This is very encouraging. I have always lifted weights and am powerlifting (e.g., deadlift, overhead press, bench press, weighted chin-ups) during chemo right now. I have felt great so far and the pounds of weight lifted continue to rise so far. I have had almost no side-effects. I am only two treatments into a twelve treatment cycle. Should I expect bone and muscle to weaken a great deal by the twelfth week? At any rate, thanks for helping me get ready for chemotherapy; I had no idea what to expect.

Hi Dr. Amy, I am also a cancer survivor. I underwent surgery for cancer in 2015, followed by chemotherapy, and I've never felt better since! I am incredibly grateful for your amazing content and all your videos. Thank you so much! 😉😉

I had breast cancer and a left breast mastectomy. No chemotherapy or radiation, but currently taking Anastrozole and have been taking it for two years. Never drank alcohol or smoked, but just broke both of my ankles and my left leg. I’ve been wondering if Anastrozole contributed in some way to me breaking these bones.

Yes, the anastrazole increased your risk of osteoporosis by blocking your estrogen. You need a bone density test NOW. The oncologist should have warned you. Also get your vitamins n D blood level.

How do I determine which medication is causing me to lose so much weight and also making me feel like I need to vomit even if I’ve not eaten anything. I don’t want to lose too much weight or my doctor said that she would have to take me off of chemo therapy and prepare me for hospice. Is this right for my doctor to tell me this and is it necessary or can she place me on a different medication to help me fight my stage 4 thyroid and lung cancer.

Vit D3 should be taken with Vit K2. Get your levels to 100. Your dr will say 30. Both mine say 100. Osteoporosis is a vit D deficiency.
