In the military grade 550 cord, each manufacturer had a specific color code so it could be identified during an investigation upon a failure of a parachute.
I've fallen in love with the mill-C-III 5-50cord during my service, but I wanted your brief opinion on HOKINETY para cord (found on Amazon) Because I would like cord in multiple colors for more recreational/decorative uses while I'm teaching my son knots and hitches for hunting and fishing. Including my wife who likes the things I make occasionally like para cord bottle carriers after the manufactured handle breaks or thermoses that just suck to carry around.
Typically when i hear milspec on gear or arms, i just think contract went to the lowest bidding company to make the stuff. Which doesnt necessarily Translate to product made to high tolerance or best material. But in the case of parachords, id have to say milspec is definitely going to be thehigher best quality product.
Hello. So which 550 cord has the most flexible, softest or pliable outer covering? I need a soft paracord to use gutted on an intricate knife handle wrap. Thanks.
I just bought a Spyderco Chapparral Raffir Noble, how much will you charge me to clean up and polish the factory edge? Do you have a way we can communicate away from RUclips?

Since I don't jump out of planes with it, I'll just keep using the commercial.
😂

Which brand from the two is superior and where can I purchase them. Thx
Goldberg all the way. I'm in the UK and bought on amazon. 50 feet £17 .00 GBP.
It really is worth it.
@@Countryboy071 Thank you

Agree with you there
After years of paracord, I find Goldberg far superior. Just my opinion. Expensive but worh it to me.
Can you link where you got your scissors at? Couldn't find the exact ones on Amazon. Thanks
Similar on Amazon will work.
Mil spec Paracord will literally hold 550 pounds.

5040 Type III - Its 100% Nylon which will lay better and last longer.
Okay i wanted to know that which paracord is use to make bracelets. Nylon or polyester?
Nylon is WAY better in my opinion!
Great explanation. What paracord would you recommend for tarp/tent guy lines?
Probably the 550 5040 type III stuff, military grade. It is the only cord I use for most tasks like that.
@@Sweetknives where could I found them? I found a commercial grade from a mitary surplus store, which is a big disappointment.

6:25 that does NOT look like copper
It is copper, a thin piece of wire, very thin.

@@Josh-ol7jgI agree. 38 years working in DOD Navy machine shops. I have extensive experience with brass and copper. That sure looks like brass to me.
Military grade paracord will NOT be made from polyester.
I concur
Yes, that’s stated.
I bought some military grade 550 cord off of Amazon and I got the cheap crappy cord. It was not military grade just cheap china crap.
