Mate, I am so grateful to you and your build... it literally made me continue playing Merc (was about to create a new char)... the build feels amazing...
I've been running something very similar, but I put in gas grenade socketed to strip armor for high velocity. It actually shreds armor quickly and the damage boost is noticeable.
in the skill panel, default attack is showing a dps number, while high velocity rounds is showing a per hit number. from what I can tell it gives you dps for ammo types that load multiple rounds by default, and damage per hit for ammo types that load one round by default, since it isn't set up to factor reload speed into its calculation
You can do cast on shock conductivity, just take a lower level support gem to avoid issues with int and there's a support that reduces the amount of energy required for triggering it
I’m going full grenade build, but still use Galvanic Shards as my “bolt” skill, it does a lot of damage and it’s fantastic for clearing trash mobs. Will also add Explosive Bolt later on so I can trigger my grenades👍 good video.
May I ask generally what will people take for perm stats? i.e. Den of Snakes reward for Stun Threshold, Elemental Ailment Threshold and Mana Regen Rate.
Impressive video, Bigdaddy. Looking forward to your next upload from you. I smashed that thumbs up icon on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! Your insights on the crossbow build adjustments were really enlightening. Have you considered how the recent changes to ammunition mechanics might affect overall build diversity in the endgame?
They thanks a lot! I didn't see any new changes for ammo yet but I expect things to change as more players find broken things. I'm just starting to get to endgame now so we will see how things look there soon!
Try Cast when Shock + Conductivity for auto curse enemy and take lightning penetration from node right Flash Storm in passive tree (from Flash Storm to Forces of Nature)
Have you thought about using lightning rod as a trigger for the shards if i read the skills correctly last night, the rod should trigger the chain lightning from galvanic shard...I had to sleep so couldn't test it out.
I've been using it in my second weapon set with a bow and quiver and it is absolutely amazing on bosses, give it a go with a dual string bow if you have one.
Build is quite fun to play. I have a question. You have splinter on High Velocity Rounds, which breaks armor based on % of the physical damage you deal. However, Herald of Thunder (level 6) converts 100% of my bolt's physical dmg to lightning dmg. Does this mean I should turn Herald off when I'm using High Velocity Rounds?
Im using smth similar, but im going more into shock. For AoE clearing galvanic shards is enough and for single target i use shockburst rounds once it gets the shock, feels really good
I leveled with double barrel scattershot high velocity rounds, mega stun flash grenade and light infused piercing galvanic for big groups. It’s way better than trying to force grenades early. Hv tears through bosses and the vuln from flashg melts them mobs. It did fall off around lvl 30 tho and I switched to grenades.
huh, i had the opposite experience. i felt the grenade fall off after 30ish. moreover so that now it's nerfed. i switched to galvanic+chain+primal weapon with herald of thunder. you can primal with lv 1 variant tho. 1 clip is enough to clear out enemies it's insane. tho galvanic is REALLY WEAK when hitting only 1 enemy. it needs to be a group of 3-4 and it shines. usually when it happens i either switch to normal shotgun or HVR. when bossing i use HVR+scatter+long shot+double barrel and just spam HVR. i'm almost at the end of act 3, it felt like a breeze
Galvanic clearing is great! Needed this info for the boss killing part, I can't kill anything that's solo with galvanic shards, not even big bois. I was using rapidfire to kill bosses... The spin up time made getting damage out without taking damage MISERABLE!!! Didn't know conductivity was a thing too! Also I put Pierce instead of attack speed on galvanic and ignore pierce on the passive tree. You're having an easier time than me though by the looks of things so... 🤐
@RUclipsChillZone thanks. Gald its only 11 nodes or something lol. Ive heard granader getting nerf(poision shot or something), so its time to switch lol
thank you for the update. can you pls also update talent tree on site because talent tree in your video and site are different and it's confusing and I don't know which to use
@@Bigdaddytehpwnerereerr Deadeye flat out lets you shoot an extra projectile for your high velocity rounds, among other things. Might be potentially better than either of the two Mercenary ascendancies
I'm starting to think gemling is actually stronger. The support gem limitation hits really hard and the solo dps with this build specifically is miserable. I'm currently not enjoying my act 6 adventure at all. Wave clear is amazing but as soon as there's one target be it a boss or an elite it feels like farting at them loudly would do more damage than the galvanic shards.
been running the gemlite variant of this build, it shreds A3 like nothing. i'm breezing through A3 it felt like totally different game than when i used grenades on A2.

Same, was contemplating to switch char as well :D

Exactly what i did too, throw gas to strip armor, then normal nade for extra damage and high velocity to take advantage of the broken armor
@@gasmaskguy3976 have you got a build link?

They are nerfing gas granade.. Just seen video of other build about the announcement..
@ yeah, they’re still powerful 😂 they nerfed the final explosion damage by 35-38% but they still do plenty of damage.

Quick question, why don't you go to Heavy Ammunition node on the passive tree?
Because it's bad.

The herald dmg is separate from your other attacks so you can leave it on

sadly mobalytics doesnt show what attributes u picked in the passive tree did u go full dex or sometimes int/strength for certain gems?
Just to fit gem req first, then str since I wanna use pure armour bases
how to deal with Mana siphoning? getting rocked.

Do you think armour stacking will be a thing in poe2?
its not possible.

galvanic + chain + herald of thunder + conductivity and swarm clearing becomes non issue for me
How expensive isbto respec lol? I might wanna switch to this build from granade style.. Since its less combo and stuff.
Like 5k gold

The tree on mobalitics should be updated. In general, the planner tree is the correct one
@@Bigdaddytehpwnerereerr ok thx
i trolled and went gemlin over witchhunter and i cant switch anymore so rip. think its possible gemlin might be able to pull of this build?
Oh yea ofc it can. Might even be better? Losing explode is a bit sad but not a deal breaker
Gemling Legionnaire gets access to an ability to double up support gems. Meaning you can stack the more beneficial gems for your skills👍

High v shot is one shot. Crossbow shot is 7 maybe that’s it ?
Lol we ended up making the exact same build tree and all
