The Black Panther Party was one of the greatest organizations ever, Fred Hampton was a legend. Their politics came into direct conflict with the FBI because they were a direct threat to the ruling class. The United States painting of groups like this as terrorists is some of the greatest propaganda ever done. Loved the review, and this movie was amazing! Definitely among some of my favorites ever!
Need these reviews this year more than ever. I wasn’t nearly as thorough watching movies this year.

Really happy you gave Jesse Plemons' performance in Game Night a shout out. One of the highlights of that movie for sure.
This movie was extremely good at showing the nature of 20th century police oppression. Despite having the forces of the entire government behind it, and being incredibly powerful, the tactics the FBI brings to bear against the Black Panther Party are still kind of primitive. Sending in a guy with a wire, printing a fake leaflet, and when it comes to violence using just regular cops with guns instead of any kind of special agent type. Makes it feel more raw when violence is done against the Panthers, like it's not a totalitarian state they cannot defeat. Rather it's an incredibly paranoid state, fearing that organized people from minorities and the working class will reveal it to be fragile and shaky.
