  • Liz Truss hinted at further tax cuts to come and suggested she will press ahead with her plan to scrap the cap on bankers’ bonuses - saying not everything her government does will be “popular”.
Speaking ahead of the mini-Budget on Friday, the Prime Minister said the aim of the controversial measure was to grow the size of the economy by making the City more competitive.
And she said there was “no doubt” in her mind that lower taxes lead to economic growth.
