Ill say it right now. Midra is literally NOTHING compared to The Tarnish when they're the frenzied flame. we burn EVERYTHING. He burnt like, my mimic twice before dying.
And that is why he is a failed lord of Frenzy.
@@Nostroman_Praetor He actually is a Lord of Frenzy at the moment of his boss fight. He became a failed lord of frenzy along with a lot of other people at his manse after the hornsent sacked it for his relationship with a prophet of the flame of frenzy named Nanaya. My interpretation of the lore is that when they realized that embracing the flame and becoming a Frenzied Lord would mean the destruction of everything they loved, they decided not to. Then when the hornsent sacked the manse, they killed Nanaya. She asked Midra to endure, for the sake of everyone, because if he died and became the frenzied lord everything would burn. So in a sense, he was a failed lord because he simply didn't want to die and become one. The bodies of the other truly failed lords are on pikes out front of the manse. This is also why Midra is so upset when you show up to kill him after all his warnings scattered around the area leading to and inside the manse telling you to leave him alone to suffer.
@@xygore0001sigma
I think he was disqualified as king because he was filled with determination to keep his promise to Nanaya rather than hatred towards the world…
@@Nostroman_Praetor Not a failed Lord once he ascends. Failed as in failed to become a Lord, because he was strong enough to hold it at bay, even through immense suffering. It does not say ''Midra, Failed Lord of Frenzied Flame''. It says ''Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame''. Because once he lets go, the Frenzied Flame completely takes over. You are not fighting Midra, really. You are fighting the Frenzied Flame through Midra. It's a good thing that it was our Tarnished of all people who entered the Manse. I doubt anyone else save for Radahn & Miquella (and that's a maybe) could've stopped this guy once unleashed. It's just an Outer God you're fighting through his vessel. That's why he's so fucking strong.
its so terrifying how becoming the lord of chaos....looks like pure ecstasy
I think especially in Midras case it´s more of a sense of relief after enduring great suffering
@@umukzusgelos4834 never considered how our fight was pure bliss to him.
Your head is gone. You're not you anymore, nothing more than a conduit. You are dead.
@@umukzusgelos4834 So a bittersweet(ish) ending?
@@deepism Human anatomy does not apply here. Every Lord in Elden Ring represents an Outer God and they're blessed with the specific God powers.
The reason of the ecstacy of the Lords of Frenzied Flame is because after finally embracing it, they understand the reason behind the Outer God intentions, which is to embrace everything in the universe as one.
Yo, Frenzied Flame hits DIFFERENT with the Young Lion‘s armor
And Melina thinks she take down the lord of chaos. smh
@@ThePubg_Player if a lowly tarnished can kill several lethal enemies, demigods, dragons, drakes, etc. to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame (or any other ending), I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Melina could become a weapon of mass destruction with the right motivation.
@@Magnosummit We don't really know about her lore so yea it might be true.
@@ThePubg_Player I'm biased since Melina is one of my favorite characters (especially how determined she is to kill you with a certain ending). Poetic, in a way. She'd be our savior and demise.
@@Magnosummit If she's the Gloam-Eyed Queen, then she got her butt kicked by Maliketh back before he had Destined Death. So she definitely ain't doing shit to the Tarnished.
they really didn't let us have the goddamn fire head
They should just replace that incantation from the remembrance with a frenzied head. Nobody is using the that I can’t over unendurable frenzy anyway
Yeah i was hoping for a ball fire head to be available in the remembrance shop after beating Mudra.
It seems that despite releasing absolutely incredible games sometimes fromsoft just doesn't want us to have fun.
There should be a transformation form like the dragon ones added in the dlc which replaces head with frenzyflame and boost frenzy incants
@@eddisonwilde4699I use it cuz it looks cool and it basically gives you the frenzy hesd
Love the sound design of the frenzied entity taking control. But the reveal with the orchestral for Midra is downright horror-esque
That sound when Midras flame head fully ignites is so ominous.
And we still can't get it as an in-game helmet.
Did I was so disappointed when there was no helmet
At least midra's yellow "shirt"
Nor omen horns.
Body modification is right there, and yet all we have is turning finger print scars on/off.
There is a mod
It's not a helmet. 🤦♂️
He suffered enough, that's why he did it. We did it because we wanted to.
Too damn bad on Fromsoft's part. Frenzy players didn't get their badass lightbulb head and some exclusive dialogue/secret for already being Lord of Chaos, Death enjoyers didn't get their ghostflame cape worn by death knights but weapons that spews lightning instead. All in all, the DLC doesn't even take in account that we've already beaten the game with a specific ending. Atleast in DS3 DLC, Ashes of Ariandel. Sister Friede aknowledges you as the Lord of Hollows. Wasn't much, but it was cool okay?
CURSE YOU MIZAYAKI! - Igon probably.
Little lore dump. Midra was in agony, he accepted the Flame under duress (the duress being the golden spike-sword in his head) and was a physically feeble, weak man, a feudal lord who lost his fight against the Hornsent. When the Flame took purchase within him, he was told by his Frenzied Finger Maiden, Nanaya, to endure the Frenzied Flame. He did so, rejecting it as much as he could. So, when the time came and he could bear the agony no longer, as I said, he yielded to the Flame under duress.
We, however, with minimal aid from the Flame, besides Hyetta and Shabriri, killed all of the demigods, most of the remaining ancient dragons, champions and living stars, and, eventually, we killed Marika/Radagon. We embrace the Flame, and the Flame sees us as not only a physically dominant Lord but a Lord who has already toppled the main power hierarchy. Thus, the Flame not only takes purchase within us, but it (in theory) steals your body as well, as Shabriri stole Yura's and the Frenzy Maiden stoll Irina's. Basically, we're Midra writ large.
Yeah this is why I never liked the Frenzy Flame ending. You get your body stolen by the frenzy flame, ceasing to be the tarnished. Just a shell that the outer god of the frenzy flame controlles. Also one of the reasons I know we will never get the headpiece for it (the people disappointed we do not get it from Midra) as that would be a lore inconsistency. The tarnished ceases to exist, this is also shown in the cutscene of the Frenzied Flame ending. Why would we look at OUR hands like they are totally different when they never changed in the cutscene? This is because the host of the body has changed and the new host is admiring the new body that was acquired. This is true for Midra, The Lord of Frenzied Flame as well. He literally kills himself and the Frenzy Flame takes over the body.
L ending. After removing all obstacles, we cease to exist, we never burn the world. The flame destroys our consciousness and takes the strong body for itself then burns the world without us.
@@kanatafire4124 but the thing is with this ending is that the tarnished is aware of this, we have willingly gave our body up as kindling to the frenzied flame to burn the world. It is one of the more fleshed out endings compared to the others and in my opinion is the best ending (I have gotten every ending, I'm not being biased)
@@thetruecakehead It's like Ranni's ending for not being a filter change of the throne, but it's not the best ending for the lands between because everything dies. The franzied flame just pretends to care about ending peoples suffering to further manipulate players into making a choice for the "good" of everyone else when it really just wants to watch the world burn, and has for a really long time. Fromsoft already has a "good" ending where you put a dying world out of it's misery in one of their dark souls games.
@thetruecakehead nah age of stars is best ending. Stop demeaning mistress ranni at once! XD.
i feel stupid never realising that Hyetta is Irina's body in 230 hours of playtime...
Midra's transformation is so gnarly,he literally rips off his own head, the tarnished doesn't have shit on that...
Everything burning as our tarnished just watched along with raised hands is plenty cool, given the fact that the next scene shows what we exactly did to the lands between

I was hopping for a especial interaction if you came with the flam yourselve, disapointed i was
Would be even more interesting If it made Immune to miquela grabs, as player character being frenzied enough that they see destruction as a twisted form of love, so instead of having heart stolen and game over getting a damage buff as even more determined to reduce miquela to ash.
@@whywright2663 Miquila's needle could surpress the flame so I would doubt that it would work
@@whywright2663I feel like it’s implied miquellas charm is simply stronger then the frenzy flame I mean his needle can get rid of it completely
Not sure it works like that. Miquella’s power and miquella’s needle are two different things. I don’t think Miquella is persuading the scarlet rot out of Malenia’s body, just halting it.
The difference is we, the tarnished, literally burning the entire world into madness.
Midra is like a baby compared to us.
We are not the same.
He burned the isolated location where his estate is placed. In the player's case, the crucible is the Erdtree, which is really not the same conditions. Through the Erdtree, Godwyn was also able to spread the curse of those who are living in death to the entire Lands Between.
@@Xgenstudioz777 That's why I said, we are not the same.
Honestly, our tarnished were already long gone after that. Our body now being a vessel for the Frenzied Flame to control.
But, the difference is that we embraced it, letting the Frenzied Flame fully control us while Midra tried resisting until the very end. Plus, we already absorbed every last demigod souls along with their Great Rune, making us incredibly powerful while Midra is just some frail old man.
You guys are so gay😂
LMAO. Yes, Jeff you very cool. Now clean your room already before mom returns
I was on my Frenzied Flame playthrough when I found this boss, and my first thought was "Bro really thinks he's HIM."
In my opinion the coolest cutscene in the game (Midras that is) although messmers was great as well

He became the "sun" he wanted to be
You vs the guy she dated before and told him not to worry about you.
I love that they kept that signature low howling when he became a lord of frenzied flame
I love how frenzy flame use one of the most human emotion that make even the strongest weak to prosper: love
Vyke, Tarnished and Midra had someone that they care of and because of that they fell for the frenzy flame and it was probably like that for all the past Frenzy flame lords
Midras transformation was legit amazing. Just beat him today and it was a blast
The throns through him reminds me of the Elden Ring in Radagon. And it looks very cruciblel in shape as he relaxes with it in his skull to body . Where there's a gap. Like with other beings.
Both of them become Dead cells guy =]]
Based reference, still disappointed that I can’t do a beheaded cosplay as Miyazaki still needs to add the frenzied flame helm

@@hgyuuuuhj098 I was just giving a name to what that flame on midra’s head could be called if it ever was actually equipable
@@hgyuuuuhj098 also look at some other comments, I just called it that because really what else was I supposed to say
I feel like the coolness of the frenzied flame ending is multiplied depending on what armor you're wearing, and the night cavalry or maliketh sets go the hardest, no contest
Love the sauron face reveal!
I don't know if other people have commented on it, but I find it really interesting that the most compelling reason to choose Frenzy, and the reason most people do it at first, is to try and save Melina from sacrificing herself to burn the Erdtree. And the opening dialogue Midra gives implies that he also harbors regrets about a woman he could not save. So it seems to be a recurring theme with Lords of Frenzy to embrace the fire trying to save someone they care about, only to lose them anyway.
Midra burns the arena's ground and walls when he does his phase 2 signature move
So the entire lands between becomes the abyss in this ending.
All my DLC run I was with the frenzied flame. It was so cool fighting Midra for the title of the one and only Lord of Frenzy.
Wouldve been cool if there was a special interaction with midra if youve been afflicted with the flame
At first, it was a sense of outrage; the pretender must be put down. Then it becomes clear he isn't actually a pretender. He is stuck with it and maintains no pretense of being able to properly weild it. So it becomes a sense of pity; the afflicted must be put down - just like the rest of these lands between that are doomed to eternal torture.
Why can't we have that Frenzied Flame Head as a Helmet after getting The Frenzied Flame Ending and going into NG+? Fromsoft,Miyazaki wtf man?!
Opportunity missed to make frenzied head we could've looked like the guy from dead cells
Hopefully in the future, FromSoft implement new game story after the ending, or we can visit the world we chose.
It would be kind of hard to make a story about the frenzied flame ending considering it would probably just boil down to “burn everything”
@@YahoooWahoooAnd plus, we wouldn't have the tarnished as they are fully now being the vessel of Frenzied Flame to control at their will same like what happened to Midra. Despite fully trying to resist the Frenzy Flame, he failed and became a vessel of it.

I like how Midra is voiced by Patches.
Some people have mentioned how the Lord of Frenzied Flame looks like ecstasy or relief. I posit a different perspective. The Lord of Frenzied Flame is not the person they once were, but rather they have become a living avatar for the flame of chaos. The rapturous and flowing movements are the Frenzied Flame itself rejoicing in fiinally entering this world.
Midra was a crippled old man, the tarnished on the other hand can out match Radahn strength and Malenia speed and talent. Midra will get squashed.
There is no one who stand a chance against you a Tarnished. You are the most brutal and fearsome creature ine the world of elden ring...just look at that chaos after you obtain frenzied flame
spoiler alert: you're a demigod too
@@im2arrogant118 oh i love that theory. The fact that you hear moseleum bell and stomp sounds at the very start of the game is really a nice discovery by tomato chan. If the theory is correct then it just makes more sense as to why our character won't die but keeps on getting back again and again like a non stop killing machine its not because its a game but because you are soulless and you will be revived again and again by the grace. Sadly miyazaki will never confirm this
@babayaga9805 the mausoleum bells is a newish thing. I've believed we're a demigod for almost 2 years now. The bell thing just made me believe it more. But the moment I was really sure was when I figured out Torrent was Marika's and not Miquella's, and lowe and behold, the dlc artwork confirmed that too. Our mother's horse chose us. What a coincidence. Also wincest yey!
I still say it was an utter waste not to add a frenzy dragon in that forest and give us some frenzied dragon breath
How many Lords have we killed? Two Elden Lords, one Frenzied Flame, one dragon, and one…of compassion? Does Vyke count? Godrick is a storm lord…I guess…
There’s also rykard and mohg. I wouldn’t count vyke because he never became a lord. That would make it around 8 bosses with the title lord in total
@@aledg25 Dang, I didn't even realize I forgot them.
Flame of Ruin vs Flame of Frenzy, who would win?
I’ve had been on the stance that Midra is a cheap knockoff from the Tarnished Frenzy Lord. As always, remove that imposter!
Wow 😮
Midra is the failed lord of the frenzied flame, because he was determined enough to not accept the yellow flame of Chaos. All because of his promise, he wasn't weak to accept it, until some Tarnished comes and he just had enough
Frenzied flame goes hard wif the bull goat set
add the frenzied head and dragon ending
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
Tarnished/Frenzied Flame Lord: “Finally, a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!”
Midra is the weakest lord of frenzied flame. In comparison, the tarnished is exponentially more powerful and can properly wield the flame.
there it is. there's why Midra was a failed lord of frenzy
he was failed because he was too weak a vessel.
He isnt, his health bar is "lord of frenzied flame" not "failed lord of frenzied flame", he WAS a falied one but became an actual one through our actions, the difference is the location, we do it in the heart of the erdtree, he have the elden ring (the thing that can alter the rules of the world), besides circumstance, midra is not different than us, and makes sense, after all the lord of frenzied flame is just a host for it.
@@JP-kp6xv the titles aren't always that literal. the ash of war of nanaya's torch reffers to the person the torch is made out of as "lord", even though it also mentions that he failed to become one. that torch also shows us that just cause you get the "sauron eye" head thing doesn't mean you have succeded in becoming the lord of frenzy, as that torch is literally that guy's frenzied head at the end of his spinal colum
personally I believe than when midra's rememberance mentions he was too weak to become a lord, it's talking about our fight with him, not some distant event. he atempted to become the lord of frenzy during our fight, but we killed him, and thus he failed to become the lord of frenzy

I kinda don't like how this is the way they end the frenzied flame story. A big let down that this seemingly chaotic force is just completely shut down in just 1 bossfight
The Frenzied Flame should've gotten a whole nother expansion of its own
Không còn là bạn hay midra nữa. Cả 2 chết rồi, chỉ còn thằng đa cấp frenzy flame trong cái xác đó thôi, dĩ nhiên là cái xác của tarnished làm vật dẫn tốt hơn
His remembrance literally says it, we are what he’s supposed to be, yet cannot be, he is just too weak to carry out his duty as the lord of frenzied flames
Tarnished’s lord of frenzied flame is inherited from the actual frenzied flame, more like the flame took over us. Whereas Midra is evolved from the seed he found during his studies and grow into the flame due to his suffering.
All in all, Midra is still Midra after transformation, but we are no longer us.
Not true. Both the tarnished and midra become mere puppets for the frenzied flame after transforming. That’s why they both move in grace and bliss
too bad we can't use the Frenzied Flame form on normal gameplay...
Midra looks better in my opinion
"Forgive me dearest Zanzibart"
Tarnished transformation is way better
There 100% should be a transformation item similar to the Dragonstones for Frenzied Flame.
Consume it, and your head permanently turns into a ball of Frenzied Flame, giving you a permanent Madness Aura that affects you and everything around you, and greatly increases your Focus (Madness and Sleep resist).
This would last until death like the Dragonstones.
While active, you cannot equip armor. Your damage resistances are increased from base value without armor, but not by much without Talisman/Tear bonuses.
The madness buildup would not scale with anything, but would be constant.
Additionally, targets that are afflicted by Madness within range of the effect take twice as much FP loss, including yourself.
Just gonna say it, Melina ain’t gonna do shit to Tarnished Lord of Frenzy…may chaos take the world! Shabriri is still a douche though
Esperaba más de él y lo mate al primer intento, debo decir que fue. Muy anticlimatico
Is that an eyeball or a mouth?

In my head canon, Nanaya was evil. She brought the torch to midra from far off distant land. She knew Midra wasnt strong enough to become lord of frenzy so she Snitched on the hornsent inquisition so they'd Torture his entire household succumbing to madness. She told midra to "endure" all the pain and madness so when our tarnished arrives and pushes him to that last little step he needed to take, thats when he trully becomes a lord of frenzied flame, after eternity of pain and suffering. Everyone member of the house is burned or beheaded in front of the house while Nanaya passed away in peace on her chair while cradling the Frenzy torch.
But then, why would she “snitch” on Midra if she was the one hiding away from the Inquisitors so they wouldn’t get to her OR Midra?

I can't believe Fromsoft didn't add in unique dialogue with Midra if your character was embraced by the three fingers, I'm sorry but that's straight up laziness but then again this is the same studio who cut out an entire and mind you already finished quest line where Kale finds out that his people were sealed away due to the golden orders fear of the flame of frenzy and man it was dope.
