    I wanted to be a plastic surgeon...so I entered my first Biology class with nothing but excitement and then I left thinking “ISSA NO FOR ME". I quickly ran over to the Business School as fast as I could because I realized that just because I loved my Anatomy class in High School, doesn't mean that pursuing a career as a surgeon is best suited for a long term career.
    I went on to graduate from Quinnipiac University in 2017 with a degree in Business Management and Computer Information Systems. While in college I was accepted into the Google Internship program and Rolls-Royce internship program.
    I now work at Google NYC full-time in the Creative Lab, and before that, I worked as a Tech Intern Sourcer, and before that, I worked as a Google Adwords Account Strategist!
    I’ve learned a lot along the way on how to be successful in your career journey, and through Hayles Consulting I will help you do the same.

    I know people who took jobs without knowing what the pay is, because they were afraid to ask LOL
    It's the FIRST thing I ask. No point wasting both our time unless the wages are where I'm at.

      It's so important that we as black woman fight for salary increases because we historically are grossly underpaid and that must end by us empowering each other to ask for more!

Think about everything you bring to the table that could benefit the team. Thank you 🥰

    This video is very informative and helpful. So my situation is I just got a job 2 months ago as an accountant and I really shorted my self with the salary I took. Before coming in there was a Temp guy who the corporate hired from a Temp agency and they are paying them $70 an hour which is about 145k a year in corporate expense. The corp searched for a permanent accountant and there goes me and I took only a quarter percent of that $70 an hour because I didn’t know that the company was paying that much. And not to mention everybody in the office staff have unlimited vacation except for me. Now I’m thinking of waiting until my 6month probational period to atleast show that I can be an good asset for the company and ask to renegotiate my salary to atleast even half of what they are willing to pay for a temp, which is about 40% increase of my per hour rate right now. Am I making a bad move if I do so?

    • @jellydenishau4669
      @jellydenishau4669 Год назад

      Hi Noriel. Pls keep in mind that temp hourly rates are usually higher than an employee's because they are not provided with company funded benefits. There's probably room for you to get more, but if you're getting medical, dental, 401k match, etc...the company is factoring this cost in.

    All good advice, however What do you do if that new job is with your current employer and they know your current salary. How do you negotiate the new job and salary then?

    • @HaylesConsultingCareerCoach
      @HaylesConsultingCareerCoach  3 года назад +10

      You actually have more leverage now because when you’re new to a company and say “I’m great” they have to just take your word for it, but when you’re already at a company and say “I’m great” there’s clear evidence of your impact within the company. I would lean heavily on providing evidence of the impact you’ve made at the company in relation to what you were expected to do and how you’d like to be compensated based on how you’ve exceeded and will continue to exceed those expectations.

      First: Research credible websites (3 or more) to determine if that range is actually the range (😂)
      Second: If that is in fact the range, choose the highest number in the range, as your asking salary and justify it using your impressive credentials
      Third: If you discover through credible research that the offered range is less than the actual salary offer - start with the newly discovered salary offer and use this video to craft a new pitch
