    After cancer diagnosis I shifted from being Vegetarian to eating Plant -based whole foods, organic where possible. High fiber, low fat, low protein, no sugar or processed foods, no alcohol, and use water from my Berkey. I take several supplements, and focus on foods known to protect against cancer. I have eliminated toxins from my cosmetics, toiletries, cleaning items where possible. That said, I am not perfect about any of this, and allow myself the occasional treat of processed food. I usually eat wild salmon /oily fish twice a week, which is suggested by Dr. Valer Longo, the Longevity Expert. Cycling is my exercise of choice, weight control is my greatest challenge, so really cut back/elminated most grains, usually stick to Ezekiel bread which is organic and low glycemic and filling. A short morning walk with my little dog is better than nothing, on days when I don't cycle. A high quality stationary bike found at a thrift store, for $10.00 as an alternative during bad weather.
    Moderation in all things, is easier said than done, but good to keep in mind.
    Thank you for you excellent advice, Dr. Amy.

      Coffee creamers have a ton of transfats and I had to replace that with chocolate flavored almond milk. Nowhere near the sugar.

    @dramycancerrecovery - Hi, I've heard that sea salt and pink himalayen salt are not harmful. I've even heard suggestions of drinking the salt with water to keep healthy. I can't remember exactly how to do that but it's good for constipation, etc. I try not to eat too much processed food and cook most of my own meals but have not worried about how much salt I add because I use these salts. Would you say that non processed salts without iodine like sea salt and pink salt cause cancer?

      We simply do not know everything about cancer. The best we can do now is avoid things that are known to increase the risk of cancer but that is not 100% guaranteed. It's not fair but it's true.

      I have people in my family who eat junk food including hamburgers, hotdogs, sweets and rarely eat vegetables or fruits and all of them are non diabetic and in pretty good health. I had a decent diet, not obese, have no genetic factors and I was the one who got cancer. Cancer doesn’t discriminate.

    Too much sugar will cause fatty liver,thus potentially leading to pancreatic or liver cancer. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Is that true?

    You should really look at the studies you're quoting the one you're saying that meat causes cancer they removed the rats cuz they were thriving and kept the bunnies in the study and of course they got cancer I am not a bunny and I will continue to eat meat have a nice life

    • @dramycancerrecovery
      @dramycancerrecovery  8 месяцев назад +7

      In this video, I do not say that meat causes cancer because that would not be accurate. Processed meat absolutely causes cancer. That is widely known. I don't quote literature that is animal based models because that is too preliminary to apply to humans.
