After more than fifty years of putting junk back together for myself and fixing cars that should have been junked for other people, it's rather refreshing to watch some of this new stuff get flattened. I never thought I would enjoy watching cars get crushed, but I definitely do. There are times I see things in your yard that I would love to have, but then I remind myself that I am trying to down-size, I seventy years old and, you are too far away for me to just come over and get it [thank God]! I still pick up junk and fix it, but I only do riding mowers now. Try to stay safe, and keep on doing what you are. Oh, yea, the Jeep is worth saving and passing along.
Haha man its pretty awesome to hear you say that. I love Alot of different old cars but Alot of times its just good to be crushed. Thanks for keeping cool stuff alive :)
I hear your frustration on the trucks. If it's any consolation, when I drove trucks, I could be sitting for hours, sometimes until the next day to get loaded. A lot of this can be avoided if people simply do what they say they will, and call if something unexpected happens.
My wife runs a warehouse and the number of times they have stayed late or gone in early for trucks that don't show is ridiculous. The problem is dispatchers that have no idea what they are doing. She would call for a ETA and be told they are about an hour away and then 10 hours later the trucks still not there and rolls in the next morning 24 hours later and you find out when you where told he was an hour away he hadn't even been loaded yet
@@danbartolini27 Yep. There's also dispatchers who somehow assume your fully laden truck can average 70 mph -- even going through a 55 mph speed limit state, through construction, or through traffic.
It would be nice if you had a few small shipping containers that you could use to use as dedicated containers for carburetors and other items so you could get rid of all those junkers
@@txviking Right? Lol!.... with my luck, it would be 70-72 Skylarks, Cutlasses, and LeMans that he's crushing! 🤦♀️😩😭 Hopefully it was just tired old Electras, Delta 88's, and Grand Prix's!! 🤷♀️
Another great video thanks for taking the time to share with all of us. Be careful out there in the heat and drink plenty of fluids why you are out in it. It’s good your brother back for the summer to help you a little. Thank you for all the adventures. Keep them coming love watching.
Pep Boys Many Moe and Jack, try and get your money back! I would like to see an episode where you label and shelve each of those carburetors. You got enough stuff to fill a warehouse
Jeep J-20. I bought a new 1974 J-10 in October of '73 and it served as a dependable truck, first in the business, then around the farm. Finally sold it in 1986. Available engines were the 258 inline six, or V8 of 394, 360 or 401 inches. Mine was a 360, and it served for 207,000 miles without excessive repairs. Body was a great place to find rust, right from the first. However, it was a new 4x4 for under $4,000. Bought my first Ford pickup in 1986, and never found reason to go back!
I would keep the jeep j20, should be 360 V8 and 79 and newer by the grill. Yes if grill not broken you should be able to get some good money for it! Body parts if not rusty should sell also. You might be able to sell the whole vehicle also! 66 MGB is in British Leyland heaven now! Least some parts were saved and reused. I never saw so many bicycles in 1 area ever! Take care, can't wait for next video!
I believe the engine in that old farm truck is a 360 small block Silas. AMC discontinued the 390 sometime around the start of or in the early 1970s. From the truck's front end, it's from the late 70s to early 80s.
Hello Silas, I enjoy your videos! I operate heavy equipment. We have several units with foam filled tires. Sure don’t have to worry about flat tires. Take care and keep looking for the next adventure!

Dear Mr. Silas. 👍👌👏 I'm glad to hear that you know how extremely important it is to drink enough water and wearing a hat (especially in hot weather). Definitely no fun to have a heat stroke and/or being dehydrated. Please take good care of yourself (and your family of course). Best regards, luck and health.
Silas, you should make a video where you talk about some of the more rare cars youve crushed over the years, especially when you were younger the stuff that was crushed, i can imagine big block chevelles, 1st gen camaros, fastback mustangs, challengers, chargers, ect probably all got crushed in the 90s. Any vids, even old vids would be neat, as sad as it is, but still something id love to hear about and see pictures or vids of.
Yea I hear ya Silas the truck driver always thinks he is the 1 in the right n most of the time late n lots are picky but I always enjoy ur videos and man u got lots of old bikes stay cool my friend
I’m not sure when you made this video today is July 24 I’m in southeast Kansas, and I am a farmer I like watching your videos, and we are drier than crap I see water standing in this video
Funny you should mention the A/C. I have the repair guy scheduled for this Friday so it will be warm for a couple of days. 94 degrees outside and 86 degrees inside.
Anytime you get Jeep parts or vehicles you might call Dennis Collins at Collins Brothers jeeps in Dallas He has a RUclips channel called coffee walk he buys all kinds of vehicles and parts
I love the junkyard tour..i use to work in one you never know whats coming in..the heat is the worst part though its true that you cant keep everything scrap it or you need more trailers..peace out.
You looked pretty hammered at the end of the day. The problem I have is that there is no such thing as sitting down for a rest and getting back up. I sit down at the end of a day, and that's it. I can't get back up. The starter may turn, but the cylinders just won't fire.
Sometimes I simply don't get it. There had been at least 6 aluminum rims left on crushed cars (for instance on the dark Mercedes). Additionally: A good running Mercedes engine from a relatively new car, can be sold for lots of money. And so can the gear box and the differential. 3) The green farm trailer had at least two green sheet panels with yellow writing (John Deere?) for wall art on it, one even already pretty lose.
Darn I Sure Hope You Can Find Someone To Help You Out There, & I Just Now Thought Maybe Put Out On Your Videos Where You Are & What You Expect From A Person & Whats The Pay & Work Hrs & Days off & All & Just See if Someone Would Want To Move There ,& Get A New Start, You Might Get A Big Surprise & One You Need & ike Anyway Good Luck, & GOD BLESS
Ideas, whilst you still have a couple of decades in front of you and your children and your brother. A: buy a huge warehouse on an even larger parcel of land. B: sort all of your ''salable'' parts in one part of the warehouse, in the other, you start a restoration business for all the cars that need body work where you can order and replace the parts and sell for a profit. Lastly a portion of your warehouse strictly for processing precious metal from the catalytic converters, the refiner could work right out of the warehouse thus cutting out the ''MIDDLE-MAN''. Seems daunting, but once the ball is rolling the business pretty much takes care of itself, just keep your nose to the grindstone.
I vote keep Jeep like a near dozen guys in your comments. Reason = not rusty. Behind the engine mounts on block sides is displacement numbers (real big) cast on block (protude). Likely a 360. 4 speed also rare and desirable. If i wasnt way around the other side of the ROUND globe we live on i would make the effort to call in. Will get to the US eventually. Swapmeets, salvage yards and say HI to you, Mortske, Puddin, Mr Goodpliers etc if you not too busy and also offer labour services too. One day...
Those J20s are rare and are worth a LOT. good shape, they’re going for $18,000 and prestine one sold for over $100,000 Yours seems to be solid, but needs a bed and repainted. Might be a good vehicle to flip if you’re into it. If not, you might be able to fetch $5-10k for it if you got it running.
I made thousands of $ stripping bikes over the years when I was younger. It’s a shame I can’t find another young person to do the same. I’ve tried for several years now.
Wow you have alot to go thru and you do so much everyday. I get overwhelmed for you. I enjoy your content. You are definately a 36 hour guy living in a 24 hour day. You work so hard + you film and edit for your RUclips video. Thank you
I would love to check out all your old bikes ! Have a few stashed in my garage as well. Mostly Schwinn, but there's a Western Flyer and Hiawatha in there, too . Could have used those BMX mag wheels, I have a few.
We have certainly seen plenty of footage with your crushing and loading videos....and dropping off at the claw. It would be interesting to see (if it is allowed) how the process at the claw is done. I would like to see how the shredding machine separates the metals, plastics and rubber tires so that each material can be sent to each individual recycler.
You may want to checkout some black smithing site's and find out if thay wood lick to buy the springs for knife making . You may get more then junk prices for them.
Nice "HAT" Beaner !.

I'd like to see you keep that Jeep for a while. Not very common. I'd like to see your Dad. He must be camera shy.

Boy do I ever remember those fiberglass 5 spoke bike wheels
My 2 cents worth, definitely should keep the Jeep truck, it is a classic!!!
The funky stuff on the bike are childsteps normally there is a childs seat. Greetings from Holland we love our bikes
I'm amazed that there aren't buyers for running big block engines from the 60s.
That's what I was thinking too! Lol!
I know quite a few people around here that would be in the market for BB Pontiac/Olds/Buick 455's!!

You need Tireject or Berrymans tire sealer in your loader tires. Check into it.
Pull a valve cover on that jeep truck, check the casting #’s on the heads. If they are AMX heads they go for 400 a pair used
