Hello. I am a bit confused here. Tadej is almost avoiding chocolade and calls is "bad food" meanwhile Remco is recycling ice cream. Claims it in his video at the very end. ruclips.net/video/gr2zt2UEJBY/видео.htmlsi=wJsrCUIpkQEWw6oe Who is bs us? Or is that what makes Tadej better?
Well, Remco did 7-8h riding. He burned 6-7k kcal. He did 1k kcal of ice cream plus other heavy meals and still ended up in a kcal deficit. Thats the balance TP is talking about. Remco cant eat like that on a 3-4h riding day.
I don’t understand how zone 2 training can actually be done when you’re ingesting tons of carbs. I mean sure, your heart rate can be low-ish but the main argument is about fat metabolism, which will not happen if either a) fat is really scarce, which it is for him, or b) when simple carbs are available, which is qed true also. So he’s really actually not doing z2 during z2?
Think you might be confusing “z2” with “fat burning”. The main goal of z2 training in elite cyclists is improving the efficiency/number of mitochondria in the cells, not to burn fat. Fat loss is achieved with a caloric deficit off the bike when needed. With how intense the racing is they will mostly burn carbs in a race over fat so they don’t need to train fat metabolism. That’d be like fuelling an f1 car with diesel in practice and only putting high octane petrol on race day.
@@bengoodwin83 you may be right, possibly I should revisit the centrality of fat beta oxidation, however, they explicitly talked about how later in a workout when the glycogen is depleted, relative share of fat oxidation becomes greater. You’re 100% wrong though if you thought I meant this were about actual sustained body fat loss. The special thing about z2 and the mitochondria is that they’re actually still capable of using the much much greater energy stock of fatty acids and the semi hypothetical translation of that to the capacity to handle lactate. The analogy to the f1 car is nice, illustrative but also completely faulty, as training should include faster speeds than during the race as well as longer durations. Using "diesel" for a biologically adaptive racecar therefore would likely be a good strategy and akin to generally accepted procedures
@@YShiishening ok I must have misunderstood you. Short answer. They always train with carbs because carbs are the main Source of fuel. From upper z2/tempo and above. 👍. General rule is 30g/hr minimum to 120g/hr depending on intensity. Have a lovely day
For pros riding endurance pace, long rides under Tempo and around Tempo is essential but for amateurs who don't have 25h/week to train and access to recovery, rest, medical and nutritionist is a waste of time, ride hard, recover well, repeat and you will get stronger

Taking nutrition advice from Pocagar is like asking advice about telling the truth from Trump or Johnson. He's totally unique, none of that is going to rub off on us.
Wait eating 200g of carbs per hour is not going to make me win the Tour? I completely agree people should not take advice from top athletes. Different ballpark.
Anything involving a lot of cardio is going to require a lot of sugar. If you eat and drink like Pogacar then you need to train like him in order for it to be effective. 60-120 grans of sugar per hour will not work for the average person but for someone doing extreme amounts of cardio it has to to be done in order to perform at your highest level. People on low carb diets perform like shit when doing cardio regardless of their weight.
Nothing like asking the questions and giving the answers, comical how misleading the click bites are from this video, Tadej admits he goes for 5h 330W rides but wants nothing to do with the bike the day after, that is not the Zone 2 PA and others are so in love with, let's not forget Tadej no longer uses Dr San Millan as a coach because he was the one advocating for low intensity and long, his new coach has a different approach . Another comical fact about how he can go 5h averaging 330 W, most pro cyclist can do that, Triathlets swim 2.5miles, bike 200k, run a full marathon and they too keep 350W average for 5h during bike.
@@ultimatist Well I am the one of those athletes. Check professor Tim Noakes, he will explain it how it happens in more scientific way that you will surely understand.
I am always disgusted by cyclist arm size, cmon. Good that their bikes are made of carbon I doubt that he will lift aluminum bike with bottles on it off the ground. Arm width should be always bigger than your d@ck width.

Their pancreas is surely suffering producing the amounts of insulin to cover all these carbs.
Most of the glucose is absorbed into muscle without the help of insulin during physical activity.
@@bodomatmidnight This does not work without insulin. Many endurance athletes develop diabetes because of carb overloading.
