“SOYA Protein, Dextrose, Sodium Triphosphate, Raising Agent: Potassium Carbonate; Preservative: Sodium SULPHITE Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Ascorbate, Nitrite…” Mmmmm just like no one used to make.
“Gravy over bread”, my mam called it! My Auntie Ursula made some Oxo in cups for her and nanna back in the 70s - went and pegged some laundry out on the line - nanna came out and saw what she took to be two cups of tea and proceeded to put sugar (Saxins, in her case - a proprietary brand of saccharine tablets that came in a blue container about the size of a tube used for urine samples) and milk in them - Auntie Ursula came back in and asked “What happened to my Oxo?”. You don’t put gravy over chips, anyway!
@@nickreestearsofaclown4661 did anyone get caught with your mum serving beefy beans it was just a can of beans with an Oxo cube added and it was delicious

Stock cubes (Oxo or Bovril) in hot water, with loads of black pepper, is till a treat for me. In the "olden days" we used to make it with the green water from cans of processed peas. We used to dip bread into mugs of it to bulk it out a bit.
89 days thats excellent well done. I used to drink often but i gave up due to hating the hangovers. If i have a drink its once ie Christmas party but no other times.
I know Gaz is reviewing this food for us to watch and judge but why on earth would anyone buy this. All supermarkets do decent sausages, Lidl do a banging sausage, 8 for £3.30, bag of spuds £1.40,some instant gravy and job done and infinitely better and cheaper than this. With some frozen peas 4 meals for just over a fiver. Cheers for the video Gaz, all the best.
Always made a flask of oxo when out in the cold like watching rallying in the forests, scrambling or fishing (a dab of white pepper was another level). A must have after a swim at the swimming baths 👍
Hey Gaz, if you get in touch with youtube to verify your channel, you'll get a tick after your channel name. They dont automatically do it when you hit 100k, you have to speak to them👍😎
Congratulations Gareth, you are looking well too! Was watching one of your older videos the other day and you can definitely see the difference in you, well done! When you said about the oxo it reminded me that my Dad, God rest him, used to do that! Something else he did was if we had a tin of marrowfat peas with our dinner, he would drain the hot "gravy" from cooking the peas into a mug, good crack of black pepper and drink it like a "soup" ... it was actually really tasty! 😄
Well done Gareth, 89 days off the drink, I've been off the drink and the fags for over 10 years and feel much better for it. I don't fancy this sausage chips and gravy, processed rubbish. I'm sure you could buy better sausages, frozen chips and Mayflower gravy and create the same for less and it would be tastier, healthier and cost much less per portion. 😊
Well done Gaz on your 89 days. That is a brilliant achievement. I thought the chips looked lovely (I do love crinkle chips) so just shows what I know, lol. Thanks for the video.
Cold weather calls for a Bovril cube in a mug filled with hot water and a good sprinkling of white pepper, of course you can do the same with oxo or marmite, but my favourite is bovril.
Hello Gareth 👋 how are you and your family keeping? Well done for being of drink for so long , the dinner you just tried looks terrible thankyou for doing it to show us what its like . Sending you all love and prayers 🙏 God bless you all.
That story round about the 6:39 mark onwards about the gravy tasting salty, like an oxo cube and being tasteless, whilst hearing you drink oxo cubes in hot water, was pretty funny.
Hiya Gareth, another interesting video. The price of these Air-Fryer Meals we know feed a family on a budget , it'll will do the job, and no one expects them to be 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Good portion of the crinkle cut chips, why crinkle cut?? Thought the sausages shown on the packet looked, well rough 🤢🤮, but after cooking they passed muster. Onions and baked beans. I'll take it. Approaching the weekend and mixed weather forecast. Salad or the last BBQ of the summertime 🤔☔🌈☀️. Magnificent effort so far mate, looking good. Allan&Family
A family of starlings, perhaps. No chance this is feeding a family on a budget though, it's barely feeding 1 person for the same price you COULD feed a family for.
Yes well done I've been sober 4years in may and I used to drink strait vodka etc and I feel so much healthier keep up good work mate will be hard but I've every faith in you 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Gareth, congrats Gareth, you scored the goal you had the determination to do it & you done it 🤗 well done keep up the good work ………I would have been the same as you didn’t like the look of the gravy but the chippies & sausage looked quite nice thanks for trying & sharing your review all the best Lin 👍🙂
I’ve always mixed two types of bouillon cubes together, my preference is to use one meat based cube and one vegetable cube and rather than the oxo variety try the Knorr or Bovril brands, they do take a bit longer to dissolve but I think they aren’t as salty and pack more flavour as well ( they also come in more flavour variants eg pork or ham or or fish flavours).
Great review Gaz good on you 89 days is a nice number it will soon, be 100 and you could put a oxo cube in that gravy and some pepper, would most probably improve it 👍👍
At least we know to make our own gravy Good sausages are a must, and the chips looked ok. I live within walking distance of Farmfoods so i might give this one a try.
8 sausages - £2.25 McCain oven chips 900g - £2.00 Beef Oxo (24) £3.10 or Gravy granules 300g £1.20 If you buy 2 bags of chips, you can make 4 of those meals for £7.45 and still have plenty of Oxo cubes or gravy granules left over. If you replace the oven chips with freshly chipped potatoes, it will work out at about £3.00 for 4 servings with potatoes and gravy granules left over. I know which one I'd go for!

89 days Gareth ! hope you're proud, well done. Yes that gravy didn't look good at all, thin, watery no doubt very salty. It just looked like an oxo cube mixed with hot water. 🤑

Yes, an early grave in a bag. The ingredients in processed foods are criminal. Never touch it, one ingredient, whole foods only.

Well done Gareth on the lack of drink and the encouragement you have given to others to give up as well, you certainly deserve a medal for that 👏👏💕

This is exactly the same as what I think when I see this. It would be good if he could show this as so people can comapre the two.
I certainly wouldn't. Also looks a lot of chips for only two sausages.
I wouldn’t touch this with a bargepole but paying more for convenience is nothing new. It's just where ever you happen to draw the line.
