If your blender rig wont attach to a mesh. skip to 0:23 to get straight to it. merge by distance. Not posting this video to subscribers because it is a specific fix.
Literally the only video that solved my problem. All the other videos insisted upon manually assigning weights to the bones which sounded like a horribly tedious process. This was perfect, thank you!
Omg, THANK YOU. I was stuck on this 1 assignment for an extra 4 hours tryna solve this issue lmaooooo. This solution worked, now I still wonder how this problem came to be.
this works if your character is one big blob, but how should you do this when your character consists of multiple components that should not be deformed? for example separate upper and lower arms?
I believe you can fix this by excluding them from the vertex group of the bone that deforms that area. Check the name of that bone to know what vertex group you're looking for on the model.
I’m trying this when I get in my room after dinner, I have multiple copy’s of my model and one of them I am manually doing weight paint which is taking ages and not done correctly/like how I want with auto but automatic weight ain’t working, and I’m looking for a alternative bc the fingers is killing me and taking ages and not doing what I want
This solved my problem with the armature and mesh, but now caused a new one, I added fur to my mesh and now when I move the armature the fur doesn't move with it. If I apply the particle sistem it somehow just disappears. How can I fix that?
YOOO . I literally cant find it. What if you do the merge by distance and its says " 0 vertices removed" . You go to try again and it still give you the error. What then? I cant find a video covering all possible issue. They all the same. So what if this method doesnt work?
DUDE! You can't just start the video with a slenderguy like that, that really scared the bajesus out of be now my frosted flakes are all over the floor and my pants!
2 god damn hours of looking for solution and nobody answered this question except you.
Thanks

I found if when defining the parent if you select the armatures individually verse by a window it seems to have fixed my issue.
Ayyyyyy! It works!!! Now all I need to do.... is to.... manually weight paint it.... oh no.
THANKS YOU A LOT !!!!!!
Thanks a bunch
Does it matter if you select the character first or vice versa?
I’m trying this when I get in my room after dinner, I have multiple copy’s of my model and one of them I am manually doing weight paint which is taking ages and not done correctly/like how I want with auto but automatic weight ain’t working, and I’m looking for a alternative bc the fingers is killing me and taking ages and not doing what I want
