Got Damm!!!! We are in June 2022 and I have just bought a set of JCF EVOX 12 and there was two chrates on the top speakers. I am have been promised two new top speakers in Oktober. Had I seen this video for just one week ago… I had bought EV 50 instead😰🤬
Yeah these speakers are just too expensive for them not to come in perfect condition. So please ensure they give you replacement in perfect condition or they give you a massive discount on them.
If I don't get a reply to my email by noon they will be getting a phone call.
I personally prefer conventional speakers. I've tested a few pillars. Practical and quick to set up, for background sound, but not suitable for DJ jobs as the main PA. And RCF ...:-(
Yeah I've owned a few column arrays and sold them because I didn't like them. Point source provides superior sound for sure. Thought I'd give a high end one a try... Just not going good so far. Lol I maybe should have done a pair of nxl24's..
Any update to this? I finally got excited about getting these speakers. This is kinda terrifying
Yeah I've been slacking on making the update video. I was offered replacement speakers or a $400 credit. I took the credit and filled in the dinged spots with a black sharpie. Now you can't tell unless you really look hard.
@@TheAngrySoundTech oh wow. Hopefully you’re happy with the outcome of the choice. But the performance of these speakers you’re happy with ultimately ? Ive been a little torn with these versus the EV Evolve 50M. Portability versus coverage etc.
I've only done 4 gigs with them so far. I'll probably do a follow up review after May 2nd. I'll have a few more DJ gigs with them and an acoustic festival where I'll be mixing 12 different acts in one day. I'll have a good idea on my thoughts after that. But so far I'm happy with them. They seem less feedback prone than some of the other columns I've had. Volume seems good out front while not totally blowing my ears out from the side when I'm DJing. I think the complete wooden construction helps a lot.
True story,
i bought new the complete set of the EV Ekx speakers. The two subs had the exact same issue you had here but little worse. Before walking out of the store I noticed the box was damaged so I decided to open. GC kept them and ordered me new subs. No way was I going to take them damaged at full price. Two weeks later I saw them selling at the floor at a discount.
Question is: was it really UPS/fedex or was it at EV?
I had to send back RCF 705as mk2 subs 4 times. All 4 times I found wood cracks, paint chips, grill was dented and 1 was dead on arrival. I lost faith in RCF. I got my money back. I'm rocking my EV's.

Yeah I don't get it either. It's weird that I would get two that are damaged. Maybe the US distributer was supposed to sell them as B-Stock and didn't? They asked me today if I wanted a discount but didn't come back with an amount.

I ordered brand new A-Stock from my distributor. It didn't seem like they had been repackaged because all the box staples were in place. I've ordered open box before and you can usually tell when an item has been repackaged.
