    Welcome to iTripReport's flight reviews, which I focus on reviewing both the soft product and hard product of airlines around the globe. I strive to give you guys a first person perspective of different aspects of the flight. Including the ground service, onboard service, and those views that come with the flight. As you can see, I record quite a lot of the experience to make sure I record what you want to watch. As always, thank you so much for watching.

    What a privilege, Q, to be on the inaugural of a new aircraft! The A220 is smart looking. If I were in charge of AA, UA I would cut my loses with the Boeing Max and order the A220. Same for WN but they put all of the eggs in the hands of Boeing so now they’re eating scrambled eggs. Yes, I too have noticed a remarkable difference between Canadian/and International Carrier Flight Attendants and the indifference/dustbin towards passengers of U.S. Flight Attendants

    I need to ask you to please explain to me as to how you managed to edit and upload this video while the rest of us are still just getting off the plane? I’m honestly gobsmacked, somewhat because it’s a very comprehensive film but mostly because of the expediency.

    This aircraft makes me so proud to be a Quebecer and Canadian. Bombardier has been known for their faults, but they’ve developed an incredible plane. If it hadn’t been for all the political drama drummed up by Boeing, it would still be the C Series, but having the Airbus name isn’t terrible in my book. I hope to fly on one of these someday soon.

    I’ve flown with Aircanada for many years now it’s my first choice when I’m flying anywhere. Usually fly business class to MCO or FLL and always a very positive experience must say I haven’t had the breakfast you had in a while and I could taste it just watching it! The level of service provided from the service director is impeccable! I have a lot of friends of mine who work for Aircanada and know a lot of pilots with them never anything bad from them ! Can’t wait to fly on the 220 soon!

    My Mother loved Air Canada and only flew with them when she would come to visit us here in Australia.
    Charlotte to Toronto, Toronto to Vancouver, Vancouver to Honolulu and then Honolulu to Sydney back on the old 767, and after they finally got the 777, they eliminated the Honolulu stop and went to direct to Sydney from Vancouver.
    On the return, she always spent the night in Toronto...and she never had a problem with them, and they always took great care of her.

    • @brucemckean2848
      @brucemckean2848 4 года назад

      I have been assured (several times) that the dreaded 'parsley omlette' is on it's way out. My guess? AC got a really special deal on ten million of them. They aren't awful but hey, a bit of rotation in the menu would be great. Note: business class meals on Via Rail are reliably better and more varied than on AC. Who would have thought it.

  • @viscount757
    @viscount757 4 года назад +7

    Text at 4:28 should read Business Class, not First Class. AC hasn't offered a product called first class for many years, probably sometime in the 1990s. However their domestic business class product is similar to what US carriers call first class on equivalent narrow body types.

    Great Video, You captured the experience I was hoping to have on this Air Canada A220 inaugural flight, however, I couldn't justify the $2400.00 J class fare for a 4hr 30 minute domestic flight. Instead I opted for a $500.00 Comfort seat which was anything but comfortable. Boarding in zone 5, I found that the middle seat "plus sized" passenger had already created a bench for himself with the arm rests "up" to fit in the middle seat of my row. His left leg and foot rested under the seat in front of me and I spilled into the aisle. After an hour waiting to be deiced I was hoping the plane would return to the gate for fuel so that I could get off, as there was no "Comfort" in this "Comfort seat". Once airborne I went to the back of the plane to use the lav to escape my Comfort seat... one lav was open but the 2 service carts blocked access and the 2 Flight attendants were indifferent. I ordered Mac N' cheese from the Bistro menu and was warned by the male flight attendant it would take 30 minutes to heat. An hour and a half later I went to the rear galley and interrupted the female flight attendant who was touching up her make up and asked if she knew anything about my order and she sheepishly opened the oven to find a lonely box of Mac N'Cheese. She offered that her male flight attendant colleague forgot who ordered it. I guess that they didn't want to make an announcement for the owner of a Bistro Mac N cheese to please identify him/herself as there were many Corporate Air Canada staff on board.
    Again, thank you for your great documentation of a dream inaugural flight of the Air Canada A220. I did notice your Gucci runners and Comme de Garcon T-shirt visiting the Y class cabin a couple of times but did not realize you were a vlogger. I've learned "You get what you pay for",....I could have bought my row of 3 seats for $1500.00 and had a much better experience.

    Can’t believe the de-icing guy is still in such an old-fashioned open truck ! We have de-icing equipment at Schiphol where the operating and the driving is done by one guy and he sits inside a little cabin that goes up for the de-icing. And they hardly get any use over here with our extremely mild winters of the latest years. I’d expect Canada, where de-icing probably goes on the entire winter would have more modern equipment.
    The A220 is amazing though. This shows what can be done if you simply start anew instead of keeping on revamping a 50 year old design.......
    Also glad Airbus stepped in, else there wouldn’t have been a future for this elegant plane.

    • @masterseems8005
      @masterseems8005 4 года назад

      Montreal Trudeau is NOT the only international airport in Canada. It's just one of the many that use deicing equipment in winter. FYI, many airports in the country do have more modern equipment. Toronto Pearson has the most modern & advanced deicing system in the world. Their deicing trucks are operated by just one person who sits in an interior elevated cab & the deicing bays can handle up to 500 planes per day. But then you would have known that if you had bothered with 5 seconds research. LOL

    • @nobodyhere5557
      @nobodyhere5557 4 года назад

      All Canadian airports have both open bucket and closed cabin de--icing trucks. Winter isn't such a big deal for Canadians though. -10c isn't even considered winter for most true Canadians!! :p

Super excited to get to do the business class on this plane as it looks wonderful!!! 9:30 someone may have beaten me to it, but the engine spool up pre-departure is standard safety procedure in icing conditions. The idea being to shear off any fan blade engine ice which could potentially come loose and get ingested causing damage and engine failure issues during the critical takeoff and climb phase.

    Nice looking jet, i can imagine it was a smooth flight, as if gliding on air- i have my own Air Canada A220, from Gemini Jets models , 200 times smaller of course!

    Great video but tell me what you meant that seat-back tv’s are slowly being phased out on US Carriers. Are airlines switching to the free or paid WiFi approach and let you watch your content on your own device

    i flew on air baltic a220 last year, tell you what, its not THAT noticeably more quite. what is more memorable is the seats. anything more than 3 hours is sheer pain in the ass (literally)

    notice the cruise altitude of only 28,000ft... apparently has to do with some engine issues...
    pilots are instructed to keep the engines at less than 95% power over 29000ft which air canada has decided to circumvent by just crusing at 28

    This is an aircraft that Air Canada can really be proud of. Watch your back, Westjet. Your 737’s can’t hold a candle to the A223 (short notation for A220-300).

      Scott Roth 🙄 🙄 ICAO: BCS1 & BCS3, IATA: 221 & 223. CS100 & CS300 were the Bombardier marketing descriptions which have not been used since July 10th, 2018 when Airbus took control of the aircraft program.

    The A220 is the best regional plane EVER.

    • @nobodyhere5557
      @nobodyhere5557 4 года назад

      Regional aircraft can not fly transcontinental and transoceanic routes. The A220 is not a "regional" aircraft by any stretch.

    • @torbenm2375
      @torbenm2375 4 года назад

      @@nobodyhere5557 That's pretty much new. The A220 was developped as a regional plane and just recently Airbus got that twitch. I am happy for it going longer distances, so more ppl can experience it and loving it, but that's not what it was designed for in the beginning. But still.... I just love it. One of the most gorgeous planes in the world. Be it Bombardier, be it Airbus.

    • @nobodyhere5557
      @nobodyhere5557 4 года назад

      Torben M 🙄🙄🙄 no, not “pretty much new” Bombardier always had long-thin routes as part of its initial design criteria for the BD-500 platform, it was never designed as a regional airplane.
