Suggestion from a long-married husband: Do the bookshelves and do the landscaping. Life will be better in the future if you do.
I was thinking with Winter on the way Bookshelves could be a Dry Shop Project.
I was going to remind him about the bookshelves. Good job! 😊 👍
Sounds like you are married to a demanding woman that puts her 'wants' ahead of the actual needs of the farm. You got to make hay while the sun shines. Bookshelves are an inside job that can be done in the winter and Rebecca is mature enough to understand that. Not ALL marriages are like yours. There is a word for husbands like you but this is a family channel.
Great video Evan. Also, I love the way you edit your videos where you don't show every nail going in like some RUclipsrs do. Your editing is fantastic, keep up the great work!
The best part of this video is the way Rebecca looks at you when your thanking her for helping you. Thats a great wife you got there, cherish her dearly. Great work guys. Sending best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪
Be grateful, Evan. You have a very patient and supportive life partner in Rebekah.
When I have to hammer short nails, I use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold them. Sure saves wear and tear on my thumbs!
Always !!!
I get a small piece of cardboard, make a slit and that's it! Holds the nail and no squashed thumb.
For the next feeder build you can use a utility knife to score the metal along a rib then snap the metal apart. I like you are building things to last and make things easier and quicker in the long run!!! When you have everything built you will have so much time, Rebecca can have a life time supply of book shelves!!!
Those RR ties ain't no joke! Rebecca is the prettiest "implement" ever put on that tractor!😉
Wow! 1k videos! It's been quite a journey. Thanks for taking us along 🎉
It looks great Evan. You an Rebecca have worked very hard. ❤
When you weld the post hole digger, use a piece of strap iron across the top to add strength to your repair
Loved Rebecca's comment that it looks like the "TAJ MAHALL"" of hay feeders, but you guys did a fantastic job on it.
Rebekah cracks me up with her steel toe flip-flops, LOL! You guys are awesome.
Nothing is overbuilt if you intend it to last! Nothing will test the quality of a Farme project better than Farm Animals.
I'm not a farmer Evan, but I think you are doing a FABULOUS job at learning to be one. I think your previous training is showing up here and you are doing things way better than the average farmer.
Five stars for you and sweet Rebecca ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Art & Melissa from Ohio
Put a hims joint on the end of the post hole diger and it won't brake again.
@@daviddobson1113 That would be 'heim' joint on the 'digger' so it won't 'break' again. Are you OK?
I love your "Taj Mahal" projects. You always put the best into everything, and it will benefit you down the road.
Taj Mahal was NOT a compliment!! IT just let him know HE OVER DOES EVERYTHING that envolves FARM !!! I am scared the bookcase will involve moving the fireplace and rebuilding the kitchen. And landscaping around the house. Holy smoke. $1000 shrubbery, $100 flowers, truck loads of expensive topsoil! You get the idea. Instead of shopping at WalMart, they will have to take out a second mortgage on the farm.
Evan, I know you don't need to be told this, but you are a blessed man. The Lord has given you the best partner you could ever hope to have. Rebehah is a nurse and a fine farm laborer who is still smiling after a tough day of work. A rare find.
I empathize with Rebecca's desire to wear flip flops, and it's so endearing when Evan teases you about it
So glad you bought and installed the rafter straps. This has to be one of your more satisfying project. It will be very useful. Good you heard the weld break. Repair will be easier. 👍👍👍
Thanks for posting Guys
Fantastic job, Evan and Rebekah! You make a great team. God bless, take care, and be safe! ❤
Looks great! Nice job!
Good job Rebekah! And of course Evan.
Another great video. Perfect husband and wife team.
It's so nice to see you two work together, an obvious respect and admiration for each other. It's a really nice looking job you both did on the hay feeder. Good luck with the remainder of the project. I hope you both have a nice week ahead!
That's the same thing I did with the watering bowls like you did with hay feeder you sure did alot with your farm looks good all fencing in all .Good videos!
You both did a marvellous job
Just little note. When welding cut a V groove and then weld. This was told to me by a welding instructor. He worked on building ships at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. So I think he knew what he was talking about. By the way that feeder area looks great. A lot of work but it will last a long time.
Evan we love you and Rebecca and the life you have created but over the years there has been a theme to most if not all your videos 🤔😂
Enjoying the video’s and jobs that you are doing.several times when you have cleaned out the barn and this top soil, in my opinion , I believe the next investment might be a dump trailer of some kind. Good luck,👍👍👍
I remember the first time I watched you guys and that was when you put that same fabric on your driveway and had the rock put down. Time has passed fast. Thanks for the content.
For the metal take a box cutter and score down the rib close to the measurement that you need pull it good and deep then fold the metal over in half. It will break right where you scored it at with the box cutter
They make an attachment that goes on an impact that cuts metal pretty good. It's not crazy expensive either. Awesome video.
Hurray for Rebecca!! 😊
You two work very well together. Farming is really a family affair. Good to have someone who will volunteer. Rebecca is great. I have the same problems with heat, although never used a fan at night, and so did my mom, so Rebecca is in good company. The flip flops make sense now.
love your vids
That little tractor pretty handy
I learned something. I had always been told that on metal roofing the screws were supposed to go on the top of the ridges.
I won’t give you any suggestions as I know enough to be dangerous.
But I will say I love your videos. You are the nicest couple and so fun to watch your beautiful farm coming together!!!👍
Hey Evan, maybe you can weld a ball socket on like on your three point lift arm . That way, it will give side to side movement without breaking. I think God bless , keep having fun.
Make her HAPPY!
Thanks. Really enjoyed the video.
Great job. You two are the cutest couple. Best to you.
You should have put your top soil in your dump wagon so you can move it where you want.
But Awesome Videos you make
Pretty much what I was thinking too.
“We took out too much with the tractor?” I thought you Evan were using the tractor. Ha Ha when the Boss is around Rebecca makes the project easy.
Rebekah! I do the same thing!!!! Thank you for sharing! Always enjoy your channel!
Great idea for your farm. ❤❤🎉🎉
Good afternoon. You are getting a lot of work done ✅
Rebecca is a tough woman that I really appreciate, she reminds me of a friend of mines wife. Wish I would have had one just like her! I have an aunt (my dad's sister) around 80 years old that told me the same story about never liking her feet under the covers, she told me a few years ago that she would even crack the window in the winter in the bedroom, she told me she ended up coming to an agreement with my uncle to not crack that window so he wouldn't have to wear socks in bed. I couldn't help myself to not share that story since she told it to me out of the blue and it seems so similar.
Way to go both of you.
How about renting a gas powered plate wacker from the rental store, it’s the only way to compact the gravel.
Good luck
This was a really good video. I really don't know why you don't have at least 250,000 subs!
The base for heavy cattle areas is usually riprap rock. The riprap let's the cow poop drain below the frost line.
I 've used those before, NEVER AGAIN..,,, HEAVY !!!!!!
Great job hard work you did OK. It will work great.
Rebekka has become quite the farmhand.
Hello from San Antonio Tx
Thx
Rebekah, you are definitely good with the tractor. Do your own landscaping! Just remember ... no wood of any type near the house foundation. Wood=termites=cursing. 😁
I remember when you were SmallTown 442 with your new property. That was about 10 years ago, right? You guys have come a long way since then. 😀
Man.....Evan you are fortunate not suffer a serious wound with that metal...Safety bud you know that. None the less looking most excellent bud
For all the little projects you do you should buy a powered tamper they work good and pack well I brought one for putting hopper bottom with gravel and use a powered tamper
Try buying a 3- point lower arm repair link for your top link replacement on your post hole digger it will work better than that other repair
I saw a video by a couple in LA that do dry mix slabs. They fill the form with sakrete, level it off, the spray it with water for several days until it is saturated. They parked an F350 on one with no cracking. That might be worth a try.
When I was younger and lived on a farm we did the exact same thing as you did, however, when we poured the pad we put 2x4 vertical down the center of the pad at a slope so that water didn't accumulate under the hay and drained out of the sides. Just a thought...
Great Video...really looking nice..!
Hi guys!
A row boat would have done the job, but YOU had to build a BATTLESHIP!! The posts alone are overkill. You can put your truck up there. GOOD GRIEF and less expensive TOO!!
Bookshelves can be this winter when you really can't do much outside
I have to stop watching you, You got me outside again fixing things. today rebuilt my hen house door, cleaned up lumber that I pile for another day , at 83 I m wearing out LOL The flip-flop s make me laugh, Thanks another good video
Its looking very much like a posh cow restaurant very nice lol
Great job
Looks like Rebecca getting the hang of that tractor and bucket😅
Needle nose pliers for the smashed thumb!
Happy Implement Happy life. That could be a tee-shirt.
When your done welding the eye on the auger weld a strap around the whole thing.
Well done good luck
Evan you have a metal lath get som round stock and make a new attachment point for your post hole digger out of good steel. Throw that cast gizmo away.
Love your channel...
Bookshelves in the winter time
Good thing you didn’t call her an implement, if you did that you’d be a real tool! It is better when you have help and even better when it is your spouse! Great job. I think that feeder will be just right. Your farmstead is looking so good. Keep up the great videos. I know you have lots of projects, but will you get to the eave trough on the rear of the barn this year? That’ll save you a lot of grief this next Spring and even this winter if it gets icy in the barnyard. Have a great day!
Evan, the hay feeder is looking really good and you are right about it saving you time and work in the future!
Waving a hand from texas
On your next repair weld I would recommend a buttress plate top and bottom.
Use the grapple on your tractor to move those cross ties. It will make it a lot easier
Try the dry concrete method instead of using the wet mixer method. It just strong and hold up a good long time.
Rebecca I'm the same way about my feet....they control my whole body temp. 😂
It takes time dude
Hey Evan, Harbor Freight has a good deal on a
motor driven compactor. works great.
Rebekah is the best, be good to her 🙂
Rebeka,i have the same prob,hot feet,but i use hotwaterbottle with iced/cold water
If nothing else , don't bother mixing the concrete , just put it in directly from the bag , level it up , them spray it down good with a water hose . It will set up on its own , but be sure to do a broom finish on it when your done .
My posthole digger has been on my tractor for years and never broke.....but I don't have 100lbs of weight on it.
About moving the dirt from one side of the fence to the other, why not use both tractors and move dirt from bucket to bucket and never pile it ? Just a thought!!! Probably worth what you paid for it! Lol !!!! You all be careful and God bless !!! Eddy
I've raised cattle in the past. Most important thing you need to know is never have more cattle than your wife can handle.
You need to preheat the metals you're welding and also bevel everything atleast one quarter inch all welded areas. The metal they built Ag equipment is hard . Take rosebud and heat it red hot and then weld it and lots of tacks . Burn your rod hot more penatration. And then rap everything with insulation overnight overnight. This should not break . Been doing it for 50 years. God Bless
What if you cut that end flat, drilled the end and tapped it and put a threaded hime joint that swivels and will allow that side to side movements ? Just a thought.
With all the gravel work that y’all do, have you thought about a cheap plate compactor from Harbor Freight?
it would be best if you flipped the cutter on the drill
Gloves, always. For Mrs. Too and work shoes, hate to see anyone get hurt.
After you weld it back up weld a piece of strip steel around it and it will nnever brake again. Like your video,s
I had the head rotated180 degrees from what you have but I think I like yours better gets hand away from the metal cut
You need to construct a concrete weight to fix to hydraulic arms on tractor, will give it more traction.
I hope you two have a hot tub!
