I never leave comments, but I hate that JD mentioned the negative ones he got. He is such a genuine guy. He shares a lot… he doesn’t have to. He’s successful, a guys guy, and a girls guy - an impossible combination to find. He loves sports and a pint, but was raised with two sisters and is a silly, fun dad of three girls. He is a fan of Kermie and the Rainbow Connection song, can braid hair, laugh at himself, and have a great attitude seemingly all the time. I think he is a fantastic actor, too.
To mention is to confront, it was a very important part of his point. I think everyone should do the same. It's a measure of his character. Never bottle things up.
I can only echo what previous commenters have said about 1. Iona’s ability to make people relaxed and bring out the best. 2. How likeable, humble and genuine Jamie. He’s clearly a very talented man who’s never lost touch with his values and what’s important

Iona what Jamie is saying about his dad is absolutely spot on I worked in the royal when he worked there and no one had a bad word to say about him he was a true gentleman and did treat everyone with the same respect from Domestics to porters to people in top jobs listening to Jamie he’s just like his dad . Did you watch the interview? Not everyone wants their children on public eye. He might be an actor but he wants some degree of privacy especially with his family and children for that matter. It’s an interview and the things that he can say depends on the questions being asked. If he is asked about his family, he can’t stop talking about them. He loves his wife, his children and his family. Just because he is an atheist doesn’t make him a bad person.

Do you think we are idiots? Dakota was Jamie's costar in the Shades films and otherwise they have nothing to do with each other.
In every interview Jamie speaks full of love and praise about Amelia, he literally adores her.
The way they look at each other and talk about each other tells you everything you need to know.
Dakota has been with Chris Martin since October 2017 and they have been engaged for a few years. They recently announced their marriage officially and publicly.

Funnily enough Jamie was over on Mull probably rough same time this interview/golf session was happening filming for Netflix The Undertow.
I was driving back from a day trip from Iona to Salen & they were still filming in Bunessan. It was just pure luck they were on a quick break I was able to chat to Jamie.
I’m from NI so we just chatted away about home & I was asking him how he was enjoying Mull. A really humble down to earth guy. Exactly how he came across on this video. He was a real pleasure to chat to.
But I loved this video the aerial shots of Iona are simply spectacular! The music & flow of the interview also. A very enjoyable watch indeed. Im not into golf as a sport but the way this was all put together I found myself enjoying watching you guys play in fact I found it quite relaxing! It’s a beautiful golf course. More of a hidden gem I would say & I can see why it would appeal to golf enthusiasts. Im back over on Mull in Sept - family connections so I will definitely pop over to Iona weather permitting & explore a bit more of this incredible island x

Finally got my wife to subscribe🤣. She was born in and spent her early years in Glasgow and often looks over my shoulder at the beautiful scenery in the vids, but Jamie Dornan closed the deal. We are fans of him and you and both thought this video was just beautifully done (both visually and the words spoken). Thanks to you both.

Just another brilliant episode, must confess I didn't know who Jamie was, I've never watched The Fall or any of the Shades of Grey films, but what a lovely humble down to earth guy he is. His story of meeting his wife reminded me of my parents meeting, they met many years a go in bar and my Dad plucked up the courage to talk to my mum and at the end of the evening my mum said to her best friend "I think I've met the man I'm going to marry" and my Dad walking home with his friend said "I think this girl could be the one" they were married for 49 years when my mum sadly passed away. I guess sometimes you just know. Thank you for another wonderful video Iona ❤
He’s a great actor. I can recommend all his films and tv shows - you can skip the trilogy that doesn’t need mentioning lol. But check out his IMDB you’ll be pleasantly impressed.

Jamie in "The Fall" got me into his work. I could listen to him speak all day long. Love that accent.
The most intelligent, insightful and sometimes even touching interview. Many people mention how down-to-earth Jamie is. At the same time his vocabulary is impressively rich and varied. I wouldn't be surprised if he were trying his hand in prose writing. After all, talented people are talented in many ways and I'm sure more than one Muse has kissed him. I'd be the first to buy a book authored by him!
I'd like to ask him a couple of questions about his acting method but he is not on social media. Pity.

I didn't know IONA and I didn't know her RUclips channel, but what have I missed so far. I have to say a formidable program and formidable Iona. From this moment I subscribed to her channel to follow it because it stands out in a very positive way from other programs. And JAMIE DORNAN, what a humble, honest, genuine, kind, funny and always full of values person and this interview with Iona is proof of that. This is what the public likes, we need a public figure like Jamie Dornan. Jamie is my favorite actors, because it is always a pleasure to see him in his films, a very good actor who manages to be very well in all the characters he has played. For me he is among the Top male actors in the world of cinema.

Do you think Jamie knew Iona would bring up Fifty Shades in this interview and why? It's been 10 years. There have been lots of interviews but not all positive but to me it reflects on the whole cast when continues to bring up. Everyone was good in FS!
It was a MOVIE and a really good love story. Would have been good without all the sex but it was on the page. Loved Ana & Christian and both actors that played them in FS!! What about other movies like Untogether and Endings Beginnings? Were those well received? Everyone has their own opinion!

Yes I really think Jamie knew Iona would ask him, FS will carry it on his shoulders for a very long time is a film that has been discussed a lot both positively and negatively and I also really liked the saga and also the two of them, very good. Let's also say that FS was massacred by critics and Jamie was too but he was able to get out of it unscathed, so much so that he continued to make other films even with a fair amount of success, like The Fall with this series I discovered Jamie and how good he was as an actor so much so that he became my favorite actor and I watched almost all of his films and series where he always remains very good and impeccable, like in "My Dinner With Hervé or Anthropoid or The Siege of Jadotville or A Private War or Wild Mountain Thyme or The Tourist", just to name a few. Untogether and Endings, Beginnings whether these two films were well received, I couldn't tell you, I'm not a documentary about them and in any case I saw EB and I liked it a lot and I think it reflects the reality of today and perhaps even of the past. I haven't seen U yet unfortunately I have to make up for it but it will certainly be interesting.
Jamie is so so grounded. Love listening to him and of course Iona brings out the best in everyone. Loved this session.

What a delightful interview in a beautiful Place. I am not a lover of golf but am a huge fan of Jamie Dorman. As usual he is charming honest and open, a really good solid bloke. Kudos to the interviewer as well - thoughtful questions.
Well he was over around the time this interview was taking place on Mull filming for an eight part Netflix production called The Undertow released sometime in 2025 which you should keep an eye out for.
His character plays identical twins. A lot of locations on Mull were used during the filming. I’m looking forward to watching & spotting all the different areas & seeing how they collectively put it all together & capturing the atmosphere of Mull. I’m over here twice a year as we’ve family who live on Mull & it’s a really special place to enjoy visiting.
I caught up with him when they were on a break in Bunessan on my way home from a day trip at Iona & I’m from NI myself so we just chatted about back home & how he was enjoying Mull. Basically exactly how he came across on this interview is how this guy is in real life. One of the most down to earth actors ever & just a really nice guy.
If you ever get the chance you should definitely visit Mull & Iona
There is a word Iona uses quite frequently in her videos, that word is “magical”, and I think that is actually the definition for her and the teams content. Each episode and video has a magical, almost ethereal feeling to it. I know the soft ambient music helps, but it all comes together in such a beautiful way. Best golf RUclips channel by far. ❤

Gave up social media 4 yrs ago and have to say it was one of the best decisions I made. Great interview Iona, young Dornan is a credit to N Ireland.
Iona is such a breath of fresh air compared to the other "girl golf" RUclips channels that are only selling their female parts. Don't get me wrong....Iona is a beautiful person, inside and out, but she has more depth and substance to her, not to mention she is one helluva golfer! Lover her interviewing skills and down to earth approach to all she encounters on her journeys!

Iona’s way to making a guest feel so at easy is fantastic. Paired with 10/10 visuals and grading this series would not feel out of place on any the channel. I’ve said before this is the best golf content in RUclips and it’s truly unique, also showing of parts ok the UK like Iona and Mull is great, not many people realise the beauty they have under their noses.
Whisper is quietly. Along with No Laying Up, easily the best golf channel on RUclips.

Seen most of Jamie’s work and think he is an excellent actor with so many skills in his films……now after this interview to my mind Jamie Dornan is a lovely man and an example of an excellent human being…..he should be lecturing future actors to put family first, compassion and friends before work. Also Jamie gibt es nicht nur 1 mal auf der Welt😅 jeder Mann wird seine Family an erste Stelle stehen, wenn die Frau gnadenlos immer hinter ihrem Mann steht, ihre Family im Griff hat, und auch selbst ihre Geld verdient! Leider konnte ich nicht alles Verstehen, auch über Fifty Shades, die Millionen Filme! Dakota hat ihn zum Schluss ausgesucht, hätte sie es nicht gemacht, wäre AW heute nicht so Reich! Loved this. What a smashing wee course, so unique. Kudos to the residents and their love of the game. My dad was a scratch golfer and growing up in Scotland every family vacation was near a golf course, some just like this. Always cut down clubs in the bag for me and my brother. Super interview Iona and I like Jamie even more having watched this. Dad died when I was 17 but I kept playing, mostly on my own at the local muni as none of my friends played, but here I am now living halfway round the world from home, almost 70 and still playing golf. Thank you for this wonderful chat with Jamie. I love to hear him talk about life and share his heart. When he left SM recently I knew he had taken steps to protect himself from hateful and ridiculous scrutiny. He should have never received comments such as those, bc he is genuinely one of the good guys. He’s been the target of some pretty shameful, hateful individuals through the years and despite all of it, has been so graceful to his fans by connecting through SM. It was so good to see him in his element, doing the thing he loves most. Thank you for bringing out the best of him, Iona. Much success to you!

I don't doubt that Dakota has received insults also, but my comments do not refer to anything about her. In the past, he has also been the target of some terrible comments aimed at his family. That is all I am commenting about.

Fantastic Iona. You know with reference to one part of the video, many years ago I was service manager of a car dealership in Scotland and the owners sent me to Sheffield , England to find out why a dealership there had the highest rated success from customer satisfaction, well I found out that it was simply that the three owners of the dealership were genuinely polite and friendly to every member of the staff right down to those who swept the floors and that extended to the customers regard less of their stature.
Loved this one Iona, what a top bloke Jamie is for his and yours love of golf and I laughed out loud with the shy guy story about the twins 😂😂

Been to Iona many times, back in the 1960s and 70s. There were always a few golf holes on the Machair but this is a great improvement. On a warm sunny day Iona is the most beautiful place. Thanks for this Iona S.
Such a gem of a place was over on Iona in June earlier this year. Funnily enough I met Jamie as he was filming on Mull for a Netflix production called The Undertow to be released 2025.
I was coming back from Iona to head up to Salen & they were filming at Bunessan at the wee car park opposite the Bunessan Inn. I managed to get a wee chat with Jamie during a break & he was exactly how he comes across in this interview. I’m from NI so it was great as we just chatted away about back home etc.
Such a really lovely genuine guy. But I’m really looking forward to seeing the programme as they filmed in various locations in Mull - I came across them down at Croggan too. So I’m excited to see these locations & hopefully they’ve captured amazing footage & the atmosphere too.
I’m back again in Mull in Sept for a couple of weeks & as long as the weather holds a wee day trip to Iona will be on the cards before the season wraps up. A really magical place. You don’t need to travel far to enjoy such beauty.
We were on Iona last year, luckily with similar weather. We walked the course with only one regret I didn't have my clubs. What a dream of a location. The production values are top notch, matching Jamie's charming thoughtfulness and Iona's ability to put people at ease and ask the right questions.

For Jamie family comes first & foremost so I can understand why he left. I didn’t see what all was said but I had heard it was really bad. At least now he can totally switch off.
Funnily enough I was on instagram but it got to the stage it was literally taking over it was getting out of hand so I left & I can honestly say I don’t miss it & I have more quality time spent with my partner as a result.

This course is on my bucket list now, the grass is short and all one length, the daises and dandelions reach their tallest just before the once weekly tractor mow. I want to play this, Durness and Whalsay before I die.

I did not know who Jamie Dornan was before watching this. After 4 minutes I googled him, as I wanted to know what accident he'd had that had made such a significant impact upon his career. This is a fantastic interview. I absolutely relate to so much of what Jamie says and feels. I also lost my mom to cancer when I was 16 and it changes you big time.

As always, an absolutely exceptional Vlog, I so so look forward to watching these as you bring the very best out of people when you chat to them, only you could get so much out of a personal, private and shy guy like Jamie. We get to see what a hugely normal and likeable guy he is, this series really is amazing and 55 minutes just flys by. Thank you, so very much, what a talented interviewer you are (and yes a great golfer too, good luck in the open qualifier).
He really is just a really decent but humble next door guy. He was filming down at Bunessan when I was over in Mull visiting family for a Netflix production coming out in 2025 The Undertow. I got the chance in-between a break & takes to speak to him & yes we just chatted away like he was friend - im from NI also so we just chatted all about back home & I wanted to know how he was finding Mull. But there were no airs/graces just Jamie. How he comes across in this interview is exactly how he is full stop. Quite refreshing to see
