Took me months to realize that when Barb says “I see your point and I see your point” she’s literally on the fence
:o
Stop it
NO
I always took it as Barbara peeking into the play pen to check up on the two arguing infants.

1:53 The face Burnie makes indicates his transformation into Church.
AgentMaroon78 i cant stop going backto that
You can see the switch flip.
No not that switch...
Flip flip flip flip flip flip flip
He cant unleash his anger as church anymore so it all comes out in real conversations.
I miss Church...
I love how Gavin was in a child seat for the main car
It does fit Gavin very well
Completely forgetting Gavin tried to say on a plane do you look at plane signs
Yeah, I’m not sure if he’s implying that there are no plane signs and therefore there are no road signs, or that plane signs do exist but he doesn’t have to look for them. Either way, he’s an idiot.
He's referring to the countless signs present on runways, which a pilot would have to pay attention to, but the passenger doesn't.
he keeps bringing it up, too. don't know why, but it's hilarious
Alex Hill I bet that’s what he means, but part of me is hoping that he thinks that there are signs floating in midair that are similar to road signs but with planes.
That jet ski parking
This has the be the best RTAA in a long while
Ikr the past RTAAs have been meh but this one is really good.
Definitely
well because it's from old podcast
Probably because it's from the good podcast. Not those other ones.
I mean that Jeremy one was pretty good.
I wanted to know about that residential parking pass.
joe kickass
Me too. Guess we gotta watch the podcast.
That’s where they get ya...
@@09Santanico20 I bet they didn't get back to it though.
In cities where there is a lot of car traffic and not a lot of off street parking, there's residential parking zones that you have to apply for a pass to park on the street. Its so people who live there dont' have to look for parking like 4 blocks from their house or apartment
@@joesomenumbers Not all heroes wear capes.

If it was Geoff, that deer would have already been run over.
Twice
Don't worry, if it was Geoff driving, the deer would've jumped off a bridge to get away.
@@sailorsaturn1060 there'd probably be a kitten on that bridge as well but it wouldn't jump...
SailorSaturn10 right after it looks at him.
Geoff knows better now... He would have crashed the car so the deer wouldn't get hurt and then proceed to fight off a pack of wolves with a hammer to buy time for evac
If Gavin helped out on parking then I can see a scenario where he points out spots only for Meg to tell him to shut up and let her get on with it.
The world will never know since Gav will never help
Yeah megs like that, part of the reason I never really liked her
+Nuke Narwhal Well i guess it's good that Gav's pounding that and not you then?
That's why Meg and Gav are a good pairing.
True, but it's the intent. If he had said "Oh I've tried before but she tells me to shut up" then everyone would be like "Oh alright"
I learn that if you sit shotgun, you are the co-pilot. You help the driver with what ever he needs to make him focus on driving safer. From handing snacks/drinks to helping find parking.
The shotgun seat is reserved as a position of respect. And for people who carry shotguns. -SARGE
2:29 *it's not a joint effort*
*whispering "It's free real estate"
I lost it
_it's not a joint effort_
I was scrolling the comments hoping someone said this 😂😂 my fave bit👌
i love that every time they animate Gavin in a car, he's in a child's seat.
Animated Meg going wall-eyed, blowing a raspberry and flipping off Gavin at 2:45 is the best thing I've seen in RTAA thus far.
2:44
I imagine that exact exchange happens about three times a day for Gavin.
Is this the first time we've seen Meg in an RTAA?
Not sure if it's the 1st but she was in the one about Linday's baby shower
I was thinking that too
@@lucigallagher4001 Then you are sure if it's the first. Since it's obviously not.
they probably meant that they weren't sure if the baby shower one was the first

No I'm saying I'm not sure if that was the 1st but I can confirm this one is not
That close up for “it’s not a joint effort” is cracking me up. 😂
2:43 I watched this so many times over and over and laughed harder each time. I'm now dead. Thanks RTAA
on the contrary, my dad absolutely HATES it when my mom tries to suggest where to park
Charlotte Lim same. If it’s a normal parking lot, like shaddup unless you see a really great spot. But if it’s like a venue or hospital or something like that, like not a traditional parking lot, EVERYONE in the car should be helping out.
As someone who sometimes has to park in a city (street parking)... help is always appreciated for that.
Yeah but.... woman.
(Just a joke)
Because there's a huge difference between trying to help someone in a way they want to be helped and trying to assert control over a situation despite being a passive participant.
Mostly because she's suggesting to park it in another lady which is her way of saying "I want a divorce" but you know same, same
The moment Gus said co-pilot Gavin knew he had used an awful example to defend himself.
But he didn't. The Co-pilot is still a pilot who pilots the aircraft, Gavin isn't a Co-driver with Meg, he's just a passenger which is why he said the pilot doesn't need the passenger's help to land the plane.
@@KnightJauneArc Right but I think for most people the passenger is the navigator and does GPS and helps look for parking, etc. so in essence the front passenger is the co-pilot.
No, because the co-pilot has controls. The front passenger seat in a car is still just a passenger seat, same as the back seat. None of the controls for the car are on the front passenger side of the window.
@@Matt-wg9xn thank you. I am my mom's co pilot.
@@KnightJauneArc That’s what made it an awful comparison. He said “Does a pilot need help when flying a plane?”. Yes they do, that’s exactly the point of a copilot
1:53 and 2:45. Art. Pure art
That is the face of perfection
Gavin in a kids-chair....
Marcus Alm took me two minutes to notice he was in it the entire time.
Would you trust him anywhere else?
They did that in a previous RTAA where it was Barbra, Burnie and Gavin in a giant SUV and Gaving was in the pink child seat XD
Poor gav. You deserve at least a red kid seat. That’s what all the cool kids ride in.
The animation team does such an amazing job of capturing the essence of gavin's character and mannerisms... top notch!
I love watching these two fight, because both of their analogies always make sense.
How does one rely on being driven for almost 30 years
He couldn't get a license at first, because citizenship. For awhile he lived with Geoff/Jack so they'd drive him. Then there's taxis and Uber. Easy to not drive with enough people willing to drive you, in an mostly urban area like Austin.
Alex VA much of England has more public transport options, and cars aren’t as needed. See that in the US in some major cities.
Add in some areas you can just walk to. (As someone who can afford to get by but no car...)
Just a matter of caring or not.
If I were to guess, never go somewhere alone.
Fair
From all the defensive driving we have been taught, paying attention to the road even if you aren’t driving isn’t just about helping its about safety. You can be an attentive passenger without backseating.
This.
If the driver is being VERY unsafe, telling them such isn't backseat driving, it's looking out for your own safety as a passenger... and if the driver keeps it up, you'd be best off asking to be left out of the car.
Kuroro Ussually unsafe drivers are the one who hates being told how to drive the most. If you even try to suggest they are driving too fast they willlook at you as if you've spit on their mother's grave.
@@LeonGun8 that's their problem, not mine... and i meant VERY unsafe.
If your going twice the speed limit, you're either slowing down to be safe or to drop me off.
It also depends how you ask... "hey [driver] I'm being serious here, I don't feel safe with [very dangerous element] please stop it or drop me off right now." You'll either be dropped off or they'll be more careful (Maybe begrudgingly so)
And if they're dumb enough to refuse both options... that's unlawful detainment.
That is me I feel more comfortable as a passenger helping than as a driver
2:29 “it’s not a joint effort” needs to be a shirt!
Gavin on a booster seat is the best.
I'm convinced that Gavin hates to be wrong and won't concede to being wrong or doing something like that in a inconsiderate manner even if it makes him look like this made him look like, lmao. Even with two solid examples he's committed and he's going down with this ship-- mostly because he didn't help the captain figure out where to park. XD
Every time I hear Bernie spit out: “Hey Gus!” I know some gold is about to be said.

THanks mate, I was looking for this.
Thank you!

This is the pinnacle of what RTAA's are capable of; gavin's booster seat, the play pen, the faces, and all the little references. Beautiful...
I like how you can tell that Gav has never had to park a car, and totally doesn't understand the annoyance of turning to your passenger, and telling them to keep a basic awareness of the surrounding area to try and make this exercise of evolution as painless as possible. Or maybe I just really hate trying to find a parking space in a busy lot.
I love the expression on Gavin's face at 2:46. :T

@@CastleBravo023 Ayy, totally swag
They're arguing two different points. Gav is saying "Someone driving can find a place to park and do it without help". While Burnie and Gus are saying "Helping to find parking speeds up the process and is appreciated". I think Barb got it but definitely leads to a funny scenario.
so if I understand you correctly,
Gavin is saying although he has the capacity as a passenger to look at signs he isnt obligated to do so, therefore hasnt seen the residential parking pass sign.
Burnie and Gus are saying because Gavin has the capacity to look at signs as the passenger he should have seen the residential parking pass sign.
or more simply.
Gavin isnt the pilot, so he doesnt have to look at runway signs
is the same as
Gavin isnt the driver, so he doesnt have to look at road signs
@@tk5800thesecond spot on, you got it exactly right
“It’s not a joint effort” 😂😂😂
As with every argument with Gavin, I can't tell who's right or who I agree with...
Because they're both having seperate arguments.
Gavin is schrodenger's moron: He's both a genius and an absolute nincompoop at the same time, and it's only when he opens his mouth that you find out which.
He has a habit of applying logic that only works in a parallel, but differently-based argument, and tries to force the latter to match the former, like trying to jam the triangle through the square hole on a Fisher-Price toy.
Gavin is like Karl Pilkington. Sometimes they say really profound stuff and sometimes you wonder how can somebody be this stupid.
5uperM
No he isn’t. A lot of times like this Gavin is right and just can’t explain it well enough.
The animation are getting so much better I love it.
One of the best RTAAs in a while, good job guys!
Gus with the completely inappropriate analogy, as if where you're sitting is the determining factor in whether or not you should help read road signs. Gavin, as far as I know, doesn't drive, and doesn't know how to drive. So him helping Meg to drive and park (which is something only drivers really need to be concerned about) would be exactly like a passenger on a plane helping out the pilot. The copilot can steer the plane if they need to, Gavin, a passenger, cannot
I feel like half the arguments could´ve been solved had they just been better to explain more clearly to Gavin what they mean.
Like he should help too look for a parking space so that it will go quicker to find one
It reminds me of Carl Pilkington. Neither of them are idiots (most of the time), but people often take what they say out of context, or refuse to further explain what they mean if it was taken the wrong way. Then again, that's what makes them so entertaining lol
Gavin just lacks any form of common sense. He can retain a crazy amount of information but he can just barely communicate that information to people.
I agree, most of these simple arguments are just problems because theyre arguing different points. Gav is saying "The person driving is 100% capable of finding and parking without assistance" Burnie and Gus are saying "Its nice to have help to find parking to speed up the process". Seems like Barb is the only one who understood that.
I think it went off track because they were shocked that Gav hasn't ever thought of helping someone find a parking spot as a passenger in his 30 years of not driving.
Gavin is also immediately obfuscating any point they make by talking about irrelevant vehicles. His analogies keep derailing any point burnie or gus keep trying to set up.
Gavin's main point is he doesnt care and feels no responsibility or inclination to help. Thats what burnie and gus keep trying to argue against.
Burnie Burns should be in the internet hall of fame. True legend.
Hands down one of the best RTAs I've ever watched. And I've watched them all.
I’m really going to miss Burnie being on the podcast for great moments like these.
I am constantly amazed at the poorly constructed analogies these two come up with when they argue. 😆
Whoever animated the faces in this one needs a raise.
That be rad.
I am in love with this animation! Putting Gavin in a car seat, having Barb steer Bernie around a deer....brilliant stuff!
I don't drive, I don't even have my license even though I'm well old enough to have one, but when I'm in the car with anybody, including my boyfriend, I tell them if I see a spot that they might have missed. Also, if they aren't paying attention and a light has turned green. (Happens more than you'd think)
Flip, flip, flip, flip, flip.
The animation in this one is amazing
So many different angles and movements and things you normally don’t see another RTAAs
1:32 is how spirit airlines drops you off at your destination
I think Meg is the prettiest RTAA character.
.
After Fem-Burnie of course.
I'm gonna have to go with Catbug on that one.
Gus is _right there!_
UltraPrimal yeah especially at 2:44
You spelled Gus wrong.
Too bad she's not in real life.
I feel like the passenger in a car having somewhat of a shared responsibility in parking a car is an American thing, it's not something that is expectant here in the UK which is why I completely agree with Gavin on this one :D
My manager: Hey can you stay a bit longer?
Me: 2:44
OMG this is one of the best animated ones yet!
I mean, Burnie's face is amazing! And when Gavin leans in! And the Meg raspberries all over his face!
I'm totally with Gavin on this one. Unless the driver ASKS for help I'm not helping.
"This doesn't seem like a helicopter landing, I think we're going to crash." 1:26
that didn't age well
can we seriously please just have a new series or bit or whatever where burnie and gavin just argue and debate about stuff, god every time it is pure solid gold entertainment!!!
This and the construction argument are some of the moments on the RT Podcast! Great animation guys!
2:44
Ppppppbbbbttttt. Flip flip flip flip flip
It is soooo good
I need this as a GIF
That was the highlight of the RTAA.
Gavin is using the logic I used when I was twelve or thirteen. I think this is half the reason I still get lost driving around my parents' neighborhood.
Gavin's dumb that way.
Oh my god I love that little mat that they roll the toy car around on xD that mat was my childhood
0:55 Barbara's laugh gave me life, we shall protect this laugh!
I love how disproportionately angry Burnie got about this
So it’s not normal for people to throw you off the side of the plane when it is landing
Cybernetic Husky
Oops...
Not with health and safety as it is these days. Back in my day i was thrown out of a plane at 30,000 feet and i liked it. A few broken spines never hurt anyone!
😂😂
+HASEnoncorperated Yeah apart from the physical torment of snapping your spine in half it won't hurt at all.
Really? .... I gotta stop flying Delta
I love how Gavin is the only one in like a child's car seat thing.
I love when they animate Gavin in the back seat he’s always in a child’s car seat.
I'm with Gavin on this one you don't need 2 people to drive a car while you do for a plane. So a passenger in a car is not needed to help the driver unless the driver asks for it. On a plane there pretty much NEEDS to be 2 pilots because there is so much to monitor one pilot can't do it all, so it's the job of the copilot to help. It is not the job of the passengers in a car to help the driver short of maybe navigation, and again that's if the driver asks for it. Clearly that's not needed if the driver knows where they're going or has another method of figuring that out without the passengers assistance. The passenger's responsibility when driving is to not distract the driver.
Also radio control
In an airplane you are REQUIRED to be at a minimum of 2 people in the cockpit unless its a single seat airplane, so gus and burnies "co-pilot" analogy is stupid, if it was required that two people are in the car at all times when driving then yeah sure
the only time the passenger can help or has to help is when the driver asks for it because he/she is unsure of the place where they are at or its in the city and its busy or something like that, then the passenger can help but otherwise nope
Gavin is right.
All drivers must get a licence to drive a vehicle. That licence will only be issued to a person who has proven that they can drive safely by following road signs by an examiner.
Thus it's the drivers responsibility to drive and understand road signs, not the passengers.
Some passangers may be kid's; you would never expect them to know how to read road signs.
So when they grow up do they suddenly gain the knowlage of reading the road and driving, no they only gain that knowledge when they pass a driving test.
In Gavin's case he can't drive so he will not take on any responsibility for Megs driving as she has a licence that proves that she doesn't need his help.
You dont need a license or training to find an empty parking spot, in cities like atlanta and austin when i was a kid id help look for a spot cuz ya know crowded cities and random people popping from the sides of cars, now the driver could do it alone, but its safer and faster for a passenger to help look for a parking spot, also the front passenger seat is the seat for the person who helps navigate, btw the driving tests dont check how well you can find a paking spot it tests if you even know how to park, and guess what, according to statistics thats the moat failed part of the test so id say yea people should help find parking as a kid so they atleast know whats going on, also i dont wanna be a chauffeur to someone when i drive, yea backseat driving is annoying and useless talk is bad, but saying where an open spot is happens to be neither, and if i saw it id tell em and if they kept pointing out spots ive seen then why havent i parked already
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST RTAA
One of the most hilarious yet!!! i love Gav's face at 2:47 HAHAHA
0:10 is Devorce a word? Did he mean Divorce?
"Shes fully capable of figuring out her own parking". Im with Gavin with this. Meg is an intelligent, capable woman who can do it
levitator45 The point isn’t whether she’s capable or not, the point is that he puts zero effort in to help. Also, if you’re driving in a crowded area, looking around for something, it can be very dangerous to keep your head on a swivel. If the passenger can assist with that, it’s keeping everyone safer
@@matthewbrown9086 Wrong the point is HE doesn't need to help her with parking unless SHE ask HIM.
By far the best animation on an RTAA! Love it
During the bit when the passengers are thrown onto the tarmac, it lined perfectly as the characters fell out of frame my icons all refreshed on the bottom of my screen, incredible timing

Poor simple Gavin, hope Meg never leaves or he’s screwed.
Uber.
i'd say it'd be good for him he needs to learn not to depend on someone.
im sure the milionaire will be fine.
He's not stupid, i don't suggest the driver to park anywhere as they have the controls so it's there responsibility to park safely.
parking is not that complicated, pointing to a parking spot doesn't mean you're telling them how to park.
Gavin is 100% right, he shouldn't need to watch for parking. It's not his job.
This is one of the BEST RTAA! Great animating!
Hats off to Perry Hull for that awesome animation at 2:29 xD
Thanks bub!
*It's not a joint effort*
I have to say I absolutely love when Burnie makes Gavin look like an idiot. These are the best RTAA shorts.
Honestly, Burnie just proved he approves of Backseat driving. So as stupid as Gavin's statements became (he was just playing it up by the end honestly), Burnie saying a passenger should be a "co-pilot" is like " eeeeeeeh no".
Yeah he was playing it up but I love how he can rope Burnie in with those statements. To an extent the passenger should be a co-pilot at least a little bit.
@@trimetrious9 Only if they're asked. Otherwise it can be annoying. Any time my friends try to "co-pilot" themselves it's usually because I'm going a way to get somewhere that I know and feel comfortable taking, but they don't so they get freaked out. If someone is asked for help, then it's okay because the person actually needs and wamts your help
Fair point. It's not always necessary.
Chocoboba Fett I disagree. I hate backseat driving but I fully expect passengers to offer help and/or information as needed. If I don’t want it? It’s simple. I let them know I’ve got it under control and I’ll ask for their input when I need it. I shouldn’t have to ask them for help.
I just love when Burnie and Gavin fight. :’)
Omg this was the best rtaa in forever, and I loved seeing meg in it
I have to agree with Gavin even though like usual he doesn’t explain his point clearly. If someone’s been driving for a long time they can find a parking spot themselves and don’t need help. However if the driver ever asks for help then Gavin for sure should help them.
Remember when rooster teeth was good!?
One of my favorite RTAA's here, had me in stitches. But Gavin does have a point.
That end had me rolling for some reason " flip, flip, flip,"
Good thing y can derive, but i cant get anywhere without instructions
You may be able to derive, but can you integrate as well?
Gavin is right in this one for once lol
Not for once, I am starting to notice that people in Rooster Teeth really like to jump down his throat to make him look like an idiot. Sometimes it works, then you get moments like this and the whole Pubert Adams situation where he is correct but people are like "No, u stoopeed!".
This is my favorite RTAA episode ever
One of the greatest ones yet
I'm with Burnie and Gus. If you live in a city and are in the car, you help keep an eye open for parking when it's time to park. That's fundamental etiquette, so the driver doesn't have to split their attention between the road in front of them and all the lines of parked cars/itty-bitty street signs.
I bummed a lot of rides living in LA, and if I'd just sat there twiddling my thumbs while my driving friends scouted for parking, I'd have stopped getting rides in a *heartbeat*.
I'm not, and I live in the same city as all of them.
If you're in a part of Austin where you need to look for parking you've already lost if you need someone's help.
There is no parking spot that lasts more than 30 sec downtown, and you usually have to cut someone off to grab it.
So Gavin should just keep quiet and let Meg concentrate.
All that and if you’re turning on a crossing/highway the person on your side should look the right side (left if your in eu or japan) to confirm if the road is clear
@@derpdankstrom That's a bit too trusting. I'm not blindly turning onto a roadway without verifying myself that it's clear. If your passenger messes up and says it's clear when it's not then regardless you as the driver are responsible for whatever happens.
Yea, I'm with Gavin. I live in Austin(off Riverside) and only use Lyft to get around. The driver can figure out the parking
As someone that legally can't drive, I'm with Gavin on this one. It really isn't your responsibility to pay attention to parking signs, because if you have zero experience driving, you're going to be more of a liability than an asset in the situation.
If the person ASKED for my help, I would definitely do my best to offer it when looking for parking. But if they don't, I think it's more rude to make assumptions and tell someone where to park. That's called backseat driving, a term commonly seen as a bad thing.
You're trusting the person to drive you miles and not hit any other cars or obstacles. I'm pretty sure you can trust them to pay attention to the signs--because that's what a good driver is supposed to do anyway.
1:05 "I understand where you're coming from and I also understand where you're coming from."
Dammit, Barb. You're of no help to this conversation. *DRUNK BURNIE WOULD CONTRIBUTE MORE TO THIS DISCUSSION THAN YOU CURRENTLY ARE!!!*
To be honest, this has probably been the best RTAA for quite some time, in my opinion
How did I miss this one? It's so good and animated Meg is my new favorite
