I would love to send you Mundhiri Sweets, Athirasam, Dry Fruits Laddu, and Murukku (these are my all time favorites)! Though I have to check if they still make these post Deepavali
The name on the box is "palakaarapetty" written in tamil.. பலகாரம் (snacks) +பெட்டி(box) = பலகாரப்பெட்டி
Bro I can give my soul for getting one good athirasam . but its tuff to get good one ...
We want you to come here to tamilnadu guys. You guys had the tip of tip of iceberg and i'm glad you liked them.
I am living in u.k for higher studies but i am from Tamil Nadu, i missed those sweets and snacks soo much. many of my friends who celebrates diwali share those food with us in tamil nadu same like we give biriyani in ramadan to them. if you really want to see that how many different religious people living like brothers and sisters, you can only see it in southern india states like tamil nadu and kerala, which is the unique thing of south india.
Glad that you guys liked it. This is just a sample….There are lots of snacks and sweets from every corner of TN. Of course every state has their own flavors which is also good
Can you send me the patreon link of movie Charlie
Seeing d Thamizh name ' பலகாரப் பெட்டி' (palakaarapetti) makes me so so so happy 👌👍💛🥰😃
but it is too formal right?we would say norukku theeni lol
And that day, Rick became Mama and korbin became Macha !!
Love from Tamilnadu.
Spell machan as machan not macha
In Thamizh Nadu without adhirasam no Deepavali nd celebration. Deepavali means oil bath, Murukku, Adhirasam nd crackers, this things blend with our culture ❤🧡👍
Yeah, they missed murukku, munthiri kothu, susiyam😂😂😂
I'm from Kerala and I absolutely love adhirasam. My mom's friend from tamilnadu always brings it when they visit us and i love it so much. I always look forward to her visit cuz I know she'll bring adhirasam 😂 she knows I'm the only one in my family that love sweets.
Oil bath 😮🌚
Agree! Somebody send them kai murukku and adhirasam
So they did taste adhirasam!! 16:32
Rick looks a million times cute, innocent and pure with those spectacles on!
I like how Korbin who loves Violent and Gory movies can't stand with spicy foods😂😂
I got excited as soon as I saw the video title. I'm SO glad you've tried the snacks from my native land. Hope you guys liked them :) Looking forward to seeing you guys in "vaetti sattai" attire for the next year's Deepavali!
I'm so glad that you guys like these Tamizh snacks. The holiday season always makes me miss home, especially the food. I'm living vicariously through your joy. 😊
Eventhough Korbin had issues with pepper and stuff he still went on with it. I enjoyed that. Imagine if it was Jaby, he would be whining, complaining crying about it and probably would've stopped half way and Achara continued.
Jaby is a crybaby
Achara is a champ
Jaby is an annoying moron! Achara must be an angel to put up with him! 😂😂
For halwa, mildly heat it to get the right consistency as it will get cold and some of it will form as a crumbly texture.
Suggestion: Warm up the Halwa in microwave for 15-30 seconds and eat it warm. 🤤
Also, it’s the type of Banana (Nendrankai) that is used in making of the chips which gives that unique taste compared to Banana Chips that you find in stores in the US (Walmart/Target)
Oombu
24:51 i love how stephanie came back for more 😭
I ordered the same package from Texas, and you are not wrong. It's authentic and shipped fresh from India. It's fresher than the Indian snacks you get in the US with tons of preservatives.
What’s the brand name and where to get these
💯true
Yeah it is.. but our தீபாவளி பலகாரம் "முறுக்கு" " அதிரசம் "..💥
Korbin, thats why there is sweets to eat after savouries 😂
Palagaram - pal(many), agaram (eatables) ( sweets and savouries) is an array of sweet and savoury snacks both hot and cold in tamil cuisine. And they play a big part in tamil culture. For every festivities be it diwali pongal marriages these would be definitely made and eaten and stored by the literal 25 ltr tins.. These recipes are made to last for a long time hence the freshness.
‘Pala’ ‘garam’ translates to pala = many and ‘agaram’ = foods. Not garam/ karam = savouries. So it can be both sweet and savoury. The two ‘a’ sounds blend to form a compound word.
@@utbe2002 tq will change it
Literal meaning of Pala is many, but in this context pala means 'special'. If you spread 'many' of the regular foods on a plate for example rice with accompaniments, it will not be 'pala'. By the way it is not Agaram. H not g say it the correct way : Ahaaram (food) Palaharam = special food.
@@johnutube5651 in tamil it's agaram there's no sound of ha, ha is sanskritised
@@salempasangasp Well, there is no 'ga' if that is the case. Tamil has 'ka' only. 'ha' is there in list of alphabets, which is apparantly loaned ஹா. Also Ahaaram is a loaned word as well, original tamil word is Unavu
Tamil Nadu, Tamil culture, Tamil movies and songs, Tamil food and cuisine are all lovely 🥰
When you have an Indian / South Indian sweet, have a savory snack after. It will make you feel the exact taste of the next sweet that you will have. I totally understand about all the gooey, not-so-colorful thing about the snacks. But they are original, vegetarian, eggless, and have been the same for centuries. We love them for the same reason :) When you feel the spiciness of the savory snack, have some sweet that will help a lot followed by water. :) . I had a nice time watching this video :)
Athirasam round brown is healthy - because it is made of jaggery( natural sweet)
I am glad you liked the banana chips - it's from my hometown, and I order from oorla and have them delivered to Alberta quite often. The thirunelveli halwa is my another favorite - I used to eat them a lot during my college days
@25:43 welcome to India - I loved it when u said in that tone
Tirunelveli iruttukadai Halva if that is what you tried, I usually warm it up in a microwave for secs and eat it with a spoon. It goes straight to your throat.
Watching this as a Tamilian, God, you guys are making me feel so nostalgic. I found an Indian store here in this part of Europe, but no Tamilian sweets. Mysorepak is one of my most favorite desserts ever, but the best one is from Shri Krishna Sweets in Chennai. Nothing else comes close. Ever since I can remember, every time someone I know is going to Chennai, I always ask them to bring me a box. Adhirsam reminds me of my grandparents. They would always bring a bunch of snacks when they would visit, and since adhirsam was my grandpa’s favorite, that’s what he always brought. It always makes me think of them.
Korbin stuffing back the ones that he doesn’t like makes me go lol. 🤣🤣
The word on the card is Palagarapetty means Snack box. ❤😂
Diwali - North India
Deepavali - South India
Kali Puja-East India
*Deepavali* a Sanskrit word. From ancient time Souths r predominantly Shiva + ... followers Not Vaishnav. *All 5 Pancha Bootha Shiva Sthal r in Tamilzhnadu* . As per vaishnav fantasy Diwali villan is a Shiva devotee ?, Ramayan villan also a Shiva devotee? nd more ... History was with bloody fight *On* Shiva *by* Vaishnav. Deepa-vali in Sanskrit means *series r line r sequence of lamps* Even now Tamilzh town/village r there with no recognition r celebration of Deepavali. Pongal is true Tamilzh Festival. Eshwar, Parvati, Ganesh, Muruga r considered *Tamilzh divinities*
Diwali / Deepavali / Festival of Lights - 🇮🇳Bharat🇮🇳
pollution and Opressive religious practices -Liberal India
In short-
North India - noise and pollution
South India - light and beauty.
I remember Korbin dying from eating the carrot which was hot 🤣🤣🤣 i am surprised how well he took the banana chip and all the other peppery stuff haha
They missed Thirunelveli halwa, Ooty varukki, maccaroni, and manapparai murukku and more. But, it's alright. You can try them when you visit south india.
Guys one small tip. Don't taste sweets like that. You took a pinch of halwa and paalkova for tasting. Take pea sized pieces at least. 😅
I'm from ooty, evn chocolate famous in ooty.
Diwali starts with Oil Bath and Idly with Karikozhambu 😋
Glad that you guys loved it 😅🥰
And it's great that Palagaram, made sure that our Native stuffs travels all over the world 🤝🤝
I think guys "WE INDIANS NEED TO START OUR SOUTH INDIAN BAKERY THERE"
Super bro some how I feel very happy because you tried your best to explore more Tamil stuff like songs , places , culture , now food interview with AR and Prabhudeva wow love you Bros
Do check out Baradwaj Rangan's 2023 roundtable with Tamil directors - *"Galatta Plus Mega Tamil Roundtable 2023 | Subtitled | Mani Ratnam | Vetrimaaran | Maari Selvaraj"*
Korbin is me when tearing the package using the mouth and throwing all the waste papers around....
Rick is me searching for glasses and using them for reading and getting rid of it by the end of reading...its a process
Korbin was collapsed to ate the spicy snacks 😅😂
Love Korbin reaction 😂❤❤ he dies but loves it too.. thats love
I also prefer savory over sweets! Banana Chips are my favorite! ❤
Eat the sweets when things get too spicy. That is why we make them so sweet. 🤦🏽♀️
I like korbin expression 😅.. 😅
🥵😅
These snacks 😋 in tamilnadu we eat everyday..
Adhu rick da punda

I really liked the thank you babe...thats good.. appreciate her
14:34 Rick is like thank god this is not gooi thing this time 😂
I’m living in Germany now and am three months pregnant. After seeing this video review, I’m immediately craving to eat everything in the box and going to place an order right away!!
I’m originally from Coimbatore and my mom is from Nagercoil so I’m particularly excited to taste the Mysurpak and the peppery, banana chips. Thank you Korbin and Rick❤❤
You should do it . Take care and enjoy the journey
@@aruljothikamalbabu563thank you!
Love from Tamilnadu ❤️🥳🎉
lol.. Madurai is unofficial renamed as Madhuri from today, by Rick!
Trick is to eat sweet when it’s too spicy! 🙈 simple!
I’ve missed your food videos guys😢 hopefully I’ll get more
Indian knows pepper is black gold ....😅
Their craving for gold extends to black gold too .
Nothing like Nagercoil/Kanyakumari chips
What if some desi kid refuses to eat his meal and says "mom I don't like its TEXTURE "😂😂😂
😂😂
Try some non indian new food to understand wat he means by that. That will also help u grow a functional brain
My son doesn't eat pongal or rava upma because of texture.
@@PriyaK-cu1fz so Indian food is inferior??
@@aruljothikamalbabu563 ....and
Look for the reaction of rick while eating halwa😂😂❤
Korbin making all sorts of sounds after having savouries 😅😂Sweets are in front of you Korbin .Have some to recover 😅
You could've had any of the sweets lying in front of you to balance the spiciness rather than screaming for water & it would've been absolutely fine.😐
I normally eat banana chips for some days per week when I add this to my own favourite meals to eat for either lunch or dinner depending on my food choices. I normally eat banana chips whenever I eat plain rice and my favourite Indian curries: daal (parappu - tamil), palak paneer curry. I also eat banana chips whenever I eat Chicken Kottu Roti (Sri Lankan food)
Adhirasam ,ribbon pakkoda and white murukku are my favorites. Also, irutukadai halwa❤
Thanks for mentioning in the brackets Tamil👍
21:47
Dad of Indiana Jones and Chewvacca............🎇🎇🎇
Korbin &Rick ,these are wonderful sweets and savouries but the reason they are together is to balance the flavours out..when Korbin's tongue &mouth start burning from the chilli, pepper and spices you take a piece of sweet to even out the sting...although they can be quite spicy😅Nice tasting session ,next time have tea, coffee, lime juice with ice with these snacks & sweets.Great snack sweet box- to the kind person who send these to you dears. Also Korbin drink milk(cold) for anything you want to taste that's spicy😅🎉 Korbin😍 these banana chips are great but the freshly fried chips from Kerala are the best 👌 ❤Rick you are a champion for trying everything with so much care and even relishing them the right way🙏😍
You can come to tirunelveli and have some 50gms of Hot Halwa in Banana Leaf in Tirunelveli Irutta Kadai Halwa shop You will feel rest of the other sweets nothing infront of Halwa.
The winner is Coimbatore, I am proud of my City,. Its GHEE MYSORE PAK... WELCOME TO TAMILNADU !!
മലയാളീസ് ഉണ്ടങ്കിൽ ഇവിടെ come on ❤❤
The savoury snacks are excellent accompaniment for drinks
Yes.. my real favourite in Canada.. my mom sent me .. and I loved it.. I stopped missing my fresh sweets
Some people celbrate deepawali insouth india as return back of ancestors who came to see us.. little bit equal to halloween
Wonderful combo! I would love to have that pack.
Reason for packed in a cover to retain the freshness and actual real taste of the product. Otherwise, the product will start fermented
Korbin would probably die if he tried anything nonveg from tamilnadu
Our sweet cupid reactions ....got diwali lights up in all the boxes.....
Taste of Tamilnadu ❤
Nagercoil banana chips🥰
We love you guys a lot too much❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@21:27 I am HALLUCINATING 🤣🤣🤣
okay but i like their packaging that cute little tins so cute
Because I am from Mysore, I would have tried all of them once every six months. I became enraged, walked to the kitchen, and began eating all of them at once. So upsetting that you're keeping an eye on such a delicacy for my stomach.
Rick, that's a cool mug, I want it
😂😂..looks like Korbin is trying to kill himself.. Shud have tried the savory first and then the sweets..
Hi from Sattur. Try, adding any severies directly in the chai and drink the taste of it.
Try Maharatrian Diwali snacks ❤❤
Halwa needs to be eaten warm and also the - srivilliputhur palkova. There would drastic difference in both texture and taste. Of course eventually whether you like it or not is your personal preference. Also u need to use a spoon to eat.
Milagu = pepper...i was showing my hands in between with an awful bgm donttttttt...u ll cough more in the end 😂
When it's 🔥 just have some Paalkova (Milk Sweet) or the Halwa.......both will have ooozing qty of Ghee....
Most of the Indian snacks will stay fresh easily for atleast 30days with minimum packaging.
thirunelveli eruttu kadai hot halwa is taste like.. wowwww
The crunchy crisps n chips go well with hot chai. Sometimes they are extra spicy. Beer or whisky drinkers might enjoy em😂
11:23 only north Indians can understand that 🥲
19:07 what is that?
Lots of love from Tamil Nadu❤
so fun to watch, love it ❤
Tamil Diwali Snack... they even don't celebrate Diwali 😂😂😂
*North Indian Diwali* :
• To celebrate Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya from Lanka
• Dhanteras is observed 2 days before Diwali, when people buy gold/silver stuff.
• The biggest festival for North Indians
• People light clay lamps and decorate their houses with electric lights, flowers and rangolis.
• Fire crackers are burnt by everyone
*South Indian Deepavali* :
•To celebrate the Day when Satyabhama asked Lord Krishna to slay demon Narakasur.
•Occurs one day before North Indian Diwali, also called Naraka Chaturdashi.
• Much less pomp among South Indians
• No such prevalance of Rangolis or lights as much. Instead, houses are cleaned, ovens are cleaned and sweets are prepared.
• Fire crackers are burnt only in selective places
Great 👍 I don't dare to try all this on same video..
One suggestion - there is NO NEED to eat all of them with your hand/finger directly from the packet. Especially palkova, halwa - feel free to put them onto a bowl and dig in with a SPOON!!
Lovely people, from where can I order that box for myself?
Tamil Nadu
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
There are at least 2 more things you should try.
1. Thattai (its like chips made with lentils)
2. Cheedai (this is something that will test the strength of your teeth and the quality of your toothpaste 😜)
Eating these savory, you won't catch cold. 😊
these all healthy snacks mostly made by Jaggery, ghee , rice flour, basin flour, coconut and milk
Halva/Halwa is not an Indian dish btw, eventhough us Indians make it. It was invented by Persians, and halva is one of the most common desserts around the world. It is eaten in Africa, East Europe and throughout Middle East and finally South Asia.
Biryani naan pulao samosa mughlai punjabi cuisine faalooda nothing is indian either
Halwaa is Mughalite dish but no one in Iran eat it today, it's only eaten in India and most of the people only know it as an Indian sweet.
All that savouries are not that much spicy except the last one looks normal but its spice level too high for me. Its called milagu sevu. Name itself says too spicy. Milagu - pepper ( black pepper from south india).
Love from Tamil Nadu ❤
From madurai you guys just had only few sweets and snacks that are famous in tamil Nadu come to tamil Nadu and enjoy the food of South India
