      Imagine the amount of noise the blades would make(since it has to be a helicopter type setup), shitty fuel efficiency given the altitude, low cargo capacity and the fact that they will damage anything in vicinity during landing/takeoff.

    I'm 65 years old. I remember watching the "space race" from Mercury through all the Apollo missions, and on to the shuttle. It was a great time to be alive. This, along with the Crew Dragon flight, feels the same. Well done Spacex. You ARE the future and I hope it's a great one.

      Totally concur. I'm 61, born just after Sputnik I went up, so I arrived into the "space race" as well. Those adventures were magical times, and to see SpaceX taking the big steps towards the Space Station, the Moon, and eventually Mars and beyond, just gives me that ol' feeling again.

    SN5 did the landing legs properly. SN10 probably could have handled the hard landing if half of the legs didn't fail to lock into place.

      @@DJlegionuk nothing is manual anymore. Besides, it would never work if a human had to try to balance it on top of that one engine. Only the computer can know which RCS thrusters to use and how much to use. They program the destination and it navigates through the way points.

      Yeah absolutely! If NASA or Boeing were doing this, they'd have a custom logo and four hours of speeches... but SpaceX is run by engineers who just care about getting sh#t done.

      @@rexxroyce9700 Good question. #1, it's big. #2, it's made of stainless steel, as opposed to carbon fiber or aluminum (sounds like old tech, but some challenges needed to be solved). #3, the Raptor engine is new tech and the first working full-flow staged combustion cycle engine ever built. #4 the method of development - rapid prototyping - is not really done for big vehicles, especially by the likes of NASA or Boeing who prefer big upfront planning and design before anything gets built. #5 the engine is off-center and they gimbaled it to compensate, pretty impressive. #6 they landed it (maybe boring after so many Falcon 9 landings, but still something pretty much only SpaceX can do).
      There are probably other things, but those are what come to mind.

      @@rexxroyce9700 And in case you or someone is not familiar with the rocket this is just part of the upper stage of the rocket. (It's missing the nosecone and the first stage) This one in the video is around 9 meters in diameter and 30 meters high. Google "Starship" to see the whole thing. The full rocket is 120m, it will also have a lot more engines.
