9:18 Wow my ears perked up when I heard you say Lakeview. LKV is where my family homesteaded back in the late 1800s. We still own a few hundred acres down there today and it’s my favorite place on this earth. I have my Private Pilot Checkride tomorrow and have used this as a good omen.

Been watching a bunch of your videos lately. Excited to get started flying for SWA, I start next month! Looking at getting myself the Pro flights. Currently flying with the A20's.

I work for a Seattle based airline. I love my schedules. Typically only do transcons. Love the redeye flights (to the east coast) and then overnight for 24+ hrs then fly back home and done. We also have what we call as "shortbacks", where those redeye flights have a 10 hr overnight. Get back home BEFORE your showtime the previous night. Those are awesome cause you're gone less than 24 hours but get equivalent credit to a two day trip. One/two leg days are great! Evening showtimes are the best because it feels like an extra day off.

He's done videos training at the SWA HQ in Dallas with practicing his preflight flows. They're not that old, he upgraded to captain not that long ago and had to relearn left seat flows.

KBUR can be a mixed bag. Hopefully those winds were favoring 08 and not 15 with that marine layer. The mins for 15 are a no-go for anything less than CLR lol

I love Southwest Airlines its laid-back all the employees thats why we stick to this Airline and now its great to see that Southwest pilots are also so happy, laid back and nice. Its really a small world. After reading your bio, the part of you training out of ALTUS AFB reminded me of when I lived in Clinton, Ok, & drove a school bus, country route I always enjoyed watching the C 5s training.Dont know how far East they flew but would sometimes catch one making the turn back South.That was the best part of my country route.

My son and I watch all your videos. Love the new camera. Question for you. My son wants to be a commercial pilot but worries his stuttering will hinder his communication with ATC. He has a moderate stutter and pauses sometimes when he talks. Do you know any pilots that have became pilots with a stutter?
He can always practice. It’s almost like doing a speech or something. As a 4 year+ instructor I can tell you aviation english is very different, and engages a different part of the brain (supposedly). I’ve heard of pilots who don’t stutter only when they speak into a headset. Obviously a case by case basis, it never hurts to try!
I think the workouts are essential.
Im hoping my fitness will help in getting a future part 135 job as im 59 and starting this journey, crazy huh.

One thing I've noticed in most of your videos, your trips are mostly to the same places: California, a few Seattle, a couple Hawaii. Do you ever fly the longer routes to the east coast or midwest? Or do Phoenix based pilots only stay within a certain region?
This 54 year old airplane enthusiast would be like a kid in a candy candy store if I could ride in a 737 jump seat!! Lol. Also I know what you mean about tai dishes needing a little more protein. My local place skimps too.

I've done Seattle to Vegas many times and Seattle to Phoenix a couple....and back of course. Idk what's longer.....I feel Seattle to phoenix or phoenix Seattle is longer....tho usually if were coming into vegas low over the dessert mountains my gut will tell me Vegas is longer from all the up and down motion
I just went on a spirit airlines flight to Vegas yesterday, it was incredible! For the first time ever in my life. My dream has always been to fly an airplane. Yet! It came true! Hopefully, I hope to pilot an airbus a320 someday.
