Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

that SMASH into the windshield scared the shit out of me the first time i watched the pilot
Same here.
Ik that shit was hard asf how’s he not dead
I still get shocked on this video
I knew something bad would happen but it still got me

Their acting was so good that I thought it was terrible acting
lol yes it really takes a lot of talent for a good actor to act like a bad actor so well that it is a fantastic acting job
Haha good point
It _was_ terrible acting.
@@FunBoysGaming it really wasn't as they were portraying dumb teenagers so it came off that way until you realized they were trying to scam him
It actually was terrible acting, Bob Odenkirk improvised the part where he kicked the guy on the floor when he realised that they were bad actors, and their reactions were real - The writers loved it and rewrote the rest of the show around this one scene.
"You can't hustle a hustler" -Trevor Phillips
“Don’t bullshit a bullshitter”- Heisenberg
"Bitch" - Jesse Pinkman
"Say my name" -Jeff
"No more half-measures" - Mike
“But not our Jimmy, couldn’t be precious Jimmy!” - Chuck
This is the moment Abuelita became Biznatch
Finally one that's funny
The moment one leg bone became two leg bones
That's weird, I thought this was the moment Gus decided to kill Walt's infant daughter.
Generic copy and paste formulaic "jokes" funny?
@@grzegorzwojcik153 oh shut up.
I love how he acts like a victim first but then loses it when he heard they want money
He probably knew from the start its too obvious of a scam
He wanted to see their act, if they'd come up with a reasonable price, but then got disappointed that they overshot
Like Walt in 'full measure'
hes a lawyer he knows its a scam
I bet they saved money and hired inexperienced actors to play them 🤣
He went from Jimmy to Saul sooo fast 😂
Right. I was confused at first because this scene made us believe he was at least a decent lawyer but he was dumbed down afterwards. I only know the basics and I knew when he was making mistakes as a lawyer.

2 Skateboarders deciding to run a scam caused the collapse of an entire law firm, the death of dozens of high ranking Cartel members, and the creation of the largest drug empire in the world.
And the most depressed lawyer ever
Not the biggest drug empire in the world but yeah in the United States it was the biggest

crazy right? i love stuff like this in movies and shows
This entire interaction essentially made the whole breaking bad timeline possible
kinda wild how this interaction essentially made the entire breaking bad timeline possible
I haven’t watched it but I really want to know what you mean
@@borger298 please make time for these two shows. Trust me. You gotta watch breaking bad, el Camino, and better call Saul in that order
Exactly. If it weren’t for the skaters, he never would have tried to get Betsy Kettleman like that, he would have never met Tuco, and thus, Nacho would most likely never know who Saul Goodman was.
The wonders of the Butterfly Effect
Right. These guys try to scam him, he gets the idea to use them to scam betsy, they accidentally scam tucos grandma, tuco kidnaps them, nacho and jimmy meet, nacho sees that jimmy could be useful, jimmy begins a connection with nacho who has also begun a connection with mike, and the seed is planted for saul to be born.
The episode is titled “Uno” because Saul pulled a reverse card on them
The whole episode pulled a reverse on Jimmy.
Well, uno is one in Spanish. I dunno, might have something to do with it.
@@nikhiliyengar1510 I for one agree
I think all of these are interesting interpretations!
No it's because he played a draw four.
this is the moment Jimmy's car becomes a steaming pile of crap
True, but it’s been more than a friend to Jimmy, than Chuck did his entire life.
@@masterzombie161 it's a joke like the "this is the moment Walter becomes Heisenberg" meme
Always has been.
1:38 I love that little smirk he gives once he realizes that this is all a bullshit scam because he’s done the same thing to so many people back in Cicero. Fantastic acting on Bob’s part
Oh no, Jimmy did a whole lot better, these two were amateurs.
I love how quickly the skateboarder gets up after Jimmy kicks him a few times
Bob Odenkirk is a natural
I love his expression right before he kicks the guy, pure "oh I'm gonna enjoy this".
Yes- his smile at 1:40 shows a combination of relief and happiness that it is just a scam and not for real.
If you think about it, this is where everything went downhill. This right here is the first domino falling in this huge domino effect of a series. If these two didn’t try to con him, he probably wouldn’t try to scam Betsy, which means he would have never got to know Tuco that also got him to know Nacho, which introduced him to the criminal world. It’s mindblowing if you think about it, and this is what really sets these writers of this universe apart from anyone else if you ask me.
Geez I thought I was the only 1 who thought of that lol but I totally agree it's where it all started.......maybe Gene will run into these guys in the final season.
Butterfly effect
Sounds like a GTA plot! Both great nonetheless!
It reminds me how gta wouldve never happend if amanda didnt fuck the tennis coach
If saul didnt become a criminal lawyer, walt would have been in jail at the end of season 2, he wouldnt be responsible for janes death and therefore, the plane crash wouldnt have happened. So this skateboard guy is technically the cause of the 300 deaths
If the skaters didn't hit Jimmy's Suzuki, Howard would be still alive
*insert domino meme*

@Sunset nah bruh that’s a movie
Absolutely stunning acting from Bob Odenkirk. The reaction immediately after the impact is just perfect.
The little kick he sends at orange guy as he runs away sends me every time
Two brothers... working together. Just what Jimmy wanted
I love how encounters like these play a lot into Jimmy's character, he comes off as small and incompetent but he's been around the same block enough times to know a true scam when he sees it. Just like walter said to one of his students "don't bullshit a bullshitter."
I like how Jimmy is genuinely worried at first, but when he sees the other guy overacting he literally goes “Oh” like oh it’s one of these

Jimmy: "I can get you the $500 out of my safety deposit box, but I don't have the $200 in late rental fees I have to pay the bank before they give me access. What are we going to do?"
He is a very good actor if you watch him closely, and he unleashed a good portion of his talent in "nobody" movie
2:18
I can’t believe nobody is mentioning the little squeal one of them made when Jimmy said he was a lawyer 💀
I just LOVE how the dude with a "broken" leg gets up after saul talks about the money they owe him and then runs away like nothing happened
At this exact moment, Tuco helped a little old lady cross the street
2:34 I always laugh so hard when it gets to this part 🤣
If they had tried to pull this scam on Gus Fring…
“Sure, I’ll pay you. Come back to my office. Let me get my box cutt - er, I mean checkbook.”

Man, before I watched this show, I just didn't think it would be as great as Breaking Bad. But this one scene in episode 1 changed my mind. And then in episode 2, Saul tried to negotiate with Tuco. God I love that scene. I hope this channel uploads it.
Funny thing is that Chuck still never knew about this whole thing. Even if he told him what happened, he wouldn’t care.
I love how the original con they pull is that the skateboarder who got hit (Cal) broke one leg, but then in the next episode, Tuco breaks both of their legs, one leg each. Poetic, in a way.
They really came out of the gate strong with this pilot/first episode

It's amazing to think that if it weren't for these two scammers, it would be unlikely that Jimmy would have been involved with the cartel and the Salamancas (Tuco and Lalo, but most especially Lalo), which would dramatically shift what could have happened in both the following seasons of BCS and BrBa.
