This is an old story.
Don't be surprised with all the tracks getting shutdown that we get a spike in street racing. People being forced to drive 6+ hours more just to go down a strip.
I'm not encouraging it I just want to bring it to everyone's attention that people will race even if there isn't a track.
Support your local track.
Why are so many tracks getting shutdown near you. Where I live near Cleveland there was a shooting and I believe the owner of the track got hit. They didn't shut it down, but I don't believe there will be any more hot import nights
@@bhyphen8234 local governments tend to zone fields neighboring tracks for residential. Then the track gets slapped around with noise ordinances in 10yrs because of the residents that moved there.
Or "it's for progress." When suburban sprawl for a major city swallows a track that has existed for half a century.

Mud drag racing 4x4 trucks went thru this as well. You used to be able to find races every weekend in the 80s and 90s. Now days folks get caught fn around tearing up public and private land land and construction sites in their jeeps etc. Cause there's no more places to off road and race.

My dad let his uncle borrow his motorcycle and he took off from the cops took the motorcycle back to my dad's apt and left then the cops came up to the door and arrested my dad trying to say he ran from them. It obviously got dismissed due to lack of evidence but was still a close call

When I was about 22, I ran from the cops and made it home safely. They flew past my house a couple of times, but gave up. Never again, but it was awesome getting away with it once.
Got away twice in a day in my busted old Mercedes way back in the day before I had my license hell of an adrenaline rush
You guys are both legends! The only time I ever ran l got caught, and they put a pretty good whooping on me for running. I have however run from them on foot and got away. It’s an exhilarating sensation to say the least.

The cop was going the opposite way and flipped his lights on, the mustang went left and I turned right immediately. Naturally, the cop followed me in his under powered early 80s cop car. I just zig zagged the blocks until I got home, by then they were over a minute behind me. The way he flew past my house back and forth, I knew he really wanted to find me and rip me a new one. Things were different back then, the PD drove cheap junk and their highest tech was a radio that you could easily listen in on, using a scanner. After 911, everything really started to change when the feds decided to drown local police departments in cash, propaganda, high tech and heavy armaments.

I had to do that in 1990, with my modified RX-7. It was the scariest thing ever. Heart was beating 150 beats a minute. I left my car and walked 2 miles home. Jogged to get it the next morning. I was young. 😁😎

Schite, I blew thru 3 sets of cops set up for a speed trap. I guess they did think someone would be clicking by at 130+. I saw the first two as I passed them, a slowed for just a couple of seconds to if they would come after me, they didn't, I got back on the gas, around a bend and over a rise...130 mph, passed two more on the side of the road, they were ready and bang hit the highway as I passed. I said, screw it, I still have a huge jump on then travelling at ~ 180 ft./sec. I then went around another curve and two more troopers hit the pavement. I get going, got down a long straight and then a curve where they lost visual and jumped off at the next exit. I pulled down the service road, circled behind some stores and parked behind a dumpster. A few minutes later, four cop cars get off the highway and stop at the service road light/intersection. They converse for a minute and then they all head in different direction. About 10 minutes later they showed back up at the intersection and proceeded back to the highway.....I waited a few more minutes and then took side streets all the way home...knuck-knuck - knuck... Yeah...Ninja 1000 power baby!

Two speeding tickets in, 3rd one suspends my license.
Driving along & I see a state police cruiser, parked, as I pass it.
Statie pulls out and us now heading my same direction but 3 blocks behind me - but he hasn't lit them up yet, so that's my excuse.
I decide to turn into a rural residential neighborhood and di a few lefts and rights & I still see the un-lit cruiser in my rear view.
I maneuver a few more roads then see a barn garage with open doors and pull in quickly, Jump out and shut the barn doors.
Buddies are laughing but I'm not.
I'm ready to leave the back of the barn & take a bus home.
Sure as shinola the cruiser comes down the road and passes by the barn, not knowing I'm inside.
I wait and pace nervously for 5 minutes the decide to backtrack and go home.

don't know if the cops were necessarily chasing me, but I was going 65 in a 40 and when I passed the cop and looked in my rear view mirror, he busted a u-turn and threw his lights on. I did not hesitate to down shift and took advantage of the three yellow lights that led me to the fwy. best adrenaline rush ever. but now with. family, probably won't do it again lol
It's past the statue of limitations now. I was cruising about 140-145mph on a fairly empty freeway. It was just semis, and an occasional car. I came over a hill that allows you to see a long way off. My headlights lit up the side of a state patrol car. I gambled and went full throttle. I blew past him at about 155. He pulled out and I lost sight of him as I went over and down the next small hill. When I saw him in the mirror he was at least a mile or more back and my speedo was pegged at 160mph but the tach was still climbing. The next exit was 7 miles away, so I kept it floored. I had to been doing 185-190mph because that 7 miles went by quick and I never saw the cop after I went over the last hill. I got off the freeway and onto some small highways and kept moving lol

I hit a cloverleaf exit ramp running from a cop @ night before he cranked up his rollers, took the OFF ramp followed closely by the ON ramp. Parked, shut off my lights & became a black hole on the ramp. He took the exit ramp, passed by the ON ramp, cranked up his lights & blasted off down the highway, looking for the drunk fckr that was me...hahaha. that was back in the '90s...
once flew past a stater doing 98 in the company vehicle.
I was coming back from another state with some parts for a job, high priority get them here yesterday kinda deal.
Except i was on probation and wasnt supposed to leave the state. So my officer had no idea i was in this truck, picking up these parts, and to pull over meant a ticket and a violation and potentially jail time.
But i grew up on these roads so i kicked the next exit 2 miles down, hopped onto the old highway, did 75 down to the next town, and hopped back onto the interstate. Made it 2 miles down to see that stater pull a quick U and go flying back towards the exit i just left.
I once ran from the cops
I was lining up to race this random bmw in my wrx
And we see this random car come up behind us
The bmw took off the nearest exit but the cop was still on me
At the time had that plate flipper n used my dads old Supra plates from the late 90s
I went to a exit that Ik has mountain curves so I somehow got ahead enough to where his lights started to fade out because the road signs said take these curves at 25 mph but I was probably going around 40 ish
I got to a intersection that can either go back to the highway in a straight way for maybe half a mile or continue the curve mountains turn
Being that I’ve been going on them curve roads multiple times when I went to have a chill drive I decided to take that road instead
I rewire my rear lights so when I pull my e brake all the lights in my car shut off except my dashboard n even if I hit my brakes it won’t lit up
My heart was racing through that whole drive because it was pitch black n tbh it’s a miracle I didn’t fly off
I had a buddy in my class that lived near by in a dead end street so I quickly went to his place n hid
Even tho we’re not really that close he let me stay the night n let me put my car in his garage

lol.... back in the day we used to actually pull into strangers driveways, get out, knock on the door and ask for a fictitious name, sorry wrong house! ... just enough time to turn off the car and give the cops time to pass... worked dozens of times. Nowadays, I don't see that working, people are too whistle happy.
A person I knew years back got away from the cops once during daytime. Cop pulled out with his lights behind “him” and “he” took the on-ramp. A car stopped in the middle of the on-ramp in front of the cop which helped a lot. “They” never got caught

This sounded crazy back when I first heard it, but now after I out ran Illinois state troopers in a Hyundai Sonata that had a governor at 135, it doesn't seem all that crazy.
Learned 25 years ago if your going to Run remove License Plates, have a Car cover and if you live near an Airport go hide in there Parking and get the car the next day. If it’s gone they found it so call it in Stolen. Did it and the Cop knew it was me but could not prove it..
Yeah, ‘cause there’s definitely not cameras in airport parking garages that will reveal you were driving it rather than it bring stolen. Great plan! Arrested for felony evasion, filing a false complaint about it being stolen, and attempted commission of insurance fraud. See ya in 5-10 years. 🤦♂️

I got chased by the cops about 100x in my teens some of them chases was 5mph some were 120mph went to jail for a few but her on the reservation you can pretty much out run these cop cars here
I went to the last event for my track, Palm Beach International Raceway. They sold to a high bid industrial buyer who will redevelop the space into warehouses meaning it will never be a track again. The nearest one is 16 hours away. Down to Mexico I go

I'm 16, it's two in the morning, riding home with my friend Al on the back on my Vespa, doing 60 in a 40 going down hill over a freeway overpass with a light at the bottom. Light turns red, one car at the light, run the red, it's a cop.
Dude turns on his lights and pulls out behind me. I already have a major speed advantage on him so I slam on my brakes at the next right and turn unto the neighborhood, make first left after that, another right and park the scooter in a random driveway and run across the street beside someone's house. Chilled there for about 30 minutes then rode home.
I successfully ditched a cop, two up, on a Vespa. Lol

Done this a few times. One time I got too cocky in my 93 TT rx7 nd tried running from a mc cop.....ended up crashing and the car burned to the ground, I went to jail. Good times. I purchased a TT supra with the insurance proceeds.

Reminds me of the time I was passing a semi in my 300c on a two lane road (in mexico) goin like 90 an passed a sheriff sitting on a hill and saw him hit his lights so I floored it took the first turn I saw an the road I took went back to the road I was just speeding on and I ended up behind the sherif that was trying to pull me over because I had caught up to him going through this small town where my friend lived he got behind me an I made sure I was going the exact speed limit and stopping completely he pulled off when I pulled in my friend’s apartment complex
I pulled a similar move on my for wheeler once. Had the cops chasin us and called my brother who was home on my cell phone stuck it up in my helmet (these were flip phone days) tokd him to open the garage door (we had already pulled some slick manuevers at this point and had an opening) we all flew in my driveway straight in the garage i jumped off hit the garage door button, ran upstairs in my riding boots (which is pretty awkward, any riders will know) and out onto the front porch just in time to see that cop that was chasing us fly by on the main road lights on. My brother was like "wtf just happened?" I looked at him and said "mission accomplished little bro😁" man those were the days

I ran from one on New Year’s Eve and reported the truck stolen the next day lol. Made up a story. I ran at 8pm and I said that I haven’t been around the truck since 5pm cause I went to a party and when I came back later in the morning on New Year’s Day, the truck was parked 3 blocks down from my house

I was driving my tuned is350 f sport down the highway I was going about 112 mph late at night, I seen a Tahoe sitting still he turned on his head lights then did a quick turn so I said fuck it I stepped on it and got up to 145 mph that quick, before he even get onto the road by the time he got to the road I seen his red and blue lights on but I was already over 145 mph then I got it up to 160 and took the exit sat in a public store and waited saw him flew pass and took different route home

@@glenndavis341 happens in the early 00s, camera quality if they even had it on their patrol car would suck. Especially trying to read a speeding car. Would just be blurry pixels probably.
Nowadays they use a laser to scan the barcode on your plates and tabs.

I’d be driving to a friends house with a garage.
i had dipped out on a state trooper just 2 years ago, i was going 75-80 in 60 and when i initially saw him he didn’t pull out or turn his lights on, 10 mins later i see someone in my rear view mirror with no lights on speeding up to me, i immediately turned my lights off and got tf out of sight, was doing 145mph in my g37 and took a quick exit and parked my car behind a enterprise rental spot where the employees would park, and got an uber home, came back 4am to get the car and left it in my friends neighborhood for 4 days never had any trouble since then
