This is probably so far my favorite episode of this new series, almost everything made my laughing so hard, or gave me the biggest dumb smirk from everything I recognized from GMod (despite me never playing it myself, I have watched many videos on it). But the Gman...He was just the perfect icing on this cake
This episode went so goddamn hard. You guys really pushed the animation and voice acting to even bigger heights than before. Done bigly team, getting attached to these characters this fast has been amazing to experience and I cannot wait for whatever y'all release next!
I will be absolutely satisfied no matter which of either Hunter: The Parenting or Half Life: Zero Viscosity gets more episodes. They're both absolutely fantastic series.
From what they said on the Patreon, HTP is the main thing now (notice how the three episodes we got were called "Arc 1" while ZV doesn't get something like that) with other series being of smallee scale. But they might come back to ZV after they've done what they've planned if they get new ideas for it.
I like how MubMub is probably the main character, since he is so alien to the universe, and leads the plots of the two episodes so far, I love his development so far and wish to see him grow
@@SomeKindaSpyvortigaunts seem to have some amount of individuality even when still connected to the Vortessence as shown by the different outfits and names those who work closely with the Resistance adopt.

Everything is just so perfect in this episode. The mannerisms and sppech pattern, the way each character interacts and maintains their weirdness seemlessly, the animation and jokes going from absurdity to perfect references, and of course the sickest animation to date!
I keep coming back to this. I love how this episode reveals that we aren’t watching a Half Life fan series, it was secretly a GMOD series the whole time.
as a blazblue fan i actively started freaking the fuck out when G-Man popped up and hit me with "the wheel of fate is turning! rebel 1!" Good shit Ladz
I must say this is the perfect mix of your amazing animation style scripting just everything plus probably one of my most favourite game universes out there and you have done so well! Cannot wait for the next instalment :D
Honestly, I'm kinda down for a Half Life fighting game now. Character-wise you can have the following: Vortigaunts as shotos. Combine troops can be a bit like a mix between Stryker from MK and Doctrine Dark from EX Fighting Layer Gordon can use his crowbar to do sick combos (his super should be like a raging demon, with G Man stopping time and it cutting to him standing over the downed opponent while a glowing, orange lambda forms on his back) Alien Grunt can fight with swarms of insects The zombie would be a bit like voldo from soul calibur (not as sexy, admittedly, but having a long reach and a bunch of mobility options from leaping at people from mid range. Regular movement would be really slow, so their game is all about using aggressive tactics to get in close) Dr Kleiner is a puppet character who fights alongside his pet head crab, who leaps at the opponent and tries to couple with their heads (fruitlessly, of course 😏) Barney is kind of an all rounder (not particularly strong, but capable at most distances) Alyx would be a hybrid between a grappler and a zoner (using the gloves from the VR game to do command grabs and throw trash at people to keep them away) The scientists from Decay can be a double team The human grunts would be equipped with grenades and could set up tripwires on the stage. Chell could be a character who can place portals and use them to attack in weird ways, uses devastating kicks and has the highest jump out of the cast. I imagine her being tough to learn but being really difficult to fight because of her mobility and ability to do MK teleports and uppercut you from anywhere. Father Grigori could be a bit like Jill Valentine in MVC2, summoning zombies and headcrabs (plus using the shotgun as a keep away tool) Probably a few other potential options, but I feel like these would be the easiest to adapt to the genre. A lot of the characters and some of the iconic enemies/named antagonists don't seem that easy to adapt to a fighting game due to being either people in lab coats/business suits, small animals, never getting involved directly in violence, or simply being too large. I made a point to avoid expansion characters (excepting the duo from Decay, but I felt that they would be a unique archetype that isn't represented otherwise and I wanted to ensure that there was at least a bit of gender balance outside of the non-human characters, whose differing biology and cultures make it so that concepts like sex and gender could be radically different from human beings (all the vortigaunts look and sound pretty similar, but it's not as if humans can identify the sex of most other animals at a quick glance. Human beings are already more diverse than would fit all of us neatly into two categories, but aliens could theoretically be anything)
@@casanovafunkenstein5090 I know you excluded them, but given Barney's in this screw it. Corporal Adrian Shephard. Similar to Gordon, albeit fights with a wrench. However, he's maybe a bit slower then gordon though but he hits harder and is maybe a bit tankier to compensate (Kind of like how the wrench itself is a little slower but can hit harder then the crowbar).
The "friendly guyentist grabbing" flashback had me wheezing. Shepard looking through the window, Mubmub peeking around the corner, the way he described the whole situation, it really got me. Writing, art and animation is so on point. Like a big man once said it was worth the wait. I just hope that unlike valve you guys can count to three and there will be Zero Viscosity 3.
@@taddad2641 The Super Grav Gun doesn't have the characteristic beam and outline when grabbing things, nor can it rotate objects like was done with the Hunter-Chopper. Given that they already integrated the Toolguns it'd make sense to throw in the _ultimate form_ of GMod fuckery as well, though I doubt it'll be without its fair share of maintenance/technical troubles as the series goes on.
Hunter leans more serious even though it is still very funny, while Zero Viscosity is 100% comedy. While Hunter carries on the characters of TTS, I think this inherited more of its tone
@@screamingcactus1753 agreed on the tone being closer to TTS, though I think that there's definitely going to be a point where this series starts going a bit deeper into the heavy subject matter that half life deals with. I think that once they've got the characters established in this sort of sitcom format there's going to be a turning point (much like how TTS started as a lore series with jokes and around series 2 became a legitimately compelling story with legitimate stakes and well executed themes about the importance of optimism and kindness, even in a world as brutal as the galaxy of 40K)
You could make really big guns easy to move around with that thing. Imagine you find a howitzer or something powerful that would normally need some kind of vehicle to move around, now we can just push it around like it’s nothing.
This is my goto after TTS has been hung out. I love the characters, the writing and comedic stings. hunter: the parenting is all well and good fun and I can tell you enjoy making it, but it doesn't tickle my funny bone quite like tts does, HOWEVER this does. I hope for a long stay to this series!
Agreed, this is definitely the series I enjoy more. I think that the fondness I have for the Half Life series contributes to that somewhat, but I do also find that the characters and animation are a step above H:TP. The juxtaposition of a silly comedy with low stakes conflict against HL2's authoritarian dystopia also works surprisingly well. Quite a few of the voices they use for H:TP can be a bit hard on the ears for me personally, so that can make me a bit less keen to listen to the extended audio dramas they do for it, though there are some really good bits all the same.
This episode melted my brain in my skull like a delicious grey fondue and has replaced the air in my lungs with funny juice i have mere moments to live. good job
This is without a doubt one of the best Half Life projects I've seen in some time. From its writing, to its performances, to of course its art and animation. My goodness this has so much personality.
The way my thoughts clicked when I realized the uncanny similarity between shock roach’s mandibles and the physics gun’s “claws” hit me like a gosh darn bullet train
Am I the only one who noticed the absolutely amazing elder scrolls oblivion reference that had been going on throughout the entire episode? This was absolutely incredible!

I'm sad to see Zero Viscosity put on hold. I liked both episodes quite a bit. Very good as individual stories. Great moments in both; I regularly quote snippets from the first episode and screenshotted the bit from ep 2 when gus looked at the water as the david statue. I hope it you're able to get back to it at some point. That being said... it is MURDEROUSLY funny that this Half-Life-related thing didn't get to 3.
@@michaciejka2839 I believe it underperformed to they point that paying people to work on the show would cost more money than the revenue the show seemed to generate.

Chatwick: Uses space steroids on his crab.
Also Chatwick: "Your shit for using cheep tricks."
What a tool.
I will be absolutely satisfied no matter which of either Hunter: The Parenting or Half Life: Zero Viscosity gets more episodes. They're both absolutely fantastic series.
I kinda hope somehow I get both. But you know what they say about getting your cake and eating it to
@@CanaryGamesESC they’re working on both interchangeably from what I understand.
@@CanaryGamesESC We'll get both eventually, just a matter of which first.
But we shall never again get another episode of tts
From what they said on the Patreon, HTP is the main thing now (notice how the three episodes we got were called "Arc 1" while ZV doesn't get something like that) with other series being of smallee scale. But they might come back to ZV after they've done what they've planned if they get new ideas for it.
I like how MubMub is probably the main character, since he is so alien to the universe, and leads the plots of the two episodes so far, I love his development so far and wish to see him grow
Didn't think a vortiguant could be a stereotypical badboy/bully but here I am and loving every second of it.
Lorewise no they can't. They live in a multidimensional hive mind and they all act alike. But this is fun, so I'm not bothered. :P
@@SomeKindaSpyvortigaunts seem to have some amount of individuality even when still connected to the Vortessence as shown by the different outfits and names those who work closely with the Resistance adopt.
@@SomeKindaSpy They can develop personality to a degree. but Chad here has developed a very distinct personality... Its possible the could be pulling from half life alyx and have astory line where Chadwich has his connection to vorteccence inhibited. his barin might also be injured.
Chadwidge here might be a bit brain-damaged, which limits his connection to his hive and gives him a far more distinct development of personality.
I'm not complaining, though, he's funny.
@@fyraltari1889that’s usually because someone from the resistance tells them to wear it
As someone who loves Big D and everything you guys are making over there I was afraid of you dividing your resources between it and anything else, now I am so glad you did because this, this is AWESOME!!! My fears have been OWNED!!!
THANKS FOR DELETING ME WITH HELICOPTER FIRE, ALFA. I thought we were friends ;_;
Don’t worry you’ll respawn when we load into the new map.
That's what Alfa does to his favorite cousins
Just wait for the respawn, dude, easy!
I love how the combine are constantly intimidating, never touched by the funny artstyle and maintaining their cold militaristic look. Even if our intrepid heroes succeeded in destroying Glaive-6, half of the base is gone at best.
No worries they got Vortigaunt medics on hand, this is probably just like... A nap in the unfathomable abyss of what lay beyond death.
What of the metrocop
metrocops are still fully human
@@scott-gaming.8834what *of* the metrocop?

I love everyone's expressions when the phys gun starts working it's magic, it's a combination of awe, fear, and that expression cats make when they've been caught doing something

OH MY GOSH THE VORTS IN RESISTANCE OUTFITS ARE THE MOST PRECIOUS THING EVER. I'm very glad y'all pushed through the hard times to make this, and I'm glad to be a patron.
One sadly got shot up... BUUUUT he should be fine, the vrots can revive each other so long as there is at least one remaining alive. I wonder if they can do the same for humans though.....
Everything is just so perfect in this episode. The mannerisms and sppech pattern, the way each character interacts and maintains their weirdness seemlessly, the animation and jokes going from absurdity to perfect references, and of course the sickest animation to date!
We need a “Chadwidge has no respect for you” t-shirt.
… Also, “In the saying of our people; *OWNED*.” >)B^]
One phrase on front with image of Chadwidge vortform, with other phrase upon back with picture of Crabessence?
MubMub "Coolist" and "I dedicate this battle for cool boys! Everywhere!"
Pit Drone "There is not havings of utility in this".
Would be cool too
I keep coming back to this. I love how this episode reveals that we aren’t watching a Half Life fan series, it was secretly a GMOD series the whole time.
just like the games, the wait for zero viscosity 3 will feel eternal (and possibly be eternal)
as a blazblue fan i actively started freaking the fuck out when G-Man popped up and hit me with "the wheel of fate is turning! rebel 1!"
Good shit Ladz
Blazblue enjoyers when the Blazblue is referenced:
Chadwidge: “IT IS ON LIKE MONKEY KONG VIDEO GAME CHARACTER!”😡
Trooper: “I DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS.” 😎
Bruh these interactions
If Gus does not at some point fight someone in a forklift I’m gonna lose it
This feels like a half life fan fiction from 2009 and I love the absolute crap outta it
Absolutely love the Oblivion arena announcemens! So good. The adoring fan is watching too lolll
Always thought Shock Roaches were adorable. This just reinforces the fact
I must say this is the perfect mix of your amazing animation style scripting just everything plus probably one of my most favourite game universes out there and you have done so well! Cannot wait for the next instalment :D
I didn't know I wanted G man as a fight announcer. I NEED IT NOW.
Honestly, I'm kinda down for a Half Life fighting game now.
Character-wise you can have the following:
Vortigaunts as shotos.
Combine troops can be a bit like a mix between Stryker from MK and Doctrine Dark from EX Fighting Layer
Gordon can use his crowbar to do sick combos (his super should be like a raging demon, with G Man stopping time and it cutting to him standing over the downed opponent while a glowing, orange lambda forms on his back)
Alien Grunt can fight with swarms of insects
The zombie would be a bit like voldo from soul calibur (not as sexy, admittedly, but having a long reach and a bunch of mobility options from leaping at people from mid range. Regular movement would be really slow, so their game is all about using aggressive tactics to get in close)
Dr Kleiner is a puppet character who fights alongside his pet head crab, who leaps at the opponent and tries to couple with their heads (fruitlessly, of course 😏)
Barney is kind of an all rounder (not particularly strong, but capable at most distances)
Alyx would be a hybrid between a grappler and a zoner (using the gloves from the VR game to do command grabs and throw trash at people to keep them away)
The scientists from Decay can be a double team
The human grunts would be equipped with grenades and could set up tripwires on the stage.
Chell could be a character who can place portals and use them to attack in weird ways, uses devastating kicks and has the highest jump out of the cast. I imagine her being tough to learn but being really difficult to fight because of her mobility and ability to do MK teleports and uppercut you from anywhere.
Father Grigori could be a bit like Jill Valentine in MVC2, summoning zombies and headcrabs (plus using the shotgun as a keep away tool)
Probably a few other potential options, but I feel like these would be the easiest to adapt to the genre.
I love how Timothy just appears out of nowhere when someone addresses him as if he is always around
timothy appeared as a transition for no reason, hes just weird man
Stelth
I love that the bits with Karl at the end are still a thing! He’s such a nice gentlemen. Mall Santa and he’s thrown over 1,000 birthday parties!
The Physics Gun is the _last_ thing I was expecting, great work from all!
it may be more than just the physics gun. it is straight up the super garvity gun. he jsut doesn't realize its full potential yet.
I enjoy the Hunter stuff much more, but the half-life project is still excitement inducing.
Honestly anything that pops out is gold.
I can't believe Crabessence opened round 1 by popping off a level 3 super. Insanely OP.
This episode melted my brain in my skull like a delicious grey fondue and has replaced the air in my lungs with funny juice i have mere moments to live. good job
Spend those moments well, you have chosen a worthy finale to end on.
The fact that this series is just a bunch of dudes playing Garry’s Mod moves my now pulpified teenage heart and soul.
I never knew Gianni could make such convincing G-Man voice.
hes done his voice before
@@dkskcjfjswwwwwws413 He's done it before, but this version sounds much closer to the original.
G-anni
This is without a doubt one of the best Half Life projects I've seen in some time. From its writing, to its performances, to of course its art and animation. My goodness this has so much personality.
What did that gas mask guy at 28:23 say about his posterior?
The way my thoughts clicked when I realized the uncanny similarity between shock roach’s mandibles and the physics gun’s “claws” hit me like a gosh darn bullet train
I'm just here to second that statement!
I now believe this to be the Official Garry's Mod Lore
God, that takes me back to when I first played Gmod and thought it had lore

I hate how this makes perfect sense.
Pit drone forever remains my favorite in the half life zero viscosity series the amount of goddam energy he pulls off is hilarious
I love the idea of Gman himself taking time out of his day to watch this nonsense.
Am I the only one who noticed the absolutely amazing elder scrolls oblivion reference that had been going on throughout the entire episode? This was absolutely incredible!
I picked up on it when the announcer said victor from the roach team. Gave me some flashbacks there.
@SirMcCheese Then you are an individual of culture. You have my thanks, my friend, "YOU EARNED IT!"

The HL community has honestly been long overdue for high quality content like this, this, beautifully done.
the pit drone saying "i wish to fall of roofs" made me laugh way more than i expected
Words cant describe the reaction i had sering blazblue and gulity gear intro for the fights. Literary feel hype
Why is it put on hold?
@@michaciejka2839 I believe it underperformed to they point that paying people to work on the show would cost more money than the revenue the show seemed to generate.

I was honestly super hyped to see you guys' take on the enigmatic and admittedly terrifying G-man.
I was not disappointed. Good job, Alfabusa and the rest of the team!
Never before have I ever thought I would get into Half Life lore watching a four-armed alien cyclops narrate a desiccated human worker guy drinking stuff I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole only to later see his living gun Pokémon-fight an alien crab and evolve into a handheld tractor beam.
I love the "Adoring fan" Oblivion reference at the left side of the crowd in the background
Jesus H. Christ I just went back and watched your latter day 40k related content and the animation quality bump is MASSIVE.
I think you're gonna be big deal in the animation industry if you continue with these projects!
I'll admit the first episode was fun, but didn't super grab me. But now we're here and I am caught in a deathgrip, eagerly awaiting episode 3.
Half-Life: Zero Viscosity 2: Episode 1
Omg no
I appreciate how Gus has just accepted the fact that his name is Human Guy now.
Real human bean
And a real hero
Amazing work you guys! Thank you so much for all the time and hard work that goes into these. You all are really pouring your heart and soul into what you create and it shows. Your work has helped me through some of the darkest times in my life, and I can't properly express just how grateful I am for that. I am just as excited for Zero Viscosity and HTP as I ever was for TTS, and that is really saying something. Excellent work, everybody.

I know you say you guys don’t know what you want this series to be, but weirdly enough you guys seem to have it figured out already.
Looking forward to the next installment!
Make it a mini series, then end it on a high note.
