- The Sir John Franklin Hotel was licensed in 1849 and has seen a few deaths in its time. With figures being witnessed and strange sounds heard, we went in to explore and hopefully showcase this lovely hotel.

Glad you are enjoying them. Don't worry I used to be frightened too as I was born into a haunted house that terrified me. The more I have investigated though, the more the fear has turned into excitement. Love looking for this stuff and in turn bringing it to people who are interested :)

For 2 reason's #1 she is a Adelaide girl, and #2 she keeps it real you know if anything happens on her investigations it's for real. Hi Helen, and welcome to the channel. I hope you enjoy it here too. Amy is so lovely and why we have become friends and help her with venues, where we can. She has become like my adopted daughter lol. For all the reasons you list above, is why we love her too :)
As for keeping it real. I agree with you that this is so important and are very proud of doing so. It is again why we have become close to Amy, as we are like-minded and share that passion and belief that you don't have to put things on to make a location interesting to the viewers. Often the history will do that. I have been researching (prior to tourism) for over 32 years so have always strived to keep it on that level. We have so many venues overseas that Kag and I have investigated, such as Bobby Mackays Music Hall and Woodchester Mansion, where frustratingly we had nothing happen so sadly can't make episodes out of them. But that is the reality of investigating the paranormal.
As to your last comment about if they ask you to leave, then respect that and leave. I think Amy would agree with me on this, that often we get more than one through at the same time on these investigations. I guess like people they have different personalities and you may get one that is grumpy and wants us to leave, while another appears to want us to stay and chat. The other reason we hold off leaving is that we have had the occasion where whoever it is, starts with "leave", (after all we are strangers) but as we chat realises instead that we come in respect and in friendship so starts to chat. It is an interesting point you bring up though, and hopefully, Amy will be on our GhostCast live stream tomorrow night, so may pose this as one of our questions to her. :)
The good news is, I am behind on episodes and have a couple more to put up yet in collaboration with Amy so hopefully, you enjoy them too. :)
@@haunted-horizons many years ago me and my husband & family went on a tour in the Adelaide jail with you guys. Not sure if you remember benni man with the black coat. But through the tour my husband had that on and the others that were not part of our family thought it was set up lol 😁

@@haunted-horizons yes I did you took us to Elizabeths grave I think that was the name of the only women to get hung? I took a photo then my camera shut off even tho I just put new battery's in. At the time I thought ok but when I got home and downloaded the pictures it came out like I had nothing happened. From memory her and her husband made bread or had a bakery and they gave bread to anyone that needled it but something happened. She got convicted for murder so she got hung. Not sure if that's right it was a big night lol 😁 xoxox
Hey Alison during your Esters Method, I was wondering do spirits hate us talking to them because I've been getting told to go, leave, stop, get out, shut up and sworn at & I was being polite thinking they might want to have a chat????? any insight on what they want or expect or how they perceive us?
I was told we look like shadows to them and we scare them with a room full people demanding them to show themselves and blinking noisey devices and bright torch lights piss them off ! I have no idea what to believe or think other than the EVP's I've had lately.
You're an experienced investigator , can you shed some light please.
Hey Irena, I have always believed there are no experts in the field, not even me. It is hard enough to prove this stuff exists. How do they see us? If only we knew. There are a lot on the internet who express their beliefs, but until we have proof of this I take with a grain of salt. I personally think until we pass over we are never really going to know. So the following is simply sharing my thoughts from my own experiences over the years, nothing more. They do seem to be able to see us and hear us as there are numerous cases of 'ghosts' acknowledging us and what we are doing. I have only seen them in return as shadowy figures, however others I know have seen them as full-bodied too. Maybe it is the same variation for them when they see us.
As for communicating and chatting. We too get told to leave, out and in the more undesirable places, much like Gaols, the odd swear word does come out. This would be an everyday language for these people though. But... we have others that appear to be happy to chat and communicate much like we want to do in return. I personally think that if ghosts exist, they were people once, with varying personalities. Some were not friendly in life or sociable and if we take our personalities with us in death, continue to be so. Sometimes we will get in the same venue, and on the same night have one that seems to want to chat in one sentence and then another that interrupts with the 'Get outs'. We don't provoke but try and encourage conversation. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I think it depends on the personality and the location you are dealing with. We don't always want to chat to other people so why would they. The one thing I am sure about... they don't have to. If they don't want to talk then they won't, simple as that. They aren't forced to and often we get no communication at all. But at least we offer them that chance to do so if they choose to.
Hopefully that all made sense and wasn't too much of a ramble. Just my thoughts from some of the experiences we have had, nothing more ;)

I'm only interested because in my life I've seen four full bodied 'clear as I'm looking at you' spirit/people, and one looked as shocked as I did 'like a deer in headlights' shocked, I had time to apologise for nearly colliding with him before he vanished.
....and that's in our current home where everything's been happening, kettle switch gets flicked on & off, the TV has occasionally comes on (not a smart TV) , & the sound of chairs getting dragged on the floor but in a distance , broken shadows, my PC is a touch screen and has been paused or reacts like it's getting touched, my dog barks or growls at nothing & my granddaughter is scared to sleep in the spare room, the same room my son had and freaked out in 18 years ago, (he said someone was sitting on his bed at night) bugger!! but nothing spooky or negative...so I decided to finally acknowledge them instead of pretending they don't exist.
I thought I could capture it but now I think they know what I'm doing with cameras etc, it's like they hide or something so I researched our history and visited the cemetery ....wow I don't know what I expected but you make sense they're people & I'm the rude stranger.
Thank you and one day soon I hope to visit SA with my hubby, as a tourist sightseeing & go on one of your Ghost tours

3.55 in under the exit sign there is a white like orb.? Was that a torch light or something else? 🤔
Thank you so much for that. I actually think it is the flare from the exit sign as when I watched it seemed to move in line with the camera movement, if that made sense. Have another look and see what you think. We love it when people point out things that we have missed so thank you :D
