This is great advice. Anytime I'm riding a fader these days I'll turn the screen saver on or close the window and just listen. Always feels better. It's amazing how seeing the line changing across the screen will affect your moves.

At last someone has done a blind test!
Something I've done with many people. The placebo effect is incredible and at the same time dramatic.
Dolby Atmos to listen on headphones? Really? 😇
Emersive sound to listen in a stereo system? Really?
But there will always be someone who hears the sound coming from behind and above, I have no doubt about that. 🙃
Thank you very much for your work!

This has especially gotten me when i bypass a saturation plugin and the plugin gui dims, then unbypass it and it undims. Whenever the plugin interface gets visually brighter i hear a much more obvious change. If i do the same thing with my eyes closed, randomly bypassing and unbypassing the plug and then i try to guess if its bypassed or not and then open my eyes half the time im wrong lol (this is when using more subtle satureation of course).
Also i used to reference spotify so much that i got used to listening to my current mix while looking at the spotify gui. It immediately makes the whole mix sound darker because the interface is a black background lol
Visuals are way underrated when it comes to listening.
Honestly if something like softubes console one integrated with pro tools better id love to mix with that thing. Thks Dave !

Close thine eyes to fully hear what and where the sound is , it happens automatically for me
