Brilliant video boyo. I purchased mine from HK and got dual sim for £899 and never looked back. Went into Liverpool 3 days ago and let the camera pro do it's stuff. The photos are excellent.
In the first 30 seconds you explained basically what's wrong with every great smartphone camera with the exception of Sony. Great image quality yet no user creatively allowed. Thanks for the videos since I'm seriously looking into the Sony Experia models and as much as like the Pixel camera the lack of creative options is disappointing.

I live I Scotland so I'm all about landscapes (I've never taken s selfie). I'm off to the mountains today with my tripod to have s play around. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this stuff in a easy to digest way.
I learned so much from this video, although i cant afford sony xperia new flagships I will try harder in life so that someday i can buy this premium quality phone.
One of the best videos about this phone, thanks! One question - if you set to Auto HDR in settings - will it always trigger, even indoors? Or only when the algorithm chooses to, like on s20 for e.? Do you hear the phone taking 3 photos, like on alpha cameras?
Hello, let me help to answer this question. Auto HDR doesn't always trigger on Xperia. The algorithm will detect when and how the HDR will apply. It will say "Backlight", so you know that the HDR will automatically applied. The HDR itself is not as agressive as the Sammie and iPhone.
@@fiandoperdana8385 thanks a lot! It is therefore the same approach as the "backlit scene" detected on older Xperias? Therefore, only one frame is taken, not 3? Would you say that HDR prefers to boost the shadows or reduce the highlights?
@@Lucary1000 Newer Xperia got better frame stacking. It will take several photos and combined it into one. The HDR will boost shadows and reducing highlights to make it not overblown. I will choose the manual HDR / DRO, it takes better dynamic range.
How do i get the photo Pro on my Xperia 1? Please send me a link. On another subject the last xperia XZ3 update has stopped the ability to turn on "Hey Google". Are you or some of your fans please address this. Thanks for yet another excellent video. Stephen, Fellow Sony Fan

inspired by this app, I wanted to make something similar for iOS 😄 For the iOS people out there, check out LUMA - Manual Camera, and switch the display to “digital” in the app settings. It doesn’t have shutter priority yet, but focuses on either auto or manual mode, and generally prefers RAW photos. there are options for proraw and standard apple heic too
Thanks so much for making this video! I'm very tempted to get the 5 ii, bit I wanted to know if there is any perceivable lag/delay upon pressing the shutter button when Auto HDR is enabled in the Photo Pro app?? One of the beauties of the Pixel devices is that the shutter is instant.... I can't be dealing with a 'hold camera still for 2 seconds and wait for HDR to finish' kind of thing! So many examples of this camera online seem to show very blown out highlights (especially in Portrait mode), but I think it is possible the reviewers didn't toggle the HDR mode to on, and maybe just used the stock camera app... Thank you!
@@WhatGear PhotoPro does work on Xperia 1 if you modify the APK file but once you take a photo, it freezes and crashes the app. Changing to other lens will crash the app too. It needs porting by someone to get it to work properly. Sony never brought PhotoPro to the Xperia 1 or 5, they haven't even updated CinemaPro app for it.

Any ideas how to fix the terrible internal selfie camera? Also know any good apps for developing which will compensate for the distortion of the lenses? LR or Snapseed don't work. To be honest, the camera isn't actually that good on this phone, pretty disappointing.
