    I discovered your channel this morning, I’m recouperating from heart issues and binge watching your channel. I’m a boatnik from Detroit, a river rat. I holiday in Ft Myers Beach Florida, Greece, and am dying to visit my mother’s homeland in Wales and London. Rip the tides bruzz, keep your stuff coming. Love the French video

    Brilliant...and killing me at the same time. That looked like an absolute “ton of fun”. Hopefully we’ll be out by Christmas to boat on the good old Port Phillip Bay. Not quite the Med though!! Cheers Nick.

    Really enjoyable video, Nick. Days don't get much better than these. Even Rick Taylor would be (mildly) jealous......

      Thanks Tim, very kind of you to say so. If you enjoyed this, then it's definitely worth checking out the three full length versions (one for each day) on MBY's RUclips channel - there is a link in the description above.
      You really know you've made it if you can compete with RT, even if only for the weekend! :D

    One minute I’m drooling over American muscle boats, the next “Goldfish”?
    Seeing you’re in the Med, how about some beautiful sleek Rivieras? I love those beautifully crafted wooden masterpieces. Please, please.😍

    If it was a American boat, there would be 6 outboard engines on it.

    They tested thoose in Norwegian conditions just to chech their durability. A very cool and good RIB but also expensive. Ohh wait... They are a Norwegian boat producer 😁 To bad you only got to test them during what we in Norway call calm seas. Anyway great video

    very classy ---------- do like the music intro /// -- bit like michel jarre oxygene / conjurs about south france and fizzy wine olives very nice ........ 1976 i think ... every bar in toulon played it .... ------ travel tip of sorts // live slightly east of bordeaux and down -
    -- coast section that runs 60km into france then down into spain as far as mataro (big marina near there) /// is lovely much cheaper ---- until you near near barcelona then prices are like london // not an advert but many derelict properties and land --- for cheaper summer homes near the coast if you like boats some paths down to beach etc on your land .... ///
    many estate agents wont touch and the local mayors will put them in auctions -- they would rather brits dutch germans buy and use them // few km from me have whats is a derelict village except for some very old people and cats --- all the young moved to paris lyon bordeaux toulon for work ...
    // put this in contect bought a 1660m area barn longeur and a football pitch garden for 18k --- yes 18 and spent so far 100 k (half finished) but summer not too hot winters not too cold ...... dordogne expensive bordeaux very expensive -------- but area between towards cost (often overlooked) ....
    sorry not an estate agent .... good luck .. // rib boat is on the christmas list so been watching keenly reviews .... area beziere to gerone up to limoge across to claremont ferrand then back down to french coast /// huge area lots of national parks and rivers -- quieter than bordeax coast advert finished now ... !!!

    When it was calm Nick what speed do those goldfish travel at?

    • @AQUAHOLIC
      @AQUAHOLIC  4 года назад +3

      We saw 60 knots out of the 38 Super Sport, and I think 50 knots out of the 29. Properly fast boats and very capable with it.

    I never got the point of these boats. Yes, they are fast. But they arent nice places to be on, chill or do anything else but go fast.

    • @AQUAHOLIC
      @AQUAHOLIC  3 года назад +1

      You could say the same about mid engined Lamborghinis - some people like fast.

    • @Baerzilla
      @Baerzilla 3 года назад +1

      AQUAHOLIC not quite. Since im driving a mid engined McLaren I can confirm those cars to everything that all the other cars do as well. Namely getting you from A-B comfortably. Going fast is just a plus. While a boat like that won’t let you sleep or chill comfortably, which other boats do.
      But to each his own I guess. It just doesn’t fit my personal image of boating, which consists of lying around in the sun a lot :) I’ll admit to wanting to drive one of these speedboats once, but owning...?

    • @AQUAHOLIC
      @AQUAHOLIC  3 года назад +1

      @@Baerzilla Really? Only two seats, tiny boot, low down so the view is rubbish compared to a Range Rover? As you say, yes they are fast... 😉

      AQUAHOLIC actually forget what I just wrote, you are right. Speed is justification enough, if one is into it. 💪🏼

      They're nice to be on any time it is nice to be outside. You can probably rig up a cover for when the sun is too hot. Goldfish, like all the fast rib makers, do sell at least some models with onboard toilets.
      You can get lots and lots more features, space and "luxury" for the same money. But with that, comes lots and lots more futzing, cleaning and maintaining. As well as greater fuel burn. It might sound silly given the V8-rumble marketing: But these fast, smallish ribs are pretty fuel efficient, as long as conditions permit staying on plane. Which their race derived hulls (and suspension seats....) lets you do into quite a lot rougher seas than more traditional cruisers. In practice, unless you insist on doing literally 60 knots, they are much cheaper to run, than almost all "more boat for the same money" planing boats. Much more so that some giant floating condo which only goes one third as fast with the same power.
      If what you want to do during somewhat limited vacation time, is be on the water in a boat; swimming, diving, kicking back with a drink, chatting up chicks....... very little of that requires lots of onboard accommodation. You, or at least I, need a toilet, though.... Maybe Norway is so remote you don't, but that just doesn't play in more populated areas further south. But again, Even Goldfish does have models ( perhaps not the absolute fastest and most stripped down ones, but still plenty fast) with toilets and some mattresses for overnighting or weekending.
      The in practice moderate fuel burn, and the ease of maintaining a fairly stripped down rib (check oil and fuel and hose her down....); to many beats the heck out of spending time keeping an acre of teak and a Four Seasons approved master suite in ship shape. Of course, if more extended cruises are programmed then, yes, priorities do change. But I could easily spend a week orbiting Ibiza and Formentera in a fast rib (with a toilet and some tanks...), without feeling unduly shortchanged for not having a larger yacht. With the savings on fuel, I may even be able to catch a show or a DJ some nights.
