd and u can tell the desperation in his voice, he just wants to fulfill his purpose and have a sense of meaning. and the way he’s like “please, not the gnosis”. 😢
For the first time… in my life I felt really sad to the point I cried… This ONE BOSS is special all the bosses I defeated playing games made feel victorious but this made feel super guilty…
The light on his eyes… and his broken voice
I didn’t knew if I was doing good…

For real the traveller and nahida are pathetic asf
@@soralaaa bruh he’s literally fine traveler and nahida are literally helping him 😐
I feel so bad for him, all he wanted was to have a purpose and to prove himself worthy to Ei after she abounded him when she thought he wasn't good enough. Everything he worked so hard for was taken away from him yet again. "I'll never go back!" His VA did such a good job of catching the emotion in this scene
My heart couldn't stand seeing him in pain. I hurt so much when I saw this Cutsceen. 😢
“I’ll never go back” I don’t know why but when I heard this it was very heartbreaking.
I know it's late but what dou you think he means by this sentence? Back to her mother? Back to the Fatui headquarters (because he failed)?

Then, he's just nothing 🙃
he quite literally feels like nothing without the gnosis:(

He was still a harbinger without the gnosis[and more powerful than signora], just losing the gnosis hurt him so much emotionally that he completely gave up

this hurt so bad when he screamed "thats mine!"
i love how she completely ignored the scaramouche after he fell
I like how we used the wisdom of the people of sumeru against scara. Similar to the time we used the ambitions of the people of inazuma against ei
Like mother like son Ey?
I wonder how the traveler is gonna pull that off in Fontaine
@@KidNamedKewlHam maybe use the judgement of the people of fontaine to bring justice to whoever we're dealing with?

I havent played the quest yet but knowing how people describe nahida. I really hope she somehow "saves" him like yk helps him or something like that.
Apparently she did, he’s apparently only in a coma and nahida is hiding him in hopes to maybe help him.
@@ventiwhovented499 ahkk

I feel like a lot of people hate Nahida after this, but you can see her slightly hesitate when Scara begins to plead. But I think she realized how stuck he was in his ways and how he needed to change or he’d never feel complete even after his ‘ascension’
why is he doing the "I need a hug" ahh thing every time he speaks 😭
Nahida: Scaramouche! I've come to bargain!
As Batman once said
"You were never a God, you were never even a man"
"Ill never go back" that sentence really shattered my heart into pieces😭😭😭😭😭😭
First time he ever said "Please!"
the part where nahida says "the first sage of buer" it sent shivers
You know what sucks?
I was recording the cutscenes and fight, and when it was over, I lost the footage.
Damn I felt that
Ya know, ngl “you can’t even defeat me in a dream” is a pretty badass line from scaradouche.
don't mind me repeating his heart wrenching desperate attempt again and again cause HOLY THE RAW EMOTION IS SOMETHING ELSE! 8:59
scaramouche: I AM THE ALL KNOWING-GOD
*dies immediately *
Omg when he says I’ll never go back the music shifts to the inazuma tune and instrumentals 😭😭😭
Any way the wind blows. Bohemian Rhapsody. The Wanderer's theme song.
omg ty for posting it!
At this cutscene the animation just got frozen (I play on a potato) and all I could hear was their voices... I'm glad there's people like you who shared it

The fact that he did all of this just for a recognition even a little bit fom his mother(ei) is kinda sad for me. The best cutscene in this fight is the one where you see everyone trying to help you fight him. You see the citizens getting the question from nahida through the akasha and sumeru feels united for the first time since king deshret’s death
The divine will’s soundtrack playing over while he’s screaming “its mine” trying his best to get it back and lose hope it stings😭

The music that plays when Scaramouches gnosis is taken away sounds like the trailer theme for Raiden shoguns "nightmare"
