I got the Egzumer Nunu on the ones I got. Threw a 130cm telescopic 27MHz antenna on it and it’s receiving 10 and 11m bands perfectly!

Try IJV 3.13 firmware. It will tx with DSB on 70cm and 2m
This is the best radio out of all the stuff coming out now.
I compared this radio (I have 3!) to my icom ht and this radio left it in the dust.
There are a lot of mods for this that turbo charge it including soldering mini boards to it to increase reception.
You can also hook up a key and do cw. You can also get ft8 and wspr.
Also can be used for GMRS with 4 1/2 watts output.
Spurious harmonics?! Oh no!

Thanks for the video. I bought one of these and it's good for talking on the repeaters as a firdt radio but not much else I think. Rather too much fuss over gimmickery. Just playing devil's advocate, do you think one could jam 4G with this? Not that I would ever want to jam my annoying neighbours' mobile phones!
@@jemussi7842 You cannot do anything else with it, other than listening to other bands.
It transmits everywhere but milliwatts only. It emits a ton of harmonics and even with the proper antenna, it won’t get you too far.
I stayed with egzumer 0.22 I can transmit anywhere but only on fm the thing is though I am only using it as a scanner more then anything
I have the same radio with the upgraded board. Nit sure if it needs software programming. Im in Toronto. Can you help me open the transmit feature. Thanks.
You need a software update. Maybe the egzumer2 ? or try searching, there is a different firmware for yours
Im sure you are aware by now but despite there being a usb c charging connector it doesn't support fast charge only 5v old style charger. Get an old samsung charger etc.
Yes I know, it doesn’t charge from the usb connector.
I will not need a charger tho, I am planning to give this radio to a subscriber for free

I install Egzumer 0.22 and my HT is not receiving HF (18 MHz to 22 MHz), or CB, 10m. It´s receiving FM broadcasting in some frequencies selected. Maybe the ausence of filters in a local area with so much FM comercial radios? I am brazilian here, thanks for the video. Learning a lot about radio. 73!
Hi my friend. Sorry that you are having hard time. When I installed the Egzumer, I had no TX. Completely. So I gave it to my buddy and I don't know what he did. It transmits everywhere now.
Try the Egzumer nunu. It will give you SSB. I will do mine, in a few days to see how it works with this Egzumer Nunu.

There's an extra menu, I think you hold the middle button on the side (the smaller one) when you switch it on. This toggles TX for different bands - use with discretion
I have uvk5, I use egzgumer 0.22 mod, makes it super illegal which is awesome👍
Hello buddy i tried mine with my siro 827 it will only tx on 27mhz on fm not on ssb ..... Also the swr is crazy it was above 5:1 on the meter ...... Did you try it with cb antenna and an swr meter when txing on 27mhz ...... Also did you compare the recieve on it and on a cb using the same antenna ??
@@29fb040 this radio cannot be used as a cb unfortunately.
It only transmits milliwatts.
I don’t know why they did that, because the transistors inside (the finals) are made only for vhf/uhf specifically.
The receive gets better with a cb antenna of course, but you need an external speaker to hear properly what they say.
Not sure why they made it like that.
The uv-k8 can do ssb, but with the exact same issues.
@@ontariocbclub mine reads 10w on the power meter but swr is crazy 5:1...... I also tried putting it through my ldg Pro 1000 antenna tuner but it will not swr and that thing would swr a coat hanger

Not with this radio. This is mostly for receiving. You need a different transmitter

The amount in circulation and fake callsign ( esp silent key callsign being used , shame on them) is getting ridiculous, I thought I was on CB on a Saturday night after a pub crawl , and thanks @ofcom for doing jack as usual , I mean the irony is a foundation license is common sense questions , at least fiddle with these Toys for how they're intended, to get you at least on air , whatever component or mod these are having done , they ain't made for it , if a 400 quid Kenwood isn't , then I rest my case regards the likes of clever guys like you sir I take my cap off because I've not done anything as near in 37 years being licensed
Ofcom are allowing silent key call signs to be re issued. Totally wrong but the RSGB are fine with it. Hobby has gone to shit.
So 8 microwatts? with harmonics in the watts? :D
