Not just verging on criminal - they actually crossed that threshold some while ago. However, as Aaron said, the government is not being held to account for all the actions that they bulldoze through and we have the right wing, Tory-centric media to thank for that. Sadly (and that is a highly understated word), we will continue to have this elitist capitalism-is-god mentality blighting our lives all the time we have the current government ‘in power’.
The sooner we have an electoral system that is worthy of the name, the better - the current ages-old FPTP template does nothing to dispel the continuing myth that the inevitable binary two party race is ‘normal’. FPTP is a LONG way past its use-by date and the state of the nation will not improve until it changes.

Watch the video - again ,the nurse started speaking about the Tory mistakes BUT she went back 15 years which meant some of her rant overlapped into Gordon Browns patch - pre Tory ! .She also never mentioned the money the strikers are asking for is 35% which all the Parties ,including Labour & the Lib/dems said is way too much and cannot be done ,the part of the government that decides the pay rise level have said 6 % and that is why the strikers & employers have not got together since the Spring . But through the ages governments have always been wary for the common sense idea that if wages are increased ,a lot of other unions will be around with their cap held out . This is the kind of strikes that wrecked the Steelworks and the car manufacturers ,there was 3 different unions in our steelworks in the early 70s and non of them were ever happy . At Keetons steelworks and steel stockholders in Sheffield they were on strike nearly 8 years ,till the company folded - think about it ! .

Government and employers have huge power over employees -- taxation, H&S, working time directives, sick pay, parental leave, as well as wage levels -- yet you criticise employees for wielding the only means they have to resist being exploited! 😢

@@taffyterrier Look at the funding compared to other countries. Check out figures from the ONS (Government accepted figures) rather than right wing media or Government spin.
Now they are able to provide better care because they value their healthcare providers rather than treating the NHS as a Political Football.
From "the Kings Fund": (other sources available)
"The UK has below-average health spending per person compared to peer countries. Health spending as a share of GDP (gross domestic product) was just below average in 2019 but rose to just above average in 2020 (the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, which of course had a significant impact on the UK’s economic performance and spending on health services). The UK lags behind other countries in its capital investment, and has substantially fewer key physical resources than many of its peers, including CT and MRI scanners and hospital beds. The UK has strikingly low levels of key clinical staff, including doctors and nurses, and is heavily reliant on foreign-trained staff. Remuneration for some clinical staff groups also appears to be less competitive in the UK than in peer countries".
The problem is exacerbated by years of underfunding - the chickens now coming home to roost!
Any organisation can be seen as a bottomless pit if it has been badly funded for years and then needs huge investment to get back to an even keel.
Try listening to the whole clip and see how private industry, that receives huge subsidies, has been allowed to rip us off.
Productivity in the UK is poor. A lot of that due to the fact that so many are in ill health - due to, hey guess what - the inability to get medical treatment.
Other countries view health as a benefit. A healthy population is a productive nation.
Good luck being able to afford healthcare if it goes private. 250,000 people go bankrupt each year in the USA because of medical expenses as an example

I had to take myself to A&E the other week. And for me to go to the hospital is normally a no no for me, as I’ve got a phobia of hospital. I got to the A&E about 9:45 on the Wednesday evening. Eventually got released from there around 2:30 on Thursday afternoon. Not once did I complain about the wait or care that I received from the staff that were on duty. They were running around ragged, because they were understaffed and they were doing their best to treat all the patients there. I take my hat off to them all

And we only get back 1/3 of all the taxes we pay in Scotland and have to pay to export renewable energy we generate to England, we seen nothing of the billions stolen from the North Sea gas and oil fields in Scottish territorial waters either. Despite all the teft by England of Scotland's wealth we still have the best public services in the Union, spendinf £1200 perhead the England does. And yer Scotland not only never exceeds it's national budget and even returns money to the English treasury in Lond every year.
