Beyond the Game TV nah bro... just bought myself a canon 90d and a 70-200 f2.8 IS iii lens to shoot pics of kids games. But will now get the 18-200mm after watching your videos. Might look at doing sports videography as a hobby for the my kids.. your videos are helpful as! Good for amateur dads like us just wanting to create awesome videos for the kids.
Thanks for your feedback man, good to hear. The lens you have is much better quality than the 18-200mm though, just FYI. But the 18-200mm will give you more focal range, especially if you're filming from the sidelines. I'm guessing when the action is up close you're probably struggling to keep everything in frame at 70mm.

Hey man, thanks for your great feedback it's very appreciated. If you're on Facebook and want to learn from other sport videographers, I recently started a new Facebook group called 'Sports Videography Community' you should join! It's quite new so we don't have that many members yet but I think this could really become a great community with time.
this is such good advice. Anything in particular that you would do for mountain bike videos? I usually highlight trails using POV with gopro on a chest mounted gimbal or head mounted camera.... I'd love to get some more shots to build more of a story but I'm at a loss for how to do it.
POV are definitely a must but it’s also good to give viewer a broader perspective. I would once in a while position my camera where it can capture a wide shot of the trail and then go back and ride my bike from one end of the frame to the other. Then repeat that a few times when it makes the most sense.
@@BeyondTheGame_E yeah that's great advice, I've just noticed that suggestion seems to be echoed by other mtb youtubers. I'm going to give it a try for sure. Thanks
My main advice would be to use a camera that can do slow motion, 120fps if possible. Although I've never do motorcycle videos so I'm probably not the best to ask. But you should join or Facebook group "Sports Videography Community". There are a few videographers there that do amazing motorcycle racing videos. They would be of great help to you I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing your videos!
Thanks for your feedback! And yes, it is an effect created in AE. From memory, there are 3 or 4 different layers of film damage and glass overlays over the still image and some camera movement added as well.
Hi and thanks for reaching out. The effect you mention in your comment is a combination of a few things. First I do a freeze frame and slowly zoom into the image. I would like to know how you added that moving glass or ice looking like effect on top of it like at 3:53 or 4:04 ?! If you could help me I would be very thankful.
Hey man thanks for your great feedback. I'm glad it's helping you this much because that's the whole point of the show really. Regarding your question, to add texture on top of your image, like glass for example, you need to find a still image of glass texture (which you can find easily with a Google image search), apply it on top of your footage (seperate layer), and then change the blending mode to something like overlay, soft light, etc. You have to test a few and just pick the blending mode you prefer. Then add some movement too to add to the effect. In saying that, it all depends on what editing software you are using. If you don't use any Adobe or Final cut products, you might not have the tools necessary to do this. Good luck man and feel free to get in touch if you have more questions.
Thanks a lot for your fast reply! I am using Final Cut X a few days now so it should be possible for sure, Ill just try to follow your instructions and see if my result is somehow acceptable haha. Thanks again
How do I know how much to charge? I’m starting out doing it basically for free as I work on my craft but once I get better I want to charge a fair price without low balling myself. I’m mainly focused on youth sports in high income communities in the suburbs of Dallas. Youth Sports are big out here.
@@sleepysleepy9913 yeah try to focus on one person at a time and not go back and forth between everyone you're trying to film. Especially skating videos, it's better to have a stable shot and let the skater do all the movement than the other way around.
It’s a platform that rotates at a constant speed over and over like a lazy Susan. By filming each player doing a couple laps, we can make some really cool headshots with some speed ramping in post.

what resolution and frame rate and shutter speed do you use for these sport videos as I need to record a tennis match but they stipulate no music - thanks for your 5 tips
I film in 1080p resolution. As far as frame rates and shutter speed, it depends on a lot of things. The best way to explain it to you is for you to simply watch my last video: ruclips.net/video/Da-bS7a35zM/видео.html It's all in there!
I don’t know much about it to be honest. I would assume that in motor sports, GoPros and drones are the way to go if you can afford it. But it all depends on the purpose of the video I guess.

Thanks again
kirdneh ekmleh good luck!
How do I know how much to charge? I’m starting out doing it basically for free as I work on my craft but once I get better I want to charge a fair price without low balling myself. I’m mainly focused on youth sports in high income communities in the suburbs of Dallas. Youth Sports are big out here.
I shot my first skating video with my gh5 and my own footage made me dizzy. I can't figure out why
too shaky??
@@BeyondTheGame_E I guess. It's like when I'm filming one person and turn to film someone else that panning like is dizzying.
@@sleepysleepy9913 yeah try to focus on one person at a time and not go back and forth between everyone you're trying to film. Especially skating videos, it's better to have a stable shot and let the skater do all the movement than the other way around.
suggestion for the best editing software
I recently bought Filmora9. Very easy to use and an array of effects. Some free and some you have to pay for.
this is very useful
Good to hear! Thanks for your feedback 🙏
Hi! I really like your videos! Helps a lot! 😊 Can you tell me please what is that rotating thing under the players in your intros?😊
It’s a platform that rotates at a constant speed over and over like a lazy Susan. By filming each player doing a couple laps, we can make some really cool headshots with some speed ramping in post.
WOW! I needed a channel like this. I film in MMA with my company TISN Media group and I'm constantly trying to pick up new tricks. SUBSCRIBED!
Thanks man, feedback like this means the world to me!
@@BeyondTheGame_E Absolutely dude! Maybe we'll meet up at a UFC event someday! Looks like you work with some of my favorite guys. Til then keep up the work!
That sounds like a plan!
hi can i ask what is the title of the song that you used in that great highlight video? godbless and thankyou in advance
No worries. It's called White flags by Bishop Briggs
What lens to use on the close up shots? Is 24-70 good? Thanks
Yes that's a good one. With close-ups I like to have nice depth of field so, if you can afford it, I would get the f2.8 instead of the f4.
Tem algum vídeo mostrando como fazer esse tipo de vídeo usando jogos de hockey?
I have this video with a section about filming hockey.
We are in a difficult situation... We have a stationary camera for Hudl... and need other action shots. Ill give you my audio advice...if you are recording for Club Team, tell all the parents you are recording audio
I really need advice for Indoor Tournament volleyball
There are a bunch of volleyball dads in our sports videography community Facebook group that could help you with that.
what resolution and frame rate and shutter speed do you use for these sport videos as I need to record a tennis match but they stipulate no music - thanks for your 5 tips
I film in 1080p resolution. As far as frame rates and shutter speed, it depends on a lot of things. The best way to explain it to you is for you to simply watch my last video: ruclips.net/video/Da-bS7a35zM/видео.html It's all in there!
Can we add any songs from are personal playlist to a video that was made by us
What I said about video applies to audio as well.
Can you tell me where I can get close up shots for a nfl or nba highlights. Especially for cinematic effects
Use the replays
BeyondTheGameTV what replays
Record the game on Tv and use the replays they show after a great play. They are almost always slow-motion close-ups.
BeyondTheGameTV any sites I can use?
BeyondTheGameTV il tryna make edits just like this one ruclips.net/video/GgMcO4mq1oc/видео.html
How about motorsports like Extreme enduro? any tips?
I don’t know much about it to be honest. I would assume that in motor sports, GoPros and drones are the way to go if you can afford it. But it all depends on the purpose of the video I guess.
wow it's pinpointing at that!!!
cool job.
Yes it is! We go to work with a smile on our faces (almost) everyday.
Can you do a Motorsports one please 🙏 🏍️
How can we get the audio from the athlete? What kind of equipment should I use?
A decent shotgun mic should do the job.
I am looking at filming American Football games here in Victoria and just want to get some ideas on what I can do. I'm no expert, just someone with a real passion for the game.
Get in touch with local teams. They don't really have any money so if you offer your videographer services on a volunteer basis, I'm sure they take you on board..
@@BeyondTheGame_E yeah I'm already heavily involved with the League. Trying to branch out so I can eventually be the sole provider of Gridiron in Victoria. Plenty of photographers going around but no one dedicated to the league as a whole.
