Really good explaination! I really like that train and rail track analogy while stating that we all come from the same base and are not so different after all! This makes me think that when all of us were embryos we used to have both precursors of uterus and vagina (Müllerian ducts) and epidiymis, vas deferens and seminal vescicles (Wolffian ducts). Testosterone and anti-Müllerian hormones play a role in their development and/or regression I really wish that many people knew that but sex ed doesn't teach it
As a scientist I'm always interested to hear things outside my experiences with chemistry explained in easy to understand terms, at least as a introduction. I find this very comprehensible. On the very basic level I always understood that males were an alteration from the default female form, thus making the story of Adam's rib backwards in its telling.
Is it possible for an intersex person to have a body that is a complete fusion of a conventionally male and female body, to the point where they also have both male and female features and genitalia that are fully developed and functional? Is it the rarest form of intersex?
@AceOfHearts it's a fact, go ahead and look it up, you can't have fully developed male and female reproductive organs together in the same body. There are some intersex conditions that are complex however everyone has a genetic sex of male or female. Look it up. I have studied intersex conditions. But please explain why you think I'm a moron for sharing factually verifiable information.
I stumbled on this but I'm glad I did. I obviously had to go back & watch the 1st episode but I'm glad I did. So, I'm adopted, but by maternal grandparents. I knew my biological mother but not father. I met him after I became an adult. After a few years, I got married & pregnant & asked my father about his family's history since it's medically important with pregnancies/infants. I found out that most of the women on his side ended up with breast cancer but also that his urethra didn't finish connecting at the end. After he told me that, I started to wonder if it was hereditary b/c I don't pee. Like 1x a day & I have to strain to do so. (I probably strain more for "#1" than I do for 💩.) I mentioned this to my Dr who said I probably need my urethra stretched. Now, I still don't know if it is/was hereditary but it caused me to mention my bladder issue to a Dr.... Not that I followed through. The thought of a balloon being slid up there & then blown up, nope.... I've had catheters before, if it didn't stretch then, oh well - that's a problem for future Crystal. Present Crystal won't do it. Lol. My father never mentioned a name for it though. He just described it (very awkward conversation to have with any dad, but especially for me since I hadn't even known my dad very long). But now I know what it's called & why it's caused. @@shirleya-z794 no but like if they are intersex but they identity as transgender that's understandable but if they Identify as both transgender and non binary which means that you don't identify as male or female but your transgender. It doesn't make sense
@@Interlude.idle26 who cares, how you identify doesn't change your biologic reality. It doesn't make sense to identify as anything other than what you are but people still do it... I don't think non-binary is the same as trans anyway. Trans is people who identify as the opposite sex. Non-binary is not the same it just means you don't identify as entirely male or entirely female, plus for an intersex person who physically posesses attributes of both sexes, being non-binary is definitely not-trans it is their actualy physical reality.

Thank you, and, not sure what it is that you mean? In my book they are distinct concepts. Not sure if this is what you are referring to, but I think that the idea of seeking a "bodily reason" to explain being transgender (for example a brain difference) is dangerous when we look at histories of eugenics, and does a disservice to what people born with physical, persecuted genital variations are put through.
i just had a dna whole genome sequencing....found out i have a y chromosome (or at least a boat load of genes that usuallyonly exist on a y chromosome), but also no SRY gene. i always knew i was intersexxy ;) but now i am on the path to understanding my particular variation. i would love to converse with you and maybe do a series together investigating the findings. if this idea intrigues you, please dm me. thanks for being awesome.

no, it is not possible. All intersex people are genetically male or female. Hermaphrodites do not exist.

intersex people can identify however they want, just like everyone else.
