Ibn Taymiyya was not the first one indeed. Even Ashari's have categories of tawhid. What scholars mean by Ibn Taymiyya being the first is his understanding saying mushrikeen were muwahhid in rububiyya. He was the first to say this and that's were shaykh Asrar is alluding to in the beginning of this clip.
Allah was the first one to say it. It’s in the Quran.
Asrar Rachid got humbled cus Allah said it before anyone in the Quran.
The mushrikeen clearly believed in Allah but still did Shirk.
Quran 39:3
true devotion is due to God alone. [As for] those who choose other protectors beside Him, saying, ‘We only worship them because they bring us nearer to God,’ God Himself will judge between them regarding their differences. God does not guide any ungrateful liar.
