I rode Goudurix many times and I never got hurt... It‘s a really great ride ! Just put your head back to the seat and relax your neck, and everything will be fine. Not as good as Oziris and Tonnerre de Zeus but I love it !
It looks like a fun layout, but seems like it was ruined by poor track design with a lot of jerky transitions that should have been smoothed out a bit more.
frenchfrey65 Really? I think Arrows are pretty smooth. The ones at Cedar Point are pretty smooth, the airtime hills on Gemini and Magnum are more like thighhurting hills though :P
ThisIsBarc99 Cedar Point is the exception because they're well maintained, outside of that, Arrows are bad, notoriously bad, especially the ones overseas in Japan (Titan, look that one up it's hilarious), and the knockoffs in China are nightmares.
Tommy Carr then why would Vekoma use Arrow's design? I'm surprised, I just wiki'd it and I could've sworn Vekoma bought them out considering they're using Arrow's Design
If anyone is scared of roller coasters here is my opinion. I went to parc asterix with my school couple days ago and I was really tempted to go on Goudrix! I’ve never been a roller coaster fan I wouldn’t go on the littlest rides when I was younger but because of parc asterix I have come out my shell. Something just came over me and I really wanted to go on so I start queuing and normally my heart races and I shake before ANY ride but with this one I was SO excited. I absolutely loved it! I went on it again and again then went on all the other rides in parc asterix! Once you go on one big ride your unstoppable! Now I can ride any ride and I love them now!
@@totallynotandrewstudios1515 Well they are named Vekoma not Vecomma and even if you did spell it with a C their roller coasters aren't even that bad and there would not be to M's because the dude spelt comma not coma.
At the age of 50 this was the first big coaster I'd ever ridden on. My son lured me on with lies...at the end I almost fell off, wobbled round to the start and went straight back on. (It was a quiet day.) My husband made me come away after the third trip. Biggest adrenaline rush of my life.
This roller coaster used to be a torture machine in the medieval times when prisoners didn't give their captors the information they needed. R.I.P necks
Gourdrix is amazing. I went to ASTRIX PARK with my family but I had to go on this by myself. I'm 12 and it's the best thing I've been on!! The 7 loops are great but the last two bash you head from side to side as they curl
I’ve actually never heard of or seen this ride before, so it was interesting watching the toughness of the track and reading the comments talking about how the ride is really rough on your neck. I don’t know much about this ride so my guess is that it is one of the few remaining hand made non prefab steel rollercoasters, which have a much rougher layout. that and also probably age
All of this guys saying 'This ride murders your neck' probably haven't ridden it because it is a bit rough but with your head back it's the best Roller Coaster in the entire park...
This coaster is on my bucket list just for it's layout! This is hands down one of the most unique arrow loopers in the world. Up there is Loch Ness Monster and Dragon Mountain!
Technically, this was the first roller coaster to have four different types of inversions. Considering how rough this ride is, that was a phyrric victory.
This ride was launched in 1989 and was considered the absolute ride in France, when Disneyland Paris launched space Mountain in 1995, it was considered as too "soft". And today, I see all the negative comments on Goudurix, I guess people are too soft now...ok it is a little rough but it is part of the fun. I love this ride!
Typical parisian northern suburb guy, with the strong "wesh" accent (we call them "wesh" because they always say this word in place of "yes" and at the end of their sentences xD )
Even as a native french speaker this is reaaaally hard to understand. But I think he says something like "On y reva, on est repartis" which basically means "Here we go again"
Everyone who's complaining about a sore neck needs to learn to really ride the roller coaster, anticipate the twists and turns move in to them. Guarantee, you do it right and you won't feel any pain.

For me not it's an vekoma coaster And i can tell you that is not that smooth i can tell you this because i live in france and i ride it a couple of times (the park is in France)
All of the roller coasters I did in my life are Vekoma's and they actually breaks your neck and you leave them with a headache, but the layout is amazing
The layout is pretty sick. Looks intense. Too bad its rough af... Imagine if B&M made this. Or modern vekoma for that matter. Their new rides seem smooth as hell, and quite intense.
Looks kind of like Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain, but more jerky and smaller drops. We went on opening weekend for Viper and a bunch of people complained of neck and back pain. They slowed it down after that.
Damn this looks rougher than the DrakonFire used to be at Busch Gardens, and that thing sent my earring straight into my neck drawling blood. After I rode it, they added signs to remove any jewelry before riding lol.
I rode this some 30 years ago. I had a few months before undergone back surgery after a fracture on a vertebra. Lots of screws and metal bars back there. I can assure you it was painful.
I was watching this ride with a view to getting on it. People got in their seats and started the first climb. Unfortunately they came to a stop near the top. I watched as they sat there for a good half hour. Needless to say I didn't bother getting on it once it opened up again!
Not so awesome layout xD But it has some potential, the same base layout with some modifications to make it smoother can make a quite good coaster maybe.
Damn, that thing does nothing but go upside down, over and over again. Even just one time is one time too many for me. Not to mention, the height of this ride @ 1:10 😲. So more power to all who ride this 😁🖒!!!
Ninja at Six Flags Over Georgia is actually alright now as it got new trains and a refurbishment and is now known as Blue Hawk. The Arrow/Vekoma concussion machine that is also named Ninja located at Six Flags St Louis sadly did not get this refurb yet and continues to beat the sh*t out of riders.
I rode this today. It was pretty uncomfortable to say the least, but then again, this was a Vekoma after all. I just braced myself for the horrible transitions, especially on that Butterfly inversion (which looks absolutely nothing like a butterfly lol) and on the Batwing. How this rough piece of shit managed to outlive Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure (a similar ride built by Arrow, which opened the same year as this ride, 1989) completely baffles me, honestly.
Hey guys, do you think that if they gave this ride the Sunkid Heege Trains like on Prater and Walibi Rhone Alpes' Boomerang it would make for an improvement?
The best thing for Goudurix is to demolish it, and then load the scraps onto a rocket, and send that rocket into the center of the sun. Plus, during the launch, I see a worldwide newscast for the extinction of Goudurix.
Well it's actually a pretty good ride... Infortunaly it's pretty old (it's there from the opening of the park). I think that they need to modernize it. The path is actually pretty good.

It's mostly Arrows that are notoriously rough, Vekoma's get it right once in a while (they improved upon the design since buying Arrow Dynamics).

Just watching this I felt like I broke my neck. But overall I like the amount of going upside down it had and the first drop I enjoy seeing that.
It's not a broken neck, the filming angle is wrong,it was supposed to filmed with the stick sticked on the car
This actually looks underrated NGL
It's not even that rough you just bang your head like once the roughness gives it character. I really loved it.

You can also call it a Vekoma Coaster the Track is basically Arrow because they gave the Track rights to Vekoma
and they built it.
Me: "man if there's a double corkscrew at the end that's gonna wreck th-"
Goudurix: :)
Technically, this was the first roller coaster to have four different types of inversions. Considering how rough this ride is, that was a phyrric victory.
I see Vekoma went to the Arrow school of coaster transitions. They do not look smooth.
+Tommy Carr xD
Arrow was teaching stuff to Vekoma. But ay one point Vekoma ran with Arrow ' s idea. which is why they have the same type of track.
I don't think Vekoma designed their coasters bending Coat hangers
Well at least they didn't go to the Togo school
Arrow did much better when it came to custom loopers

Looks rough
KOASTERKAM it is. Suggestion: Never ride it!
