He's quite literally finding his place. Sensing where best to be, so as to not shade the others, or be shaded by them. He's maximising his potential. Nature is so smart.
Yooooo! I didn’t know they acted this way. Every morning I’ve been turning my monstera because I always find them in a different spot when I wake up and I was scared that they would all grow in one direction. But now I know. Imma let them vibe without spinning their pot around; it probably makes them dizzy anyway.
@Isabella B well considering that this is one plant, I wouldn’t think that the other leaves are it’s “siblings”. I think it would equate to a new arm or leg to the main root system. Also they don’t “feel” anything. They react to stimuli. No brains to process pain or emotion.
I think it's because of the lightning. Through the day it tries ro get to the window, but it reach the when it's dark outside. So then it's start facing the lightning indoors, but will just reach it when the sun is up again. And start to repeat the same. As far as I noticed.
I have a single Monstera leaf/node that was gifted to me that I've been propagating for two months and today I noticed a new leaf coming out! 😭 this was so beautiful to watch ❤
Wow this is the most amazing thing to watch. Watching her give love to the other leaves as she was growing made me cry. She made them a part of her journey as they were how she began. Thank you so much for allowing us to see how totally unbelievable mother nature really is. Now I need to watch it for a third time😅 💚🍃
I rewatched it in 2x speed and it’s insane. The new growing leaf moving so similar to that of a newborn baby kicking its arms and legs around. We really underestimate the world around us.
I recently got my own monster and it started off with 2 leaves too! It is now developing its 4th leaf and I love watching it grow everyday- it’s so satisfying 🥺💕
I'm wondering how you resisted caressing the leaves and taking a closer look at the plant for that long! If one of my plant is growing, I'm in its business every 5 minutes. 😂
I have an acaso action cam and I've set it up to take a picture every 60 seconds of my new Monstera leaf unfurling. How did you turn your pictures into this time lapse video?
I use the GoPro Studio program, available for free on their website. I had so many photos that I actually made 4 separate videos and then (using the same program) combined them sequentially. I hope that helps!
This one started as a cutting from my huge plant, and now just a few months later has 3 more leaves! The biggest correlation in growth of both leave size and fenestrations that I've discovered with the many small cuttings that I've made like this is LIGHT! The more light it gets through the day, the larger the leaves will be - and it's the size of the leaf that creates the fenestrations!
@@nickiminajonetta6167 ... left-over leaf sheath? You mean the place where it came out of the previous leaf? Don't touch it, lol... it will harden and strengthen the stalk of that leaf.
This is amazing! I buyed a three year old monstera deliciosa a few weeks ago but there is no new leaf. I mentioned a change of the plant but wasn't sure. It's not summer yet in Germany so maybe this is the reason for the slow growth 🤷🏽♀️
It might be getting used to it’s new environment! Mine went into a bit of shock when I brought it home, but after 3 weeks of no new growth, it finally started birthing a new leaf! After 2 weeks of that, this stem is much taller than the original ones and I think it’s honestly about to unroll itself any day now! Patience is key.
I got a new monstera which was very young, weak and had bad root rot. I gave it a good draining pot and soil, a bright window and some seaweed based fertiliser. Took over a month to get used to it's new conditions and turn around. But all of a sudden had both stems producing a new leaf now in the first week of spring. Best thing is make sure it has good soil/pot drainage and plenty of bright light and a little fertilizer. But definitely have some patience, it took nearly 2 months! (temp might also be a factor if it's still cold)
@@samlynn79 I'm currently at this stage. Can't wait to start seeing leaves. My Monstera is putting out bigger and bigger leaves so it's a matter of time🌿

I would love to give a shot for my monstera. Would you give me any advice? I have Go-pro and galaxy 10 and camera. How could you film it day and day out?? 🤷♀️
I used a GoPro Hero 3+ Silver on timelapse mode - 1 photo every 60 seconds. It took 17 days and over 24,000 photos and a LONG TIME to render it into a video in GoPro Studio!
@@samlynn79 OMG How passionate you are! I am thinking to take it monstera shot. Whoo~ it is gonna big project to me🙆♀️Thank you for replying me. Stay healthy and eat nutritious food🧞♀️
Just curious, did the leaves ever get fenestration? I have cuttings that were given to me and they are growing, they just do not have fenestration. I'm wondering at which point they will start to fenestrate?
FYI - it's been a year and a half, and this plant now has 7 leaves and is over 4' tall!

Is she still vibing?!
Is it still drunk?

Do you still have it in the same pot

thats not a leaf its an inflatable tube man that you find at the car dealership
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man!

This is so emotional. It's touching the leaves, it's embracing its parents or siblings

That middle leaf is what it’s like to be a child of divorce
Oh my. I’m sorry. 👀
It's like the two side leaves are the parants and the kid in the middle is runnning around them

Do you think the plant is moving from side to side to see where it has space to open up ?
It’s following the light. During the day it faces the window and at night it faces the ceiling light

Hi, why are there no holes in the leaves ?
Because it's a young plant, and the leaves aren't large enough yet - I'm hoping it will develop fenestrations in the next two leaves or so!
