. Some of these prices shocked me! I'm just glad it wasn't closer to me, or I might have bought more than I did!

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of bidding, man, I miss going to estate and farm auctions, thanks for letting me tag along I had fun.
I went home with the electric motor Crusher in the video at 7:23 i only drove like 10 hours for the auction for one thing but went home with a Trailer Load
Your auction videos are so much fun! Thanks, I definitely enjoyed it!
Thank you for taking us along really enjoyed the video Silas God bless
Be Cool to see that crusher in use. I believe you got the deal of the auction in buying it. Ty for taking us along
I worked for an industrial gas supplier, we had a full time individual whose job it was to go to every auction that advertised cylinders. Legal Doc's in hand and the deeds for the cylinders. She would stop them from selling our property. She also had information on competitor's cylinders and would inform them about their company owned cylinders.
Yeah when the company I worked for closed , we notified the cylinder company and they came and got their property. 6 were missing and we had to pay replacement costs.
A company once worked for had only had one cylinder on hire but had another 3 or 4 cylinders he had acquired, he would just swap them when they were empty and only have to pay for refilling eventually the gas company got wise and started marking the cylinders so they knew if you returned one that wasn't on hire.
Check to Corning iowa
Creston iowa
And man it would have been cool to buy that baler, but getting that thing hauled and fixing it would be an outright nightmare
Great video!
Going to auctions is Great fun!
You never know what you will come across!
I love old industrial machinery especially massey ferguson, I couldn't make out what make that articulated wheel loader was!
I am already looking forward to the next one!!
Was that a VW bus baby buggy I saw? How cute! Omg, I just looked it up and it's $1,600 for the stroller at Pottery Barn! Who has this kind of money to spend on a baby buggy? Sheesh!
Famous last words...I probably won't buy anything here...hah.
Silas,
Your auction vides are always really interesting and informative!
Iwouldlovetohave that portable car crusher my self ,how much $ do you need, let me know and I will pay shipping, thanks BigAl California
Regarding that crusher you purchased, you basically feed a carbody in on one side and crush it down flat with the hydraulic pistons, and shove it forward a bit more. Some people have even had videos on their channels of one rigged up with a feed piston to move the car forward the proper amount automatically. It might be good for most modern cars, although I'm not sure what kind of shenanigans you'd wind up with any of the old time super wide carbodies. It might depend on acquiring some extra steel beams and plates to make it more reliably feed carbodies through. It'll be good to see what you do with it though. It's a really good novelty item. 😃👍👍
Great job editing in sold prices onto the screen. It makes this video so much better than most auction videos.
Crushing a car with pinball flippers while it gets winched through, is going to be pretty interesting.
16:31 ,those are 2 nice Korean War issue ammo cans there ,would have got them if cheap ,I got a few of those in good condition & store all my wheel locks sets in them
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
14:22 "200 uh cubic inch, uh V8 gas engine, uh and he just burned it up guys right there" 🤔
I thought I saw a straight 6. 🧐
I thought the orange crane looked familiar, I have a picture of my grandfather in the seat and my grandmother standing by him. That was probably in the 50's, Pops operated a Bantam crane and other construction equipment. He and I were both in the Operating Engineers Union, me for wastewater treatment operator. Great videos man! Peace
Gas bottles have shot up in price, guy probably broke even on it. Add in the buyers premium/auction cut he might be having buyers remorse.
Mike Wolfe from American Pickers would scarf that bike up fast.
We used to have a graves body crusher back in the day it had a ramp attachment that pushed the cars in we paid fifteen thousand for it we crushed thousands of cars with it was a little slow but it got the job done
It’s interesting to see what sells at auctions and for what price
For a guy that wasnt going to buy anything you sure bought a lot !!!
As usual! Silas has an eye I envy.
* I agree on the old orange crane . Great yard art. Would be fun to get running just to play with. The green magnet crane was even better.
I worked on Shield-Bantam cranes Hi-Rail attachments when I worked on the railroad . Had one burn a clutch and I drove it ten miles to the local Chevrolet dealership that regularly work on it's drivetrain , I worked on the Hi-Rail and mechanical components and that was good enough for me . Cool cranes that were very handy for liter stupp when the machine was in Hi-Rail mode . The distance between the flanges is 56 1/2 inches , easy to overload while in hi'rail mode .
Absolutely love the auction videos & just remember silas ,happy wife happy life 😂 just get some flowers & chocolate on the way home & maybe propose another holiday 😂😂
Nothing Here i Want, Famous Last Words !!!
Fun video. Congratulations on your purchases look forward to seeing what you do with that crusher. Remembering the old movies where they squeeze the car between two buildings or two semis and come out kind of squish but still elongated and running? Might be something fun for you to do for understand how this thing works.

Holy crap I couldn’t believe what people paid for some of that stuff. The age of that heavy equipment I would have figured in the cost of hydraulic hoses , cylinder re sealing and other common repairs into the price.

11:55 did your buddy get the motor purchased out of it? If it was actually a Chevy 302 in it I'm thinking the 1400 the crane sold for was a solid purchase as the motor (block only) probably draws that much alone?
Enjoy your videos very much thank you. I grew up in my father's junk yard, it was sort of like a carnival amusement park, always an adventure.
I worked for a surgical center and when I saw those tanks I wondered where did they come from?😊we used to have thieves steal our nitrous oxide tanks from our cage outside on the weekends . I think they filled up balloons and sold them at concerts at Stone Mountain,Ga. We finally got smart and fenced in the top of the cage and ran a bunch of razor wire around it. No more problems after that 😊
Thanks for posting enjoyed the video
2:13 That machine pulverizes large rocks into smaller rocks or gravel depending on the sizing needed. It vibrates up and down a lot and as the rocks bounce against it they crack and break up into smaller rocks. Can be good but it needs to be monitored for oversize rocks that don't fit into it properly and needs a machine or operator to press down on the rock so it starts cracking and breaking. Rotary or roller based rock crushers and pulverizers often are much better and more cost effective. It really depends on the volume of rock that needs to be crushed up.
I have noticed that every time you say you're not really looking to buy anything you buy stuff! lol lol. It's a wonder you're not in the dog house with your wife 😉 It's been awhile since I've been to an auction but it seemed to me there were some shills in the crowd- some stuff went so high. You're not supposed to act like you're that interested in the items or that may happen. Auctions ARE crazy, a pizzlesprung item sells for big money and new great shape stuff is dirt cheap. It's fun watching these auction videos, seeing what happens. Hope you get your stuff home safely. Stay safe and GOD bless
Always fun to ride with you, Silas.
So much stuff sold heaps higher than I seen the value of it , Ford 6x4 tray truck too much ,, the 6300 loader to dear , John deere excavator to dear , glad you can control you spending with common sense prevailing
20:45 very cool wire stripper haven't actually seen one before? Think you scored on a few items prices seemed a bit all over the place? 6300 for the "antique" extremly tired loader 12:50 seemed to be all the money in my mind anyway?
win i was 19 the junkyard i worked at got a brand new crusher just like that one should have a 351 winsor engine crushed 3000 cars from the 60s and70s
… ‘and maybe buy a crusher…’. LOL. Your wife must be in line for Sainthood - for patience 😊❤
I thought you said you weren't going to buy anything? Great video I like how you take us & show what is there. I would really love to have that green crane with magnet. I would put it in my sand box ! Only problem is I would have to make the sandbox a little bit bigger ! Great video!!! 🚜🚲
My famous line to my wife and daughter is, "I need that for my business". LOL!!
Few know that Chevy put a 302 in the Camaro's ...
(Late 60's)
Always fun to come along for your adventures!
You could buy one of those magnets and make some fun magnet fishing videos? They are popular on RUclips.
how in the heck do you understand the auctioner ?
You get used to it. It can be confusing but they do repeat themselves over and over and over and over !!! I find it tiresome.
Regarding the Al Jon materials baler, it can bale a carbody if it's not too large although that's only if it's stripped of anything that's not metal and sized to fit properly into it. If you ever decide to get into a serious car baler, Silas, don't go past a Predator car baler, if you ever get enough money to buy one. They may be expensive but you can throw two carbodies in and crush them into one bale with a 2 minute closing time.
They make nice compact bales and would really increase the amount of scrap metal you can cube into one baled up block of metal. They can also do appliances and assorted light steel up to a certain grade, although as you stated, most crushers start tearing up on heavy steel.
The biggest steel body I've seen baled up in a car baler was a cane harvester with the augers still on the front of it. I have seen baled up skid steer loaders, it must be a job and a half preparing those to get all the fluids out of them before baling them.
Note that most car balers will work better on carbodies that are stripped of anything that's not metal. It's really up to you, if you want one there are options out there. For most of today's modern cars, they're a waste as the industry is tending towards electric vehicles and plastic or other composite body shells. They make an awful mess to clean out of a car baler or car crusher. The auto industry is changing all the time though, hopefully they'll get back to something that is relatively solid steel or at least crushes or bales properly when it reaches it's end of life cycle.
For us a baler would be almost useless. Out of the ~500 cars I just crushed out of my property, probably 150-200 of them were heavy duty farm trucks that would definitely tear stuff up. With a crusher, they just press together nicely. Even tractors can go in a crusher as long as a car is there first to contain the cast iron.
What did the bicycle go for
7.00 dollars
that is a jaw crusher
Great video.
Congrats for the "pull through" flattener.
You can perfectly use it for the "too long for the crusher" trucks and trailers and so on if it runs :)
Thank you Mr Silas for bringing me along to a American Auction. Seeing vintage American Iron is always a treat. I just love way you describe and explain things to me here in the UK. JR
I really like your insightful descriptions of what they are and how they work great video
Really enjoyed this one! 🚚🛻🚙🚜🥧Do you ever buy fruit & vegetables at roadside farm stands on your way to/from auctions?🍉🍒🍓🍑🍋If so you should include footage from that.🍉🍉🍉🍉🥧🥧🥧🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🧀🧀🧀 Also live stock videl
I do the same thing, go to an auction and don't plan on buying . leave with truck loads and several tips lol.
My brother drove all the way down there from lake Mills IA he was the one running you up on the portable shears😂
thanks for the auction shows
that crane was interesting it reminded me of the 75 ton Lima Crane we had at our pipe yard. The company I worked for bought it after it had fallen down a ravine in the mountains. They hauled it out fixed it up and used it for like 25 years. Even though you did buy some stuff it was interesting to see what was there. Thanks for the look around Matt.
$3400 for yard art? Jimminy.
I have a question to Silas or any one that can help. How does a guy go about finding these auctions? Do you subscribe to some sort of site that gives u notifications about auctions? Or do u just browse the internet? Thanks in advance to any one that can help.
Another great video. Thank you
This is an outstanding video 👍🏻👍🏻
Holy physics! Let’s see what happens here!
Maybe smoosh some appliances through that squisher?
Doorman draws are mint! 🫶👌
Love what you do Silas. Thanks for the adventure.
Can't wait to see what you are going to do with the crusher
It needs some hydraulic work, so I’m waiting for cooler temperatures. Working on hydraulics when it’s hot is no fun 😆
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch I know you right about that
2:18 is a Knapping Motion Rock Crusher. I used ot go past a factory that made them.
This one scared me when I first saw the title. Thought it was your yard.
The second crane you were looking at looked like it was a military Crane
That roof looks like it came off a steam tractor.
Wassup
O i sorry thought was u going out business glad not u i do ok bt understand action s
I ran one them Batman t350 for years kind of fun to run
rock crusher was the only bargain. there .
COOL STUFF!
I hear you about being busy and not having time to chit chat. When I was working it was like I was a different guy than off hanging out with friends or home with my wife
It’s a bad habit I’ve picked up from trying to do multiple jobs at once by myself 😆
You always buy something
Most the crushers ove seen in UK for cars are bailers do a proper job
People crush mowers in them little crusher
Nice vid
Pretty cool Silas You sure do love your bikes you gotta pritty good friend to buy that bicycle for ya & the Crusher's gonna look pretty cool In the yard as yard art or advertisement even (Come on down we'll crush the competitors price) LOL love the vlogs till next time catch you later

You sounded very Happy with all the Lot - You must show us in Detail's what You bought - thank You ! Great Video and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
When in Rome , The prices on some of the items were very good , you got the auction fever and filled up your truck , and purchased a crusher . Till next time , take care , stay dry , and God Bless you and yours . Stuart in Ontario ..
Auctioneer being towed in a truckbed trailer with a cap, I don't know why it's funny but it's hilarious to me. 😆👍
Only if he was in one of those human carried sedan chairs of olde could it be more funny.
Thanks for the auction tour Silas! 🤠👍
You have to at least crush 1 car in that crusher
I had to stop the video @10:37 because I wanted to know what you were bidding on. High 5 Silas that was a super good purchase!!!! I really like that bucket. That is something for sure would sell in Warrenton. You did good. I sure miss going to auctions. I know they take forever and with it being triple digits since June, I don't know how many people could hang for a day without any shade. Thanks again for a happy video. Those chains, man, you stole those. Just think of today's prices. wow.
I've spent to much money at auctions too. And I've said I'm not going to buy anything here then bought stuff. LOL
Diesel Creek just restored a "cable crane"
Dear Mr. Silas.
👍👌👏 Great purchases. Congratulations 🎉. I'm eagerly looking forward to see what the crusher is able to do. And why not use it to crush cars? If I remember correctly, you and your Dad own 3 scrapyards but only 2 crushers. But maybe it's simply too slow.
Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health to all of you.
really enjoy watching these auctions!
I'm a city person but my parents were from Kansas, Clyde!
Fun day at the auction. Never know what you will find. When you're there for business that comes first. 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
are you going to use that crusher?
We used one of those bailers to bail 300 to 400 lb bail of aluminum cans and like you said washer and dryers etc.
My dad has owned a scrapyard or 4 for 59 years. 60 in September. For the first time ever it is temporarily closed due to the excessive heat
Growth is a double-edged sword. I hope you find it to be more of a blessing than a curse though.
Now that was fun thanks 👍👍😊
You made me laugh I’m not here to get anything it’s 2 hours away hahahaha bumper of the truck dragging back home
