I'm 100% positive they don't care about the ad and jut see it as a reason to complain. Its actually kind of pathetic.
the main reason, to me anyways, is because the whole reason they were bought up by fullscreen was supposed to be so they didn't have to do this kind of shit anymore. if they're getting this huge influx of funds, they shouldn't have to put long ads in short videos anymore. but they are, which worries me, because it stinks of greed more than it does of necessity, and thats when companies go down the shitter, and i dont want that for RT.

Doesn't really work when the ad is a part of the actual video.
It would be a bitch move of them to accept money from sponsors (actual companies like hulu plus, dollar shave club, squarespace.. etc) and not mention them at all. I know they do it on podcasts, but Hulu probably gave them a huge chunk and RT just wants to show their gratitude by making a cute little advertisement to help out a long-time huge sponsor.
I'm sure if you had a business and got a huge sponsor, you wouldn't give a fuck what people thought, you'd go on about how amazing that company is for helping you out. People just need to chill out.

Usually older people who have no concept of phone etiquette, I put my mum on my non-priority caller list and then set my phone to auto-decline all non-priority calls. If it's not one thing, it's your mother!

When I'm not busy I set my phone to "classic" so it allows everyone in my phone book to call me. I class conventions as "busy" so unless it's urgent it can wait, my dad is one of my priority callers but I know he would never ring me unless it was a proper emergency.
To be fair the guy at least got to be part of a story in a podcast I don't think he was complaining to much after that podcast.
Hey people, guess what, I saw the ad, I don't ever use an adblocker, and I watch tons of videos on RUclips. I am still alive and well and I haven't lost any precious time because of 20 seconds lost per video...
In 3 videos that's 1 minute, 60 minutes makes 180 videos, assuming you watch 360 videos a month, for only one hour a month, which, if we're going to spend time watching 360 videos a month, we can easily go one extra hour without sleep one day or during a lunch break, for only one hour a month, they make decent ad revenue, make a profit as a company, pay the entertainers who created the content, and have money to create even more new content for us. Ads are not a problem at all, TV has commercials, those go on for like 8/30 minutes, and we have all accepted that as a world that revolves around the exchange of currency for goods and services, advertising your goods and services can increase your chances to receive currency. I'm sorry to say, none of you are so important that 20 seconds of your life are more precious than anyone else's, or that it's a waste of your time to watch an ad, because guess what, those 20 seconds passed, and even the 10-20-400 seconds you've taken to read this comment have already passed and in that time you neither solved the mysteries of dark matter, nor cured cancer AIDS or ebola, or even attempted to, nor WILL you within the NEXT 10-20-4000 seconds! So get over yourselves and how precious you think your lives are. If your time left in this world is guaranteed to end at a very specific, very close date from now, even then, you have already chosen to watch entertainment of your preference, all the while knowing the kind of society we have today revolves around monetary gain first and foremost.

I actually knew the guy who was trying to get the selfie, (He used to be a coworker but left a long time ago) he told me he was still mad at his mom about this.
All these idiots in the comments: "NOOOO! There's a 20 second ad that you can easily skip in this FREE video!!! I hate Rooster Teeth! DISLIKE AND UNSUBSCRIBE!!!111!"
Seriously people, it's giving Rooster Teeth money and it's not hurting you in any way. If you had the chance to get a little extra money for a 20 second ad, wouldn't you take it? Just enjoy the video, and appreciate all the work they put in to make a single episode.

The fact that this guy didn't get the photo is the best possible outcome. He got a shoutout at RTX when the story was first told, they mentioned that story on the following podcast a week later and now there's an animated adventure about it. I'd rather be able to say i'm the guy from that story than have a selfie with Burnie like thousands of others.
But now that guy is in an RTAA episode. That's like 3/4 better than taking a selfish with Burnie.
I knew someone would end up doing this to make a better story for this series.

So they got acquired by fullscreen and said nothing will change, then suddenly we now have ads in the beginning, I don't really care about the ads but lets not pretend this isn't because of the acquisition.
Actually, Fullscreen was to give RT larger sums of money. The ads were an RT decision not Fullscreen's. Maybe they now have a larger budget on Laser Team because of the acquisition and need more money to fill it.
All I am trying to say is that Fullscreen did not cause more ads, it's been RT not earning enough money because people want to keep working there and RT has to keep paying them.

Also we have had ads in other shows similar to this, I liked having an add with humor in it like that, if you don't like it fast forward.
Evil Paragon 2 Fullscreen acquired them for a large sum of money, they want returns, it isn't unlikely that they stipulated ads to bypass adblock.

Reminds me of the time I met Matt Hullum at RTX, I got to take a picture of him with some guy but he didn't have enough time to take a picture with me.
I was taking the pic on a camcorder, so the other guy's mom didn't call in the middle of it.

Out of all the Roosterteeth content, I never understand why they upload RTAA in 4k. Aren't the animations supposed to be purposely a little. That's why I love it. It purposely a little bad so it makes it unique. Bumping it up from 720p to 1080p already makes little to no difference I don't see how bumping it to 4k will make any much of a difference.
