  • In this video I test out the Tiny ProFishiency Pocket Baitcaster telescopic Travel rod. Could this baitcasting reel be the perfect travel rod or will it be a bust? I will put it to the test, and review the functionality of the rod and reel, i will fish with it, and see how it holds up against some largemouth bass.

      You're a fuckin snob. I'm amazed you stooped down to this reels level. 5:6:1 is slow? It's not blazing but it's not slow.

    I have the black reel paired with a 5' 6" H2OX rod and spooled with 15 lbs. braid. The response I get from everyone is just how smooth the little reel. I was fascinated by just how tiny the reel was and thought it would be interesting to play around with, also to keep in the car just in case.

    I grew up with those old zebco 33's, the ones called "classic" these days. They had a 13.5-14 ipt. They were pretty slow.

    The gear ratio isn't that bad. That ratio is standard for most cranking and swimbait use. The line pickup per handle turn is the major issue. It looks like an incredibly deep spool. The deeper the spool, the less line it picks up per turn. If you were able to fill the spool with something or even a much thicker diameter line you would improve your line pickup rate.

    • @lakemonsterlures
      @lakemonsterlures  Год назад +1

      Absolutely, the diameter of the spool is that of a pencil. But I was shocked at how much line it actually could hold. I found myself using this combo over a normal one because it was just so fun

      @@fishyzzvr it’s worth it if you’re traveling by plane. But even then I would opt for the bigger reel with the telescoping rod. The little reel is fun. I should try it in a large rod

    It sounds like its the rod thats poo and not the babycaster itself. Hmmm, I'd love to try to that baitcaster on a 6'2 UL/L rod for casting micro crankbaits, tiny spoons, fly lures...

    Is the key is to real as fast as possible for bass. For trout fishing don't do that and that is top gearing for my poles i don't find bass much in the high desert is to cold in the water for bass.

    • @lakemonsterlures
      @lakemonsterlures  9 месяцев назад

      Trout have much softer mouths. I used to live in Colorado, and go back there often. It does seem that the fight for bass fishing goes a lot quicker. Try to keep tension on the line so they don’t toss the hook.

    Did you use 4lb braid? Have you tried any other line on it? What line was on your other reel you used with it? Thanks!

    • @lakemonsterlures
      @lakemonsterlures  Год назад +1

      Honestly I was probably using 30lb braid. Suffix 832

    • @lakemonsterlures
      @lakemonsterlures  Год назад +1

      I’ll have to check, but if it’s braid I usually have 30-65 depending on what style lure I’m using/rod. The 13 reel was most likely heavier line because I had it on my musky rod.

      Not my number one choice by any means, but better than others. Of my favorites I think my Shimanos are the top, then daiwa. I do like my 13 fishing concept reel, but I got it at 60% off… wouldn’t have paid more than that. The Revo reel (Ike signature model) is pretty good.

    How does the reel compare to other bait casting reels? How different is it?

    • @lakemonsterlures
      @lakemonsterlures  5 месяцев назад

      It’s super small… it doesn’t slip when fighting if that’s a concern. It actually is a really strong reel. Fighting a fish on it is very difficult. It makes every fish feel like a giant. It’s a lot of fun. 18 inches per crank is just about a foot per rotation. So if you cast out 50ft you’re going to crank it almost 50 times to bring it in. If the ratio was 7:1:1 and a “normal” size I would buy it. The quality is really good.

    • @lakemonsterlures
      @lakemonsterlures  Год назад +1

      Basically as good as any rod, I was able to get some good distance out of it. Helps having a heavier lure and using your own reel.. but that little reel is built like a tank. I’m genuinely impressed. It also is great when fishing in tight spots… like around overhanging trees. But the fight when bringing in any sized fish is insane! Lots of fun!

    thats the slowest you've used?? you been hiding under a rock???? been using 202's,33's etc; before your time son. never had a problem catching fish..202's are 2.8-1......you said yourself, to match your lure and line and rod/reel to what your fishing for..looks like it's doing a fine job..your being too critical, and most baitcasters i own are the same gear ratio.
