Love the ATC overlay. It gives a good context to the video. As a frequent SWA flyer and certified ‘wing it’, I love learning all the different aspects that you provide. Hope to fly with you one day!
Southwest has been my fav airline for many years to and from Denver. Sorry to hear about the change from open seating, I've loved that and two bags fly free policy, but change is inevitable I guess. It's cool to see flying SW from the Pilot's seat. I have often been impressed with the flying skill of SW pilots in bumpy weather in/out of DIA, flying into Midway, etc. Thanks for your videos Ern!
Overlays with ATC are great. Wish had this when doing my Instrument rating, but will come in handy when do my commercial checkride next month! Thanks for all the time you put into these videos.
Particularly like the new video's with the ATC, including enroute and arrival charts. Being a retired pilot, it brings back fond memories. Keep up the great work and professionalism !
I Love the new ATC overlay Capt Ern. As a guy that is in the midst of getting current again in preparation of returning to the industry after a 16 year ‘start my own business/family’ hiatus, this video is both informative and entertaining . I hope to fly with you at SWA one day. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. It really does help to see the current 121 pace, camaraderie, and professionalism .
You have to love the approach into Denver. I live in Colorado and have flown into DIA many many times, riding those turbulent mountain waves all the way to the runway. If you are not a fan of turbulence, fly into and out of Denver before noon. Great video BigErn, nice add-on graphics and ATC.
Big Ern I have been watching airline videos for quite a while and this is the best explanation of how you go from one point to another through visuals. As a former educator your messages are great for young people. Thank you.
Great video I’m dispatcher at Southwest and came from ASA/XJT Started at ASA April 2000 overtime name change to XJT Left and started at Southwest June 1, 2015
Enjoying the videos BigErn. For many years I had a friend who was a captain with SWA, and he would often tell me of his adventures while flying. He’s retired, a couple years now, and thru you I get to see what he did on a regular basis. In a way, you guys kinda sound and resemble each other.
Like the overlays, arrivals, departures of (equipment visuals) and ATC audio. Keep up the awesome content and many safe flights. A hui hou Captain (looking forward to many more 808 content from you like always) 🤙🤙🤙
Been watching your videos for a couple months now, and especially enjoyed this one - back in July we flew into Burbank on our way to the Redwoods and flew into Denver on our way back home. Love seeing what you pilots do! Keep up the good work!
Once again, great video Big Ern!! And nice sharing Brad’s story on his road to Southwest. I almost forgot to add the addition of the graphics and ATC are fantastic. Love it!! ✈️
Looking back at my career as a maritime captain on board tugs. if it wasn’t for having a mentor encouraging me to get my license I may have never pursued my dreams. I sense have retired and I am still receiving many thanks and phone calls for helping the younger generation pursue their dreams. It’s a great feeling knowing you helped someone else accomplish there’s.
I really can't add anymore than what everyone is saying other than I loved your videos before now they're just Incredible!! I sorta had a tough road the becoming an A/P i didn't go to A/P school but i got my license through practical training and sponsored testing and i retired after 32+ wonderful years!!
Ron, a huge shout out to you, sir; excellent job with the act audio and the videos you are making for Bigern. The videos are top-of-the-line. Maybe Big Ern will take you on a Hawaii trip, lol, and film the trip. Keep up the excellent videos
make it better the attitude we all need.............flew 172s in college just try now to support the channels that call out the lack of training or as i say...ongoing training and mentoring that should happen at local small airports ..the backbone of the industry.......the guys that start at local airports need the mentoring.......sorry to say that the NTSB AND FAA have not seen that vision.......as yet....you good guys flying high to make it happen by example ps. The BUR approaches were traditionally always brought in north of the field, over PMD. It's still odd for me to see airliners flying near Mount Lee (the Hollywood Sign area), then making that right turn to final.
Love your videos and life tips, just flew twice on Sat and I always look to see if I am going top get Big Ern!!! My sun goes to ASU in the ROTC program Freshman year and he want to fly for the Marines. I told him to watch your one video where you tell your story, it was awesome.
Enjoying all the graphics ie; All the planes in the air, routing, waypoints, etc + ATC comms - Shoutout to the Video Editor 👍😎

Burbank has always been a favorite arrival and departure point. No jet bridges, just old-fashioned air stairs. Love it.
Love the inclusion of the radios and chart overlay 👌
The ATC comms and routing graphics is a great way to follow along and actual lean about the "highways in the skies" part of commercial aviation
