I have been a Cop for 14 years and you are 100% correct. I love fast cars and motorcycles. We are losing freedoms at an exponential rate in the USA. Stupid actions like he mentioned will only give tyrants ammunition and more power to do that faster.

You are the gun that those very tyrants point at the public to take those freedoms away day by day. How 'bout some self-awareness and realize you're punishing the wrong people and should be going after those making corrupt-for-profit law. You also have the choice of officer's discretion in nearly any ticket you choose to write. Don't act like you're all being forced into tyranny...

They're underpaid, there aren't enough of them and idiots treat them poorly. As a young man, I rode in a LOT of cop cars, either to the station for bailing out, or dropped off into my parents' custody and never ONCE did I think the cop was responsible for me being a dumbass. @@mcseforsale I've known quite a few, and I have said for almost 2 decades now since I nearly went into law enforcement myself, that they needed to be paid better. At the time I considered it at 20 years old, I was already making 42K a year to operate a forklift and would have taken a 15k pay cut to start... If they were paid more(or properly spent their current budget), they might attract better quality people to the positions that wouldn't be so silently complicit in watching some other bad apples get away with things they shouldn't...

Casey ever heard of a thing called freedom? We live in America why are we talking about unjust laws, you clearly don't care about the country or the car community otherwise you'd take a look at the fact that lambo people and cops do a fine job of making themselves look bad, we dont need you on a soapbox about how you wanna gobble a cops schlong..... we shouldn't have effing speed limits on highways, we shouldn't require ridiculous emissions crap on the small amount of cars that choose to modify. As much as I agree with you on a lot of the points you brought up. DDE channel is dedicated to the supercar “lifestyle”. Rallies/road-trips, car builds, and just showing what it’s like to _daily drive exotics._ Then on the flip side, they also video interactions they have with cops. You drive a fast car, you’re going to get pulled over. We’ve all been pulled over from time to time for speed. Their videos have been featured on a few “audit” RUclips pages, where they talk about our rights as citizens. Just like cops make sure we aren’t breaking laws, we need to also been holding them accountable and making sure their policing is appropriate. When SOME officers see guys in supercars, they already have preconceived notions. They think it’s a good way for them to make their quota, and make the county a few bucks. Just because Damon and Dave know their rights, doesn’t make them jerks. We should all fight our tickets.
Edit: just finished watching… It speaks VOLUMES when you said “now I have no interest in watching these people”. If you’re going to make a video on them, and act like you know what they’re REALLY about, you should probably go ahead and do a minimal amount of research. Not just base it off of rumors, and thumbnails and titles. Sorry Casey, but this was pretty ridiculous. But you’re standing up for what YOU believe in, and I respect that alone. Your voice has been heard. Good luck with whatever is to come.

I think Casey would do better if he studied channels like Drew Gooden and Cody Ko. If you critique something just being mad, the story is "This RUclipsr is mad." Instead, you need to show the offending clips from other videos and point out objective problems with individual clips. When you say that you've never seen someone's videos but they are always doing XYZ, you lose some credibility as it sounds like you are uninformed on the topic. Also, when you roast someone, it needs to be funny or specific to the person. Saying people you don't know have "daddy issues" is only funny if there's some truth or common generalization to it.
Don't get me wrong, someone needs to point out bad elements of car culture but the message shouldn't come across as "old man yells at cloud."

Thank you Casey. I'm with you 100%. It reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend many years ago. He'd gotten his first motorcycle. He talked about how he was 'racing' cars and blowing their doors off. But he wasn't racing anything, he was just passing unsuspecting motorists at high rates of speed. So I told him that they were just people going home, or to pick up their kids or to get groceries. That he was breaking the law and that this sort of behavior makes car drivers irritated--or worse. That it reflects on all motorcyclists, and I told him about how cars have purposely swerved into me or people have thrown garbage at me when I was riding at legal speed--and that the only reason people would do this was because someone else on a motorcycle made them angry at some point. I then told him that I cared about him and didn't want to see him hurt, arrested or imprisoned, and to take the racing class that I'd taken, or to sign up for track days where he could ride with people who had the same goal of riding quickly, and where you could truly test your skills in a controlled environment. He seemed to get it.

So many local race tracks have closed, or are on the brink of closing for myriad of reasons. More and more that is pushing people to the streets. My biggest fear is governments will use this as a justification to put kill switches, gps speed limiters, and/or issue speeding tickets based on GPS measurements in all new cars. This is already in motion in EU countries. Freedom of movement will be greatly restricted if/when this comes to pass. Old cars will be enthusiasts' only refuge. Until of course they require retrofits to add these systems to all cars in order to obtain a registration.

I think what is interesting too is how costly it is to go run on a track. Locally where I am there are no government inspections of road going vehicles. The up front costs of street racing are $0, and everyone ignores the risks. Where I am, tracks are a hour plus drive away, seasonal, have a fairly intensive tec inspection, high fees for usage and a steep learning curve (mandatory # of hours of track time with an instructor in the passenger seat that you are paying for). The car scene is definitely gate keeping younger people out of the sport and all other regular car related costs are constantly going up anyway.

DDE's videos are rarely bad with Cops. Most cops know who they are and respect them and they respect each other. With Savage garage, maybe you should stay quiet about targeting Randy's channel. I completely agree that trying to rouse the coppers is dumb, but I no longer have respect for the police as an institution. The police arrested and shut down people's business and lives, they arrested people who went to church, and they will arrest one side and ignore the other. While an individual officer can earn my respect, it will have to be earned because I no longer give it out free. Unpopular opinion probably, but I have seen it too much myself and experienced it myself, the corruption of the system. But as I said, doing dumb things to get the cops to do something is childish and stupid.

I like your content. I have enjoyed your stories on VinWiki, which is where I first saw you as well. I am not sure what your motivation is here, but I don't agree with your commentary as it is a huge generalization. I can agree people should never race in the street or mess with cops or put the wrong light on folks who own exotics. I get that. I don't agree with the shade you are throwing at other RUclipsrs. There is a lot of hubris to associate all car guys as not liking something because you don't like it. That's just wrong. To be direct it's petty and makes you seem envious of their fame. If you watch DDE, they do have shenanigans, this is true. However, they don't promote a lot of what you suggest they do. They've been featured on audit channels for the proper way to communicate and deal with police who are clearly targeting exotics because it is easy.
You, like they, are going to have your set of antics to get attention to your channel. Sort of like this video. Which will get attention as it stirs controversy and is divisive.
I can understand where you are coming from, but I don't think your message is measured or honest. In some ways, you are even besmirching VinWiki, which helped you get your name into the minds of your audience.
Focus on your own channel and your own content and don't focus on what others are doing. You'll have your audience and they'll have there's and there will be crossover.

I had the same thought about that Vinwiki video. All that kid was doing was tempting fate. Yes, that's part of being a kid. But as kid, I learned a very valuable lesson about loosing things I loved because of other's lack of responsibility. I used to ride 3 wheelers, spent 10 years on Honda ATC's. Started on a 110, got a 200x and ended with a 350x. But I watched all sorts of people do all sorts of stupid things(I could only imagine what that could have been today). But people started complaining, blaming the machines for their own behavior. It only took a few years, in 1986 they were banned. Yes, I got a great deal on my 350x. But there was never going to be 400x or 650x etc. It was over, Honda and the other guys were legislated out of the game. When people say, but cars are different, no it isn't. There are those in this world who want to take as much away from us as possible. I can tell you when it comes to cars, that paperwork has been sitting in a drawer in Washington DC since at least the 70's. They are just biding their time, they will wait generations if necessary. The Honda 250R, Yamaha Tri-Z 250 and the Tecate from Kawasaki were beasts. I was Luckey enough to rip my buddies Tri-Z 250 as a teen and you had to have a healthy respect for those machines or things would go south real fast. There's a modern company that makes 3 wheeler chassis for the CR500 motor. I've also had my share of CR125R's and the 2 biggest ones I regret selling were the 89 Honda Pilot with the ATV racing CR500 kit and my 89 TRX250R.

Speed limits as a rule don't make sense, you can't apply a fixed condition to a changing situation, it's more dangerous to drive a Honda at 60mph than a Lamborghini at 100mph, an AWD car can drive faster in rain or snow than a 2WD, I even say that speed limits are dangerous, I've seen people roll over an SUV on a curve and not understanding why that happened since they were below the limit, speed limits are a suggestion, and that's how I understand them, treating it as a rule is a mistake, want to reduce the number of accidents, create drivers who know how to respect the limits of the car and know how to interpret road conditions.

I think he's a great person, but definitely more and more people everyday glorify bad behavior, and Ed has not exactly done the best job downplaying it. I still love Ed, I don't think it's 100% his fault, it's hard when everyone in the car community nowadays wants to be an "Outlaw", but he's got the money and power, he could do a better job teaching good values. He used to when he first started his RUclips Channel, he can do it again.
The biggest problem with the car community, in all honesty, is the lack of policing towards people with money. I'm not saying shut it down, I grew up and love things like the Cannonball Run and the GumBall Run, but we respected a lot of those people, not because they had money, but because they were worth respecting. Nowadays, any idiot with a Lamborghini is like "Respect Me." Nah man, that's not given. Respect is not Bought, Respect is Earned.
I've always wanted to do the Cannonball Run, and probably will do it one day, but more and more everyday, the lack of interest in safety and respect for other people from the so called "Cannonballers" has somewhat deterred me. It's the same everywhere sadly, I simply won't attend most car shows in the UK now apart from big track events and classic car shows where owners are typically older and behave better! Everyone else these days is risking life and limb to try and get on RUclips, people have literally been killed, it's saddening
This change of direction has already ruined it for everybody and the genuine enthusiasts

I’m close with a young teen up-and-coming car guy in my family, we pretty much text daily and hang out a few times a year. The amount of times I’ve had to talk him off of how we should go to an illegal car meet or how he’s going to go around drifting when he can drive or various other crazy stuff is insane. Anyone who’s spent time with a young car guy will get it, there’s so little positive car influence fed to them on the internet. I do my best to rub off and point him right. I’ve already told him we will do a track day or something when he’s old enough, and I don’t even have that much experience with those. Just he’s a good kid and I want him to enjoy cars instead of spending time in jail.

Much respect Casey. Growing up I always loved the sensation of speed and after reading Alex Roy's autobiography romanticizing both the speed and freedom behind the cannonball run record attempts, I always thought the cannonball record was a cool achievement. Risky and illegal yes, but at least calculated. Now that I'm older the dream is to drive fast legally and safely on a public road like you mentioned. I have to say what really bothers is the whole mentality to the approach of illegal driving. It went from deliberately trying to avoid breaking the law in-front of people to endangering others for fun. The trend of "cutting up traffic" is becoming way too popular and its always people that have no regard for the safety of others. It's becoming internet trendy to use people as autocross cones on the highway, its absurd.

I wouldn’t say that DDE intentionally gets into confrontations with police. If you actually watch the content you can see that those were organic incidents

Casey, first off Canada is a great country. I’m a proud CANADIAN.
You are 100% correct in your statement that glorifying excessive speeding and giving law enforcement the finger only makes people emulate their internet heroes.
Street take overs, group speeding in traffic, and this whole rev/pop/flame culture is just going to lead to more regulations that harm the entire car community.
Time to take the power of internet fame and do something good with it.

Ironic how the only reason you have any semblance of an audience is a video titled "The Viper that got me kicked out of my small town" that outlines you driving illegally. This video made me lol and cringe at the same. Sucks to hear you try to clown on Ed who's given so many people like you a platform. He's the reason I was subbed to your channel.

I think what it boils down to is the fact that some folks have a hard time drawing the line between civil liberties and law. Some laws encroach on civil liberties and some civil liberties need to be regulated or else it'll be a jungle out there. I say let's make the Cannonball Run a legitimate and annual event where people from both sides work together to promote a healthy relationship of respect and understanding. Something like Le Mans where it's part track and part public roads. That's my 2 cents 😁 Another great vid, Casey. Keep up the good work.

So many people say “this is what happens when race tracks get closed” but in reality most of the people who do this stuff have little to no experience at a race track. I’m my experience in racing, the people you see at the track on a regular basis and the people you see at car shows tend to have very different interests when it comes to cars

I have 2 vehicles that are capable of 150mph... Neither have ever seen more than 120, and that was sort of by accident. It was however in a relatively safe environment. There's a time and place for everything and doing donuts in a busy intersection ain't it! Cutting up traffic on a busy highway at more than double the speed limit ain't it! I firmly agree Casey! Try to civilized people!

Not a fan of the "real car people" retoric. I widely agree with your sentiment, but even your cars are often "illegal" in some way.
Respect you putting yourself out there and having a personal vision even when I don't agree.
Those that just bait cops are idiots, stay off the radar if you want to keep your ability to enjoy cars beyond the administrative pale. And consider those around you, the danger you put them in, and their annoyance level. But at the end of the day, lambos are the GSXR of the car world, they attract a certain type of owner.

Your showing viewers here all drama and stuff they dont want in an automotive channel. Sitting next to your lambo and Ducati dont make it a carvideo. Calling out larger youtube channels to get off on their clout also is pretty thin...if you cant focus on your own shit and entertain that way, then do something else than youtube? Youre successful at other things, focus on that, and dont loose sleep over shit you dont control, or better yet, is none of your god dang business

One thing I would say, I have found Ed Bolian to be a pretty reasonable and level headed guy. Im impressed by his reply to youre text, he could have gone off about how youre opinion is unreasonable. But instead kept it short and sweet.
That being said, I totally agree. I am worried that everyone is a race to one up each other on YT, and I see no end in sight.
I was (shamelessly) watching a DDE video where Damon Fryer was pulled oveer by a cop. He obviously was being short and ignorant to try and get a rise out of the cop. In this particular video he was just so over the top obviously trying to bait the cop. And at that same time, the cop says " it really seemed like you were asking me to pull you over by pulling up beside me and revving your engine before you zoomed passed"
Thats when I realized these guys really are just running around trying to get more views, and realized the cop vs supercar videos get the clicks.
Im ashamed to say I am in canada too, and I am jealous of Ed, and Damon for being able to live their dreams making fake videos online that glamorize a lifestyle that's mostly made up. While I'm stuck here trying to make legit videos that just aren't getting the clicks.
Its too bad even this video of yours isnt getting pushed through the algorithm. You have 200k subs, and less than 20k views after 2 weeks.
Unfortunately Im not sure anything will change. But What I can say, is I am going to check out more of youre content. and have started making a more conscious decision to click away from videos that glamorize illegal activities. Or not click on them in the first place.
