This was the most fun of the episodes I have played in. Beyond thrilled with how it turned out. Great work Steve, Greg and anyone else who did the editing.
0:20 I was really expecting him to say: "In order to understand the great mystery one must study all it's elements. Not just the dogmatic view of the historical wargamers."
Really enjoyable. You need to do something like this, say, 20% of the time, it breaths some fresh air into things and, hopefully opens up your audience. Well done.
I just recently finished playing Jedi: Fallen Order, and I think a pack with Cal Kestis and his crew would be a no-brainer. Since FFG usually releases in pairs, you could also have the Second Sister and Purge Troopers come out alongside. This was a great episode, and thank you all for putting it out!!
after going on 4 years playng 40k im getting the samurai starter army for pike and shotte this channel is a large part of why im trying historical wargames thank you little wars tv
Absolutely love this, I myself got into Historical after being introduced to Sci-fi wargaming! I would absolutely love a Mandolorian and Jawa expansion to replay out that scene from The Mandolorian where he tries to assault a sand crawler!! 😂 Cant wait to see what scenario or battle you play out next, honestly my favourite channel for narrative historical battles we all know and love!
Great episode. I watched it and went and got my son and watched it again with him. We agree it is the best of the Legion Batreps we have watched. We want an AT-AT expansion.
The opening graphics crawl was great. I am a proud historical gamer. But I have to ashamedly admit, that I got my gaming start with D&D. Keith is absolutely correct. Damn you Keith! Damn you!!
I think Fantasy Flight should make an expansion that recreates the classic scene where force ghost Spock uses his sonic screwdriver to get the babel fish out of Gollum's ear.
I agree with everything in the intro, if historical gaming is to grow it has to really embrace fantasy/scifi. Here in the PNW, at our big convention, Enfilade, we see a growing number of those games, and that are fun, draw in players, who then get involved with the other games. As far as a supplement, since I am not that familiar with the game, I would say "Capture the Star Destroyer" sort of like Space Hulk? on ship fighting to take or clear out resistance.
The reason they ended it like that is because each side is given a finite amount of those command cards for each game, so presumably, once the cards ran out, that's when they decided the battle would end
Love the scenario and “historical” following of the SW story. I never played this games but this theme might get me involved with some of my veteran gamers friends.
I was actually the opposite of most I played historical, than got into sci-fi. I have been looking to start a legion army need to decide on what army/era to play.
It was a great idea to do an episode like this! As for an expansion I’d like to see gungans. Rows of shield wielding troops and gungan cavalry. What’s not to love?
Also, is that what ‘Imperial Discipline’ really does? A ‘recover’ action just means to reset weapons like the HH12 rocket launcher for stormies or the rebel trooper ion gun, as well as removing suppression tokens. I don’t think you get to reuse the activation token and give that unit a second go. Darth Vader DOES have a command card which lets him do that, but it costs a wound point and only gives him one action on his second go.
Yep. I think they forgot how "Pierce" works too (Han, Chewie, and Leia would have gunned down those squads in 1-2 turns), and Leia's command card should have been discarded when she died, etc. BUT - more importantly, great example of how the Legion rules can be used to create a fun scenario!
I know you guys are an historical group; but you gotta admit - you had FUN with this game!!! I agree completely about embracing other genres to introduce the next generation of gamers to the hobby. Awesome video guys - next time, fire up some SW:Armada!!!
The point you make about Fantasy/Sci-fi gaming being a gateway to historical wargaming was certainly true for me. I started with Warhammer Fantasy! Now to answer your question, I'd love to see a Gungan faction expansion for Star Wars Legion!
Great content! Tables are always on point, adds so much to the feel and experience of the game. I think a Battlestar Galactica expansion would work well with FFG, similar perhaps to SW: Armada but Vipers and Raiders and Nukes oh my!
I would love to see the Company cover more of the Books :) those were Awsome stories some of those minis would be very nice. 😊Not the Disney stuff :( Thanks it was a Great Battle Report and a Beautiful set up! You guys really do Wonderful games. God Bless. From Grey in Virginia
YAY! I love it when the good guys win. Did not watch this for a bit, not realalizing that the Endor game that kept popping into my news feed was you guys.
I put off watching as I thought I would not enjoy it. This was excellent and I might not be so much looking down at sci-fi gamers now. There has to be a Greg Expansion as he certainly has carved himself a role there.
Fantastic episode of a great series. Battles of Hoth would be great. I started out playing Historical games at a Wargames club in the 80's, so that is my favourite genre.
Wonderful video guys. I love seeing your beautiful maps, watching the battles unfold always teetering on an edge, and listen to the corny jokes that are always good for a laugh. Thanks for all you do. And as for the Expansion I would love to see more types of specialized clone troopers. I always enjoyed the idea of them more than other "factions", for lack of a better term, in the star wars universe.
Good job. I really like all the coverage on expanding the HWG hobby; it's absolutely vital to continue that work. I did love the way you guys were playing exactly like every other set of nerds/geek/gamers I have ever played with, complete with bad puns and funny voices. Finally, I have to say most of the other people mentioned great ideas for expansions, but something that would be on my instant buy list would be the 10mm scale version of Legion, as I love the GW 'Epic Scale' games enormously.
Thanks for another great episode! As much as I love historical wargaming, this was definitely one of my favorites. I'd love to see them release a Hutt expansion. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
This was brilliant and genuinely comical in a way that transcended cliche. I appreciate that you are focused on the hobby and how to bring in new players. I've literally just developed an interest in war games and appreciate the tie-in to my favorite fiction property. Carry on!
I LOVE this show, every episode you put out! My wife is scared of it she only sees dollar signs floating in the air around my head as I watch each episode! 😂
I myself started as a strictly historical gamer only! I was very opinionated about it, and had quite the attitude about gamers who played fantasy games. However, I was open to Sci Fi, since technically, that is" in the future" Eventually, I friend convinced me to try a fantasy game, and I really enjoyed it, and it changed my perception of the genre. At this point, I view ALL games as viable entertainment, and hope they all survive the hobby of gaming, especially miniatures/table top. Thank you for this videw
What a pleasant surprise this episode was! Would love to see more sci-fi and fantasy battle reports on the channel in the future, specifically some Warhammer 40k and maybe some Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game. All in addition to the usual historical games, of course :) Variety is the spice of life - and tabletop! Great work as always on this video. Keep it up!
Miles is the most brilliant commander on little wars TV. I've been saying so since I saw his review of starwars legion, but I cannot believe I did not see it sooner.
Best episode in my opinion so far. Love what you guys do. I would love to see fantasy flight games to make clone and droid commandos. That would make legion awesome.
Great video, the quality you guys do always blows me away! To be perfectly honest I think that they should just expand the current ranges more, the main issue I have with Legion is that there isn't enough troop variety.
As always another great episode. I stared with Historic gaming took a detour through Star Fleet Battles, all the while doing World War 2 micro armor battles. I have played Star Wars X-Wing toyed with the idea of Star Wars Legion. I think It would be great if they dove into the Mandolorians, this would be great. Jet packs, blasters, flamers and disintegrations. A side note on rules, I found on Face Book a set of rules where the guy had taken Bolt Action and adapted it to Star Wars, looks like a lot of fun. Need AT-AT's. Well guys really enjoyed the episode. love the imperial Star Trek shirts.
awesome episode guys. i chuckled the whole way through it. As for the expansion? Surely a clone-wars-expansion would be awesome, to let us refight the battle for Naboo, etc..
Great video! Nice to see an ensemble cast again. Been looking at SW Legion lately because I love Star Wars but even as a kid I was totally fascinated with Napoleonics over Sci-fi or fantasy. As for an expansion how about a mega Death Star terrain pack! Btw, awesome table as always (part of the reason I love all the videos is your tables!)
One thing I don't expect wargame reviews to do is make me laugh, but this did, and several times. Looks like you all had fun, which is great. Tactics, manouevre, concentration of force and committing reserves at critical moments are shared factors in napoleonic, star wars and Warhammer, the setting doesn't really matter, Brilliant opening, what a tragic lighsabre accident...
Loved the video, great production value and humour. I agree there needs to be a healthy appreciation of fantasy/sci-fi to grow the hobby (and keep posting the wide range of games!). And for Star Wars Legion I'd love to see my favourite characters Zuckuss and 4-LOM as an expansion.
This is my first viewing of a video from you guys and I must say I'm very impressed! The whole thing was excellent. The best battle report I have seen on youtube. I'd love to see more Star Wars, 40K or Infinity.
Great video! Loved to see a "Making of" for the larger trees and the ewoks. FFA needs some Mandolorians eventually. Looks like a great time was has by you guys.
As a currently 28 year old wargamer who started out with 40K, moved into Warcry then started Flames of War. I love all the games and have even picked up Legion, X-Wing and Armada. Love the hobby overall!
Great stuff guys! Not an expansion per se, but I'd really like to see some themed battle boxes around key skirmishes from the movies, e.g the Endor bunker attack, the attempt to seize the millennium falcon, escaping the Death Star etc. As always, keep it up!
I've been really enjoying the content on this channel. I have to agree on the point made at the beginning that sci-fi and fantasy gaming is a great tool for bringing people into historical wargaming. My friends and I are all in our mid 20's and recently we've been really enjoying bolt action, and are looking to get into more macro scale games (like the one shown in the d-day episode). We never would have given bolt them a shot though if it wasn't for warhammer 40k getting us into the hobby in the first place.
Looks good. If you do another Star Wars Game I think you guys would enjoy Star Wars: Armada. Its probably one of the smaller Fantasy Flight games, but it is a ton of fun. I think you can also do a fun mini-campaign with the Space Battle over Scarif in Armada, the attack on the gate in X-wing, and then legion for the fight on the beach. Glad to see the channel branching out! And over course we need a Mandalorian expansion.
Please please please get in character and do this more often. This was just the right kind of low budget + quality effort that keeps me going.
Hah thanks! "Low budget" and "quality effort" is what we're known for around here!
Little Wars TV thats what makes it special
Was so much better than it had any right to be 😂
I think I would be cool for you guys to play the battle of Hoth and see if the rebels could have actually won.
Epic making!
@@IronIvanKeith were you never a kid?!?! buy a Lego one.
the size and scale is close enough.
Started like "Oh, this is kinda interesting"
(20 minutes later) "What? It's over?"
We hope you'll stick around for more!
That's what she said!!!!
This was the most fun of the episodes I have played in. Beyond thrilled with how it turned out. Great work Steve, Greg and anyone else who did the editing.
You should create a lord of the rings.

An expansion of just dozens of Jar Jar's. That is the true definition of bliss.
Which one would be the bombad general?
This was a hoot. Also the acapella music was utterly brilliant.
Oh my goodness the intro had me dying.
Hold laughter back, we must young jedi.
same

Gotta admit, I'd love to see an expansion with Republic Commandos. Or a Geonosian set for the CIS, that too would be fun

It's so much fun watching you guys get more and more comfortable with your channel. This was fantastic!
I agree with what you say about historical watgaming im 15 years old and all the guy i play with are 40-60 years old
That was hilarious!!! Kudos to all of you, the beginning and end were great with characters Ghost Jedi and emperor Greg.
I'd love to see an expansion of mud troopers from the Solo film, those imperial grunts had a cool look to them!

Fascinating... Red shirts leading Stormtroopers.
Just wanted to say thank you for a great video. This is the reason why I subscribe Little Wars.
I'd like to see FFG do an AT-TE expansion for their Clone Wars stuff.
They need several vechiles at at atte av6 juggernaut and at dp
I would like for fantasy flight games to do the old republic.
I think Fantasy Flight should do a Pod Racers game, It would be kinda like Gas Lands, similar type of terrain, same scale, it would be really cool
