Thanks. I'm actually glad you had the issue with 1 screw. I had an issue with the hex bolt below it breaking off. Carfax said it had been damaged on the passenger side before. I believe they used JB or something when fixing it. Anyway, I thought I lost the 2 bumper bracket bolts. Your vid helped me realize I put them where the Phillips (your issue) were supposed to go lol. Should've taken pictures. Ordered the pair of assemblies so they'd match. 1 came in broken & had to send it back. 2 weeks after removing my bumper & assemblies, it arrived about 2 hours ago. Glad you were here to help keep me from making a simple mistake. Just noticing how difficult to impossible it is to replace a turn signal bulb without taking the bumper & assembly out. A friend said he had to remove his bumper to replace bulbs. I can't pay a mechanic $100+hr for stuff that I can do & possibly better because it's my vehicle. Sure they can do it in a fraction of the time but "the book says to charge X amount for the job". Dealership wants roughly $450 per assembly & for the cheapest OE. Should've let my $500 deductible deal with them lol. Had a mechanic charge me more than a weeks wage for a 4hr job. May as well went through the dealership for that kind of lovin. Anyway, thanks again. Next is getting my heat & AC going again. It works but does a number on the cars performance. Thinking the AC clutch fan. Wish me luck. 😇✌️
Well, I'm glad you're glad I had that issue, makes one of us! I'll be taking the bumper off again in a few weeks, along with a headlamp and fender to replace the driver's door hinges. Not super excited about it, but it's gotta be done. Going to do a headlamp restoration at the same time. Will do a video on the hinges for sure. Good luck with your heat/ac issue, that's not an easy one to diagnose.
Hi there, the car manual states to use 8-10 nm when tightening the bolts. Using a hand manual ratchet, I have no way of telling. How would I know that the bolts have been nicely tightened?

Great video very informative and helpful. I have to take my units out wish me luck.
Spray the big bolts with penetrating fluid a day before you go to remove it, if you have that much time.
thank you so much. so useful 🙏🏻🌺
Thanks for making this, I need to remove my bumper and this was helpful bigtime!

Thanks for subscribing
will this method be the same for 2012-2014 mazda 5 same gen as this one?
I have to imagine it's very similar, if not the same.
I used this video to help me take apart and replace headlight assemblies on my 2013 Mazda5. Exactly the same.

Hand tight plus a quarter turn with the ratchet should do it.
@@416diy Awesome, thank you so much for the video and the reply!
You don't have to push in those pins and remove them. It serves no purpose if you are just removing the bumper.
why dont you name the tools 😭
Jeez, There has to be an easier way ! Shame on Mazda
